I met Andris Biedrins at the SF DMV today

"I got a letter from the DMV the the other day. I opened and read it, it said they were....

HOLY $#!^ IS THAT ANDRIS BIEDRINS??!

Sure enough, there I was, patiently awaiting my number to be called at  SF DMV Bureaucracy Bingo to renew my license when lo and behold who strolls by but newly re-minted  Biedrins with freshly spiked hair, a Latvia track jacket and a well fed eastern bloc bodyguard. After completing my paperwork, I went over, expressed my congrats and excitement about the what the future holds.

He shook my hand and said “Thanks. I appreciate.”

His bodyguard nodded and said “OK. No problem.”

Then I got his autograph on some available stationery (see attached).

A nice reminder that even the giants among us still need to go through the humbling process of having a horrible photo taken of themselves before getting behind the wheel.

In my case, a Honda.

In his case, a Maserati .

Nice...we should make this post

about “the times we met a warrior.”

about 3 months ago right after the season ended, i was taking the red-eye to acapulco for a bachelor’s party. we flew from SFO and had to land in houston first. just let it be known that by the time we got into houston at 6:30AM, we were drunk of our asses. walking to our next gate we stopped at the food court to get some grub. so i was waiting there and10 ft away from me this guy holding a McDonalds bag looked exactly like monta ellis. i was like…”damn, either i am drunk or that dude looks just like monta ellis.” i kept staring at him and u can tell he was occasionally staring back thinking like…um yeah, i am monta. anyways after like 2 minutes of staring, his friends showed up and he got up and and started walking, and lo and behold, there was the “warriors” logo on his warm suit. had i not been drunk i would have caught that right away.

i am the type of guy that likes to give these guys their space, so i told my cousin. he ran over there, spoke to monta, and got a pic. i asked what u talk to him bout? his response was classic.

Cousin: Monta can I get a pic with u?

Monta: Yeah

cousin: Monta, so u headed home….back to missouri huh?

Monta: yeah, Mississipi.

Cousin: Oh…yeah Mississipi.

LOL…..what and idiot, but who cares, he got a picture!!! and Monta eats Mcdonalds!!!!

Y'know that

Monta has a cousin named Ronta? Cute, huh. One of my co-workers met up with them at a club somewhere in the East Bay. Said both of them have thick Southern drawls. Hope Monta doesn’t get caught up in the club scene since he’s the $67 Million Dollar Man…

If that’s the case, Monta might end up like Javon Walker…Knock on wood…Keep you’re head on straight, Monta!!

Jim Lee is a nice guy. He was in SF a couple of years ago doing a signing at a comic book shop. It was way too crowded for my taste so my friend and I went to a nearby bar to inspect their bourbon collection. Lee managed to find himself there a couple of hours later. Really good character.

Ben Templesmith (artist “30- Days of Night” and “Fell”) was really, really cool. He volunteered to do a sketch for me when I met him.

I met Joe Montana once...

He came to FAO Schwarz while I was working there. He basically came in, picked out toys, and told his wife to pay for it and carry it to the car and walked off. CLASSIC!!!

I was thinking that he was gonna slap her on the ass on the way out just for good measure, but he didn’t.

Last week

I saw Leon Powe walking down Bay St in Emeryville with a Game Stop bag in his hands. He was yapping on the celly so I didn’t want to bother him. I wanted to congratulate him on that ring he got, but I guess they dont get theirs until opening night or something. My homie was like “he doesn’t look athletic at all”. I disagreed, dude was hella big in the shoulder pieces.

I ONCE GOT INTO AN ARGUMENT...

with Gary Radnich over a parking spot in front of his house.

I went to visit my friend who lives right across the street, and Gary ‘Fagnich’ thew a girly tantrum because i LEGALLY parked my car in front of his house… It was a public road for God’s sake. I’ll never forget it. Even though i had every right to park there, my friend had asked me to move because Baby Gary always gets his panties in a bunch when someone parks their car in the space in front of his house. I hate that guy so much…

Anyway i thought this was slightly relevant since he does report occasionally about our beloved Warriors. Still though, screw him.

