Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

To the delusional fans....

Before i begin my rant, I want to clarify that yes it is going to be difficult to make a move this year and get someone who can be an impact player and we should not just be throwing money at anyone like we are currently doing with Brand and Arenas.  However, if we do not make a move this year and hope to stockpile talent through drafts, how are we ever gonna get anyone to want to sign with the warriors in 2010.  King James is a lock to New Jersey almost and well you really think D wade is gonna jump ship for maybe a little more money?  Come on now, who wants to come to the Warriors if our ownership does nothing to improve the team.  So it can be all well and good we have like 20-25M in cap space in 2010, but will it even matter?  Not many guys sell out now just wanting the money.  Most want a combo of the money and a chance at the ring. And with the warriors taking a back seat in everything this year from the draft to trades to free agency we should not be expecting to have a legitimate shot at signing any big name.  The time is now.

We should throw a deal to Josh Smith/Iggy somewhere around a 5 year 60-70M deal that is front loaded so it will be hard for the hawks to match.  Then we can build around one of those players with Monta, Beans, AR, and B Wright.

But my guess is Mullin and Cohan continue to hibernate until soemtime around 2010 and say oh crap we lost baron? what happened to our play off team?

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

i want a young core to build around and josh smith would be perfect in our system. The kid is super athletic and a true competitor. He is 22 and Brand is what 29? Why not invest in young talent and wait a few years to contend for a title then be mediocore and just make the playoffs or miss the playoffs.

unless

AR learn how to play Point forward fast, I don’t think J-smooth be happy playing here. both of them could take it to rim anytime they wants. But the problem, who is our pg??? I If it came down to Brand or J-smooth, I pick Brand. both of them are on my top favorite list, but Brand could help us more.

its just sad

that my son is 12 yrs old and he has only witnessed one playoff year for the team he sees his dad go crazy over…

I wish I wouldve never tasted the playoffs if this was what we are going to get in return. I was getting used to seeing my team languish in mediocrity and in fact get some satisfaction out of it…...I even cried like a baby when the Warriors clinched against portland

To Baron this is the bottom line: I wouldve understood all your reasoning about going home etc, etc. But by telling everyone, even your last radio interview on a Friday that you are not opting out, you want to go out in a bang, then opt out what monday?? I have lost all my respect for you.

I know who the F am I to you…...

welcome back 12 yrs of sucktitude….

to all those genuises out there….who do u give the ball to if and when (if we ever get to that point) were down 2 with 7 seconds to go?? Stop kidding ourselves….WE ARE NOTHING WITHOUT THAT INGRATE..

research these words: “palabra de honor” and “utang na loob”

PUTANG INA MO BARON mamatay ka rin…....

warriors dont fish they hunt!

I’m going to have to go with Monta for that one. He’s a skinny dude but his speed and ability to get off his ever improving steady jumpshot actually makes him quite scary when the games on the line. He’s hit game winners before and I would imagine Monta’s next step is developing that killer instinct superstars have.

Ummm...

Catch me if I’m wrong here, but by definition, an instinct is instinctual (i.e. something that you have, not something that you learn). I think it’s pretty clear from his moping on the bench in the playoffs that he doesn’t have “it”.
