Carl Landry?

Hoopsworld is saying that Houston won't sign Landry to a new contract until he has his knee checked out. With this uncertainty around his future with the Rockets, do you think he might be an option for the Warriors?

Star-divide

Landry is a gritty player and proved that he can bang with opponents much bigger than him. He got some good playing time in when Yao Ming went down last season. I think he could be very valuable to the Warriors. With the Rockets reluctant to sign him, the Warriors might be able to get away with low balling an off er to him and have him sign. He's a very similar player to Turiaf but a little more athletic and younger which falls in line with the Warriors make up. If the Lakers choose to match Turiaf's offer, the Warriors should definitely take a long look at Landry.

What do think Warrior Fans?

If the Lakers match for Turiaf, pushing some money in front of Landry seems like a very good idea. Very good rebounder. Range out to at least 7 and a half feet!

Only if Turiaf isn't matched...

otherwise it duplicates what we have and would rather see the money spent on a veteran PG.

SURE

He seems like a good player, but wouldn’t the WARRIORS want to have his knee checked out too. But if he was going to get it checked out anyway, why would he sign w/ the WARRIORS for a lower offer? If his knee checks out fine, I’m sure we wouldn’t be able to get him any cheaper than what the ROCKETS are willing to sign him for.

yea, if turiaf goes back to lakers...

btw, who has espn insider? can one you guys who does post “Will Big Name Land In Oakland?” that was in the espn rumors section 2 days ago?

it was the same report as stated in the chronicle about the possibility of a billups or heinrich landing in oakland. insider just compiles reports from various sources around the country, google the title of an insider rumor and you’re likely to find it in original form.

Almost everything on Insider can be gathered through google.

[Just in case he does land here, we should learn his name. It’s Hinrich, without an ‘e’. Or even if he doesn’t, it’s still Hinrich without an ‘e’.]

carl landry

is solid, no doubt. Impressive production from a rookie last year.

But we need a backup center. Period.

I'd take Landry

Better FG%, scorer, and rebounder. Not sure if his defense is better but Turiaf does collect more blocks. Landry filled in well along with Scola and Dikembe when Yao went down.

Another Rocket?

I know his age is getting up there, but what about trying to pick up Bobby Jackson. he looks like he can still run a bit.

No thanks

we need a true PG. Bobby Jackson is like a Monta Ellis but MUCH older.

i hope we win a championship soon