J-RICH

I posted this one a while back, but I ran into J-RICH @ Club 181 in SF one Saturday night. The interesting part of my story was that they had just gotten back from SEATTLE after BARON hit the game winner in the final seconds of the game. I just congratulated him on the win.

Either he was really happy to come back home w/ a win against the SONICS, or he’s a hardcore clubber like people that go clubbing til 3am during the work week! haha =P

by scottiepimppen on Jul 30, 2008 7:50 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

yea

I think I went to that game when BD hit the gw 30 something foot bomb in the final second. But I met Mario Elie when he came over to gave a orange J-rich hand band before the game. It good to rock all Warriors gear while they on the road.

Met J-Rich

while I was at Michigan St. I was working at Meijer’s (Wal-Mart in the midwest) as an overnight cashier when he came though my checkout line. Actually he had to, since I was the only one open at 2 o’ clock in the morning. He had just gotten back from the 19&under tournament. Didn’t know exactly who he was, but he had on his Spartan Basketball gear. So I just asked him what position he played and he replied “2”. Then I asked, “You’re Jason Richardson, right?” He just smiled and nodded. What a humble guy, even at 19 years old. We just talked about the tournament as I was scanning his shampoo, soap, and deoderant.
Actually, I met quite a few Spartan hoopsters while working there. Charlie Bell, Mateen Cleaves, and Mo-Pete were the most notable ones. I also lived in the dorms where the freshman football players stayed. Down the hall from me was Sedrick Irvin (Michael Irvin’s cousin). He didn’t quite pan out in the NFL, but he was on of the top running backs in the Big Ten. Never saw him that much, since he was the BMOC and all.

kickin it in the VIP

i used to see baron, al, jax and buke all the time at boss nightclub (good reason why we didnt make the playoffs)... but i remember this one incident where i saw jrich at club NV. I just came back from a crazy game in oaktown (06-07) where jrich just hit a game winner (forgot which team)... anyways i rolled up to a synergy promotions club (asian party) on a fri-sat night as i usually do, and for some strange reason jrich was chillin in the VIP…. at an asian party. Well, i couldnt help myself… so i went over to him, told him i was at the game and congratulated him. To my surprise he told me to join him and his crew. He even poured me a few shots and offered me a sandwich wrap or fruit from his little tray thing at his table. I ended up pulling up some random groupie chick into the vip later on that night, had her take this pic… and got her number (just cuz i wanted the pic). Jrich is a pretty cool dude… humble too.. oh, aubrey from danity kane was there too… she wasnt givin me no love tho, although i did take a pic with her…

heres the aubrey one

NINERS BRASS

Right before we hired dickhead Dennis Erickson (after firing Mooch), my wife and I ate at Nicolino’s in Santa Clara… Low and behold, the table right next to us was John York, Terry Donahue, and the Defensive Coordinator from the Bears (Greg Blatche). Blatche was interviewing for the Head Coach position at the time. I’m a HUGE Niner fan, so I don’t think I heard a word my wife said all night. I was concentrating so hard on everything they were talking about!! LOL!!

The next day, Jeff Garcia RIPPED the management, he had a funny quote like: “What’s our plan? I mean, we’re interviewing this guy Blatche… I mean, I don’t even know who he is??”

Embarrasing moment was when PJ Brown had me send a pair of shoes (kids)

Basketball players

I saw Chris Gatling running around Lake Merritt once. I also saw Adonal Foyle reading a book at a Colonials donut shop in the Oakland Lake shore area. Three weeks ago in Vegas, I met O.J. Mayo at the Bellagio hotel and casino. He was there for the Summer league games. My friend and I saw him and then yelled out his name. We shook his hand and wished him luck for the coming season. The next day we went to the summer league game at the Thomas Mack center to watch the Warriros play the Mavericks. We stayed around to watch O.J. and the Griz play the Lakers. Four years ago I met Tony Paker at the Venetetian hotel. I even took a picture with him. Unfortunately, Parker was not with Eva Longaria at the time. He was with this other white chick.

Soft hands and gigantic

AB has a huge, but soft grip when I shook hands with him. I met him at a Verizon Wireless grand opening in Milpitas. The line came out of the door and snaked around to the parking lot. The picture in my profile is AB signing my Warriors shirt at that signing.

