Thoughts on Anthony Morrow?

Sorry guys, I accidentally deleted the other fanpost, but let me reiterate.

I went to college with Anthony Morrow, and the guy is a LIGHTS OUT shooter. He shot close to if not above 50% from the 3 point range for the majority of his collegiate career at Georgia Tech. He shoots a lot of shots, and makes most all of them. He has mediocre ballhandling and defensive skills, but is a gamer, and a team player. Honestly, I see him as a pure shooter in the purest form. I think he's the second coming of Kyle Korver. I think the Dubs can get him on the cheap, as he is an automatic scorer. The dude simply does not miss. Albeit he has an awkward form, but who cares, the shot almost always goes in.

And this scoring phenomenon is not a fluke, he's been lighting it up in the ACC for his entire career. On the Dubs summer league roster, he's been amongst our leading scorers in every game. And in the Orlando league he was playing in, he was lighting it up there too as a leading scorer. I feel he'd be a solid role player, any thoughts?

And from the first few comments of the fanpost that I accidentally deleted, it looks like the Dubs fanbase would like an automatic shooter like A-Mo (his college nickname) on the roster for some bench points.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

I would have to agree

I liked what I saw in the Kings & Raptors games, he’s got a great looking shot and he seemed to play decent defense and was able to grab some rebounds as well. I was thinking that exact same thing a shooter that you could pick up for the minimum, but I’d like to re-sign Kelenna first, but we’re going to have to add 2-3 more players to fill out the roster and Morrow looks to be a good fit.

would have been a nice pickup

but heard he’s already signed to a European team. Love the nickname though with some modifications, if it’s not already pronounced like that: A-Mo (pronounced “ammo”)

this is what we needed

LAST YEAR! an actual 3 point shooter would have been terrific… as would rebounding. we were an interior rebounder and a real 3 point shooter away from a championship…

definitely!

And a post-up player, better one-on-one defenders on the perimeter and down low, better ball handling and shot selection…

And with Michael Jordan we would have won 3 championships in a row.

true

but morrow is somewhat streaky as well. From what i noticed over the last few years (I go to Georgia Tech as well) he can get hot and cold. Granted he led the ACC in 3 pt shooting percentage my freshman year (2005-2006).

i agree to a certain extent

almost every player is a but streaky though, it is just part of being human. but I think A-mo was a lot more consistent that a bunch of our other players on our GT team. But i see where you’re coming from.

This kid just did it again in RMR

10-18 from the field and 3-4 from 3 too bad he’s playing in Europe does anyone know if that’s a for sure, because it would be nice to add a wing with his shooting ability.

I didn't say anything about that

I personally would like to keep our best bench player.
