How in the world

did this guy not get drafted? Any one know his story? Looking at his stats, all american, all time leading scorer. He should have been a lock. Was he injured or something?

I hope we scoop.

Put a little mustard on it

we added him?

could you link the story or something? how did this happen I thought he was playing for Philly or someone like that.

Sweet

i really hope we invite him to training camp.

wow

from random scouting notes ive read online, this guy sounds like a dream come true for the baron-less and potentially kelenna-less warriors. well ok, he’ll be an inexperienced rookie with some notable flaws, but the words “strong guard with good defense” are music to my ears with monta ellis playing in the backcourt.

Jamont

Combo guard, ridiculously athletic. He has long arms and has been known as a defender – I thought the Warriors should take him in the second.

He played okay for the 76ers in Vegas. Nice to see him get another chance. The roster is different – no Louis Amundson, Marco Belinelli, or CJ Watson. CJ is working out at a PG camp somewhere, Belinelli is chillin’, and Louis wants a contract.

Hendrix

What’s the word on Hendrix now that he is getting to play some?

he

was supposed to be monta’s running mate in college. They were recruited together.

heck

i’ll let azubuike go if we can sign jamont gordon and louis williams. lets sign the guy!

interesting that belinelli isn’t playing. he really should get as much game experience as possible. if brandan is playing, so should marco.

also nice to see ayinde ubaka get a chance. hopefully he can prove himself and get onto an nba roster. i was a big fan of his at cal—too bad he didn’t live up to expectations. still he had a good senior year and i think he could be a good (at least) 3rd PG on an NBA team. hopefully he can show something in this next summer league.

Being that I don't like Monta at PG

I think that anyone with a track record like Gordon had in college should be welcome to a Dubs summer camp like whoa. We need Monta to be Monta, not a guy who’s game will diminish once he is put into a role he’s not accustom to nor successful at. Anyone remember Monta playing point? It was like watching a Jr. varsity player playing with the big dogs. Monta is really good and I hope he gets better at running the show, but at this point we need someone to come in and allow Monta and co to do their job. 6’ 4” 225lbs. Sound familiar to someone sporting a beard? Hmm….

Even if he’s legit he won’t step in as a rook and get us to the playoffs. Nothing to get excited about. Montay is not a point but at least he has NBA experience. If we don’t get a better point we’re in for a long frustrating season, but this rook or any rook is not the answer. We need bold surgery not a bandaid

My notes on Jamont Gordon in Vegas

I’m not all that surprised that Mully (or whomever is in charge of the GSW SL teams) picked up Gordon. I remember him because he has an NBA body at 6’4” 225. He didn’t do anything spectacular, but I was wondering why the Sixers were continually playing the smaller non-NBA-sized point guard Junior Harrington (listed at 6’4” but probably 6’3” in reality), who is listed at only 190 lbs. Also, Harrington is listed as having 3 years pro to Gordon’s rookie status, so maybe that’s why he played more. But usually in Summer League or even in general, it’s better to go with youth and having 3 years pro in Summer League is usually a yellow flag.

inaccurate statement.

gordon played 27.8 minutes to harrington’s 21.4

hey smartass...

I meant they played Harrington at point guard more than Gordon. You wouldn’t know that looking at stats. You would know that watching the games.

Usually when you call somebody a "smartass" without reading their post accurately....

They’ll take it a little personally. Maybe if you comment in a less derogatory manner people won’t get offended.

This just in, for his first game in the RMR

Jamont Gordon in 17min 3/8 FG 4/4FT 2 boards 2 assts 1 stl and 3 turnovers not a bad first showing. But Hendrix got us 12 boards and 10pts on 5/9 from the field, hopefully will have a banger on the bench that can play!

It's all about the killer cross-over baby!

If Hendrix

put up numbers like that at the start of Summer League, would Turiaf been offered his $17 mil????

by SuperFly on Jul 21, 2008 4:48 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Gordon

looks like a steal. Three very productive years at Mississippi St. and an alumnus of the hoops powerhouse Oak Hill Academy, which produced Josh Smith, Rajon Rondo, ‘Melo, and our very own Captain Jack.