I ran into Felix Rodriguez back in 2002 at the Sports Authority in Foster City. I was pretty sure it was him at first, but wasn’t sure until I saw that his daughter had on a Rodriguez shirt. He was looking at the yellow tagged clearance shoes by the way. I said what’s up and shook his hand. A few days later, he left to go to Anaheim to play in Game 6 & 7 of the World Series.

He had 4 or 5 movies in his hand, and I was behind him in line. I said hi, shook his hand, told him I was a fan and whatever. He was just about to pay for his DVDs when some Best Buy employee walked up to him and said “Hey! I know you! You’re Chili Davis!” Joe said “No, no I’m not”. I met J.R. Rider at a barber shop in Hayward once. Arrogant, big-headed, a-hole. He was in the barber chair and my buddy asked him if he was J.R. Rider. He just had this cocky face and kept saying nope, nope. Then one of his buddies said the man’s name is Isiah. And Rider just gets a smirky grin on his face and goes yup. He just had this “too cool for you” vibe about him that turned me off to him. Athletes I met/saw

Way back when the Niners were good, I saw Lee Woodall in the parking lot of the Good Guys in Santa Clara. He was trying to get out of a parallel parking spot in his Land Cruiser and hit the parked behind him pretty badly. I didn’t know it was him till he hit the car and I walked over to see what was going on. He saw me coming and sped off. The guy looks exactly like Evander Holyfield if he got shrunk in the wash.

I met Marcus Camby in the Stoneridge mall in Pleasanton. It was really strange. People were following him around the mall but no one was talking to him. They would just whisper to each other as he walked by. It’s kinda hard not to notice a guy his size walking around the mall. This was back when he played for the Raptors. I walked up to him and said hello and asked him for an autograph. He didn’t really say anything. He just mumbled. It was my friends birthday that day so I gave him the autograph.

I met Brian Grant at a pool hall in Dublin that has since been closed. This was back when he played for the Miami Heat before being traded to L.A. for Shaq. It was the off season so I had no idea why he was in Dublin. At first I didn’t recognize him and I just thought he was some dude that looked like Bob Marley but once he lined up at the table next to me, I could tell who he was. After about an hour of playing pool and he obviously noticing me looking over every now and again, he and his party were leaving. He came up to me and said hello to me and shook my hand. I said “Hi Brian, good luck next season.” I thought it was kinda weird that he made the effort to talk to me. I didn’t want to bother him with his friends.

Sprewell

I met Latrell Sprewell when I worked for a high end car dealership in San Mateo back in 1998 I believe. He had brought in his Lamborghini for service and while he was waiting for his ride I went up to him and said hello and shook his hand. Pretty cool dude, down to earth. This was after he was suspended for choking PJ Carlesimo, so I guess he had plenty of time to do things, like get his car serviced and custom-painted and get new rims. Also met Brian Grant, Terrell Owens, Merton Hanks, Derrick Deese, Kevin Grogan, and maybe some other local sports athletes while working there. I also met Antawn Jamison once at a club called 330 Ritch in SF. Also another cool down to earth dude.

Warrior encounters

Joe Smith and his mom moved across the street from me during his rookie year. I moved to another house and Antawn Jamison moved down the street from me (he looked at the house next to mine when I was playing bball in the front yard, but ended up buying a house farther down the street).

I saw JRich and Brian Winters in Safeway at the same time one time. I would have said hi to JR, but he was on the phone the whole time.

My brother’s CYO team practiced at the same time as Chris Mullin’s kid, so I used to see Mullin there all the time… He also used to shoot at my high school while I was in middle school, so I saw him shooting there a couple times.

My best friend is friends with Gary St. Jean’s daughter, so I’ve been to their house once, but didn’t mean St. Jean.

Oh and after Webber was traded by the Warriors, my friend and I played bball in his backyard a few times, but Webber wasn’t living there anymore and the house was empty.

Other than that I played golf behind Joe Morgan and Bill Russell once. My friend and I saw Joe Morgan at the course another time and my friend asked, “Are you Joe Morgan?” and Joe just replies, “Sometimes.” It was hilarious.

