Question: If Dubz Get Brand, then what will Baron do?

I have a question for everyone that just came to me.......

If Brand signs with the Warriors, what will Baron Davis do? He ONLY verbally committed to the Clippers (Boozer did the same thing to the Cavs a few years ago and then went to the Jazz) and thus would he then back peddle and take any offer with the Warriors? Obviously, Team wise, he would be in hell with the Clippers compared to what Team the Warriors would then have.

Also, would Mullin even offer him a decent contract in that situation? (I would assume sure he would). Does the allure of still playing in Los Angeles supersede all? Will he try for the Lakers (don't know if that is even possible).

I just was wondering what you all feel WOULD and/or SHOULD happen if Elton Brand accepts the Warriors offer, me personally, I do NOT care. I love the Warriors no matter what and would be excited for the possibilities this year if we get Brand and/ maybe Baron or the possibilities for the future if we don't get them and are rebuilding because we got some young talent.

This whole situation is exciting for offseason, now we got summer league coming too!

Screw Baron

Let the little back stabber walk. We don’t want him for 5/$65 mil – he’ll only be worth the money for 2 more seasons. I really hope he ends up getting screwed over by opting out at the last minute and refusing to negotiate.

If Brand signs, we need to package Al in a trade or sign and trade (Pietrus, Barnes) for a mediocre point guard. Then lock up Monta and Beans and the W’s will at least be competitive.

honestly

Brand is staying in LA. He finally has a shot at getting somewhere with HIS team now Baron is there.

If, we get Brand.

Then trade Al for Kirk Hinrich. Lineup: Kirk, Monta, Stephen, and Andris. Bench: AR, Hendrix
Marco, Wright, Cj, (or u can can another pg) MP, (if we keep him) and Barnes. (if we keep him)

+1

he’s overpaid with several years left, and his talent has limits. better bet is to try our luck with someone young and cheap.

If Brand comes here, it can only be because we’ve renounced our rights to Baron. We’d be unable to offer him more than the MLE. Essentially, he’d be stuck looking at MLE or chosing between the off-Brand Clippers, Philly (who are probably not in the market for a point guard) and Memphis (who are not in the market for a point guard).

warriors still hold his rights

so we’d end up sign-and-trading him somewhere that needs/wants him. almost certainly to the eastern conference—maybe miami (for…?), maybe cavs (for gibson and expiring szczerbiak..?), maybe magic (for …?), possibly knicks.
