Whats taking so Long?
Why havent we signed up our restricted free agent's yet. Mullin has said with conviction many times that they are staying, what could be the holdup? how much more could Monta want than the warriors wouldn't be willing to give him? Beidrins is understandable because I think there is a bigger gap between what he wants and what he's worth. I don't know what could be the holdup with monta though. thoughts?

There is no hurry
training camp is 3 months away. Right now they are waiting for the Lakers to decide on Turiaf, after that they will go to the next step. Biedrins and Ellis will be here whatever the price.

we are
the only team with money left. there’s no hurry. clips and sixers spent their money already so we could take our sweet time

The Hawks don’t really have money. Their cap space is an illusion. The cap holds on Childress and Smith eat away at the room they’d otherwise have. They could have money, but it would cost them Smith.

I think it’s because they are restricted and we can go over the cap if necessary to sign our restricted FAs. So why not try to add pieces to the team we may need and worry about Monta and Biedrins afterwards.

Exactly
If they sign Monta and Beans now, they are pretty much at the cap with very little room left. However, they are allowed to go over the cap when signing restricted free agents. It gives the team more flexibilty to throw more money at a free agent if they wait.

What's the rush?
Look, one of three scenario’s is going to play out with Monta/Beans:
1) Another team signs Monta/Beans to an offer sheet, and the Warriors match within 7 days (likely immediately).
2) The Warriors sign Monta/Beans to long-term deals for a lot of $$$, and all this speculation ends.
3) Monta/Beans hold out till the last minute, turn down all long term offers, and accept cheap 1-year deals with the Warriors so that they can be unrestricted FA next year.
The only way either Monta or Beans will not be on the Warriors next year is if Cleveland calls up Mully and begs him to take Lebron, or Orlando calls offering Dwight Howard.

Its might not be the players
I have a family friend who is an agent and i have a friend whose older brother is an agent, and i also have a good idea of how the buisness works, yes most of the players or greedy and want the big contracts also cuz its an ego thing to say im making the most money, but in some situations the player is happy with what the team is offering but it is the agent that wants a better deal for his benefits, and i think that could be the case with monta simply because i dont see him as a greedy man

If Turiaf is allowed to become a Warrior, I’d expect there to be a more rapid move to sign the guys. Most of the cap room will be gone, especially if the terms of Maggs and Turiaf’s deals really were somewhat front loaded (as would be wise if they can pull it off). If not, and Turiaf is a Laker, then they’ll hunt for someone else and the waiting game will continue. Signing either of the RFAs kills the cap room. We don’t know if they’ve reached agreements or not though. It’s not the sort of thing they announce unofficially.

it would be dumb...
for them to already have signed a deal. The dubz are the only team with money, so they can let the market (or lack of) help dictate the money they should offer. Plus, why use up precious cap space on the guys they can already go over the cap to retain?

Memphis and Philly...
got the most money to make a big FA splash. Philly would most likely resign Iggy while Memphis has the opportunity to go after a Josh Smith, Emecka Okafor, Luol Deng, etc. But i dout they will since they already commited themselves to Marc Gasol.