The Mookie Blaylock confusion maker.

I met Don Nelson in Hawaii during the playoffs the year he left the Mavs. I went into a bar to watch the game and there were pictures of Nellie everywhere. I asked the waitress if he came there a lot and she said he was there all the time. About 5 minutes later he and his dog came into the bar to watch the game.

I keep remembering more...

My buddy’s dad is Tom Candiotti, who is the coolest, most down to earth guy ever, and I went to his house for a Christmas party and met Tim Salmon, Luis Gonzalez, and Royce Clayton. Another time I was over at the Candiotti’s I played horse with Royce Clayton.

my friend played high school basketball and the whole team got to go to a warriors game. after the game was over, they got to talk to players in the locker room and one of the players was chris mullin. the way he explained it, he said nobody on the team heard a damn word chris mullin said cuz all their jaws just dropped in amazement. he was talking to the team with his tallywacker swinging back and forth and let’s say he puts ron jeremy to shame!!!!!!

I had no idea...

...when I clicked “SUMBIT” that my modest attempt at a little yay area sports citizen journalism would blow up into such a hilarious thread. (Not unlike what Motna’s folks thought when he first got on the court.)

I’ve been reading GSOM for a while and have always thought the community here was pretty UNSTOPPABLE and glad I could finally join in.

Thanks @nuttinbutnet for the idea to expand this to a celeb-u-sighting thread, hope to see these in the future (with evidence) and glad my 1st post on GSOM was a successful rookie campaign.

Glad to be here. If there’s still cap room.

Let’s hope AB knows what he is doing and does not get married too quickly. I’m sure she was thrilled to hear of his new contract…pre-nump homie

Well....A little Late, but I've dealt w/ quite a few Warriors in the past...

Let see, I worked for the Good Guys HQ for a few years, and we had the W’s player always getting hooked up phat @ our stores.

I met Larry Hughes w/ his Girl and kid as he was trying to buy an Entertainment System the Hayward Good Guys, he was one of my favorite Warriors the time, so of course I had to hook him up a little bit…lol

We were extremely late in delivery Mike Dunleavy’s TV, a $10K one @ that, so I had to call him directly and apologize, after which I sent him a Thank you letter w/ a few thousand $ worth of gift checks. ( I kinda overdid it cuz he was a Dub, and it was his 2nd Year in the league) At the bottom, I had to empahsize….”Go Warriors!” Lol

My favorite Ex-Warriros….Mr. T…Tom Tolbert…they guy is a really cool guy, and I won tickets off his “Razor and Mr T” show on KNBR to go watch the Mosely vs. Del La Hoya II fight in Vegas….I was supposed to meet them out there to be on the Radio…but I was kinda busy (and drunk) having a blast and completely forgot, I ran into him @ a Gas Station in Alameda afterwards and he was just real cool about everything.

Oh…my boy is a Security Gaurd @ a club in Oakland, Air Lounge, right around the Warriors offices, and he does other local event….Well Stephen Jackson car(I think it was an Escalade?) Needed a jump, something wrong w/ the wiring or beat he had…and it was him, Barnes, Monta and I think Al….so my boy had to give him a jump….that’s a funny one.

Matt Barnes once. My dad owns Larry’s Tire Express in hayward and Matt Barnes had his car brought to the shop to get some tires. His black Escalade was in our garage for a good week. It was real nice with a custom grill and all. He came in to pick up the car and I got to shake his giant hand. He looks much taller in person.

Well...

Barry came out to a group home I worked at in Cupertino. He wouldn’t kneel on the lawn for the group photo with a bunch of autistic children b/c he said, “you know how much these pants cost?” We had to coax him into kneeling by getting some towels from the house. Other than that he was just alright.

Also met Tom Tolbert, Mitch Ritchmond, Don Nelson and Jim Barnett at Warriors camp in San Fransisco back in like ‘91-92. Jim Barnett can straight up ball – he ran teenagers off the court, and he was old.

The Stilt

I met Wilt Chamberlain around 1985 on a flight from SF to LA. PSA was still around, flying 727’s and we were both in the second row, across the aisle from each other. In his case, there was no seat in front of him in the first row. It was funny… his torso seems normal sized (for a tall guy), but his legs went on forever! Hence, Wilt the Stilt.

