Hinrich?
How about Harrington for Hinrich?
Hinrich is definitely on the block with the drafting of Rose. The Bulls have big guys like Joakim Noah, Tyrus Thomas, and Aaron Gray who are very limited offensively.
The Warriors are in need of a legitimate point guard. Also one of Hinrich's strengths is guarding bigger guards, so he would complement Monta nicely by allowing Monta to play the 2 on offense and guard the 1 on defense.
The players have very similar contracts for the next 2 years. The difference is that after 2 years Harrington's contract expires, while Hinrich will still have 2 more years. Still, Hinrich would come at a reasonable price, especially considering that his contract actually decreases from year to year.
(I have to admit I didn't come up with this idea myself - saw it in a John Hollinger article http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&page=FreeAgency-080703 It just made a lot of sense to me so thought I should post it)

No way
Hinrich is awful do you watch any Bulls games he’s one of the main reasons they’re so inconsistent. He plays like he’s a chicken with his head cut off all out of control and spazzy, no gracias. I’ll keep Harrington for another year or so then ditch him over having Hinrich for 4 years yuck.
It's all about the killer cross-over baby!

no thanks

Hinrich
I’ love to have Hinrich on the Warriors. He’s a great defender (Second Team All-Defense last year), can run the point, and he’d obviously fill our hole at point guard. The only thing is that I don’t think the Bulls would be interested in Harrington. They have enough face-up forwards (Deng, Nocioni, Ty Thomas, etc), so I don’t think they need Al.
Right now it seems like our point guard situation is in a real mess. There are slim pickings in the free agent market (Carlos Arroyo, Shaun Livingston, Chris Duhon, etc) and we don’t really have the assets to acquire the better point guards teams have made available, like Hinrich or Raymond Felton of Charlotte.

NO
...i should just start going into each of these threads and only posting that.
but this deserves two legitimate reasons (that okafor thread was just absurd)
1) hinrich is ridiculously overrated and thinks he commands way more money than he should be getting
2) although, on one hand, i think al is the warriors biggest bartering chip and should be utilized, but he also has a lot to offer to don nelson’s game. a big man that can play the pf decently (at best) but that can also shoot the long ball.

Wouldn't mind Hinrich at all
he had a poor season last year because Skiles was jerking him around and then was fired and then they picked up L. Hughes which had to eat at his confidence a bit. Hinrich’s a good player and Harrington didn’t do shit last year either, so I’d make this swap in lieu of the the Baron debacle and our need for a PG. Who else is out there that we could realistically get in terms of PGs? Not much. Harrington’s play can be replaced by the new guys and the emergence of Bukie, Wright and Bellinelli. If we could get Hinrich for him, let’s do it. You’ll recall that Harrington played like 15-18 min. most nights.

what the deuce?
after almost 12 years of “trying to stay competitive” instead of “rebuilding”, you’d think Warrior’s fans would learn to say no to the Mookie Blaylocks, Speedy Claxtons, Bimbo Coles’, Mugsy Bogues’, and Kirk Heinrich’s of the world.
No thanks to Crawford, Ridnour, Tinsley, Crittenton (1.2 assists per game in 18.1 minutes w/ Memphis??) too.

thanks for talking sense about crit
a lot of people have been so desperate to find a big point guard with upside, that they forgot that crittenton is terrible. that upside might exist, but he’s very unlikely to ever reach it.

who then
who do you think is out there that we could get then? i wouldn’t put Bimbo Coles and Claxton in the same sentence w/ Hinrich. Hinrich is pretty good ,just coming off a bad season.

personally,
i don’t think hinrich deserves the beating he’s gotten in these posts. he had a bad year and still played solid d, but he’d be too much money for too long of a deal. livingston seems like the best risk to take. he wouldn’t be ridiculously priced and when he’s been healthy, he’s been really good. how likely is it that he stays healthy next year? no idea, but if he comes cheap it would be worth it. if we could get a middling safe bet type guy to back him up, like duhon, worst case scenario, we have a stopgap point guard situation before next year’s draft and free agency.

+1
We definitely should try and get Livingston, he is a huge point guard that combined with Monta could be a good tandem, Hinrich is decent but there is a better chance of Livingston being a lot better and he is still young. Also, it seems that Hinrich would get pushed around a lot guarding most of the people Baron guarded. We should trade Harrington thoughy, high salary, doesn’t do very much for us. As for the Brand situation keeps talking about either way I think it would be good, 100 Million is a shitload for someone coming off a huge injury. But he does rebound and score something Biedrins, can’t do whatever happens it should finally be an interesting off season for the GSW nation.

with nellie at the helm
I am confident he can turn Heimlich into a decent PG. The problem would be after nellie leaves, what do we do with him?
A lil over vet minimum salary on Starbury would be a risk i would be willing to take…

Starbury
is a huge risk. Why would we want some washed up point guard. We need a decent-good PG that can run our team.i would prefer Heinrich over him.
And BTW we shouldn’t force Monta to become a PG right now. He needs to gradually become a PG. Out of high school, he was just a undersized 2 that can really put the ball in the hoop. Chauncey didn’t become what he is now when he was Monta’s age right? We should get a vet PG that can play alongside Monta, Then when that PG needs a break, Monta can take over for some minutes. Just like with him and Baron last year. How about Carlos Arroyo? Tough, scrappy, pass-first PG. What do you guys think?
i hope we win a championship soon

I wouldn't mind Arroyo or Livingston, but check the numbers and the video...
but if he couldn’t start over Jameer Nelson, makes me wonder…?
Hinrich is a proven starting PG in this league. Before last season he avg 16pts per game and just over 6 asst per. Last year he dropped off a bit to 11 pts per and still about 6 asst per game. That’s not terrible and I’d venture to say better than Arroyo. I’m down on trying out Livingston, but think you need to peep his injury once again on YouTube – this dude is done for his career…that was a nasty, if not the nastiest injury ever in the NBA!

Hinrich
is bashed on by Chicago press for being a mental midget.
They say that he is a crybaby and that he gets flustered easily. He also picks up ticky-tack fouls in abundance and then pouts about it.
On paper, he looks solid but the Dubz would not be getting an impact player at the games most vital position in Hinrich.

Sounds like a guard version of dunleavy? I still think we can do better. If he was good enough the Bulls woulda drafted beasley instead of a point .

I think you guys are way undervaluing Hinrich
Hinrich apparently equals Sebastian Telfair now? Try to remember he is a great perimeter defender and he had three decent years offensively in a row of 15.7+ ppg and 6.3+ apg before last year when the whole Bulls team was a mess. Also he’s a 37.7% career 3-point shooter. There’s no way we could get a better point guard for Harrington. The only reason we’d even have a chance at Hinrich is because the Bulls drafted Rose.
It's almost like the Warriors have 6 guys out there... they always have a guy open! - Jon Barry commentating game 3 last year