He was nice enough. But he didn’t hit on anyone during the flight, so that must have brought down his average.

I went to St Mary’s College in Moraga. Used to see almost every player from the warriors there for training camp in the summer (this was before they built that practice facility in Oakland).

Ran into Tim Hardaway at Safeway in Moraga really late at night. I was looking for munchies not sure about him.

Met Antawn Jamison the Kmart in Fruitvale after a dub game where he torched the Lakers …got a chance to talk to him a bit since he was waiting at the checkout lane behind me. He was an absolutely nice guy, really down to earth.

I live in Alameda so every once in a while I’d run into someone either from the Raiders or A’s in the area. Best place to run into bay area sports folks is during breakfast time at Jim’s Coffee Shop on Lincoln in Alameda.

Used to also see Jason Kidd during his high school time at St Joseph since my house is about 2 blocks away from that school.

I lived in Alameda way back when (in NYC now). Besides see the obvious JR Rider and Jason Kidd at high school parties and such, I also saw Tyrone Hill and Chris Gatling at Southshore Mall (not together, separate occasions). I had always wondered why anybody with an NBA salary would be at Southshore – one of the suckiest malls in America. (Check that – MB Center across from Kaiser – that’s one horrible mall, much worse than Southshore.)

It was a firework game. Back when Donyell Marshall was on the team. I look over and he is right next to me walking out after the firework show. All I could think was, wow he is trying hard to get noticed. He was wearing a warriors sweatshirt and warrior sweatpants. But as you know back then alot of people were upset with him never living up to the potential, everyone still ignored him.

I first saw him on my flight, then we were both rushing to our next flight, since we got in late. While on the train between terminals, we talked a little bit. I was hopping on a connecting flight in Detroit back to SF a few years ago when I hear the counter attendent announce “Mr. Steve Mariucci, please come to the counter”. I was reading something at the time, so it didn’t really register what I actually heard. I look up and don’t think anyone else noticed as well. A few seconds later, I see Mooch running up with his family.

He got in the plane way after me and walked all the way to the back, like 5 rows from the bathroom. I gave him a nod when he walked by. This was right after he got fired by the Lions so I guess he was pinching pennies. I ran into him again at the baggage carousel and said what’s up.

a couple

1) Nizzario’s on Geary, at around 3 in the morning, I ran into Beindris/Baron David/Tskitshvili (sp?) after a game @ SAC. Baron was as high as a kite. AB/NT were cool. The stretch coach was the designated driver…I apologized to him for not recognizing him off the bad. Asked bdiddy for a picture and he said “aw man i don’t like to take pics when i’m a little tipsy…how about a knuckle-knock?” which was MORE than fine with me! biendris was mobbing the cayane porsche, which i heard he totalled on 580 last year.

2) Met Mickael Pietrus at the Oakland Airport…we were both flying to Las Vegas. Took a picture with him, cool ass dude. Then he asked me for help on the terminal. He was completely on the wrong side of the airport…cracked me up. If any warrior was going to be completely loss at the airport, wouldn’t it be MP??? Then, in Vegas, that wknd I ran into him again. He was shooting some sort of promo or spot for/at Ceasars Palace. He rememberd me and we high-fived. Coolest dude ever.

3) Met Pietrus AND Tony Parker hanging out out on the street, Broadway in SF. Shook Tony’s hand but for the life of me I blanked on Pietrus. They must’ve been cruisin for chicks because this was pre-Eva…

"They can trade me," Bonds said. "I don't think they will, though. It's not like I want to be traded, man. I'm a Giant. I'm stuck here till the end."

Whole mess o dubz....

...were chilling one night at the xyz bar at the W hotel in SF a few years back. I was having a few drinks at the bar with a business associate and noticed that there was a private party for the Warriors in the upstairs lounge. Being the huge Dubs fan that I was/am I was intrigued as to who might be at the party but it was a private affair and so just stayed at the bar and kept drinking….At some point in the night, some of the Dubz made their way down to the main bar to mix it up. Lo and Behold, who ambled up to the bar and sat down just to my right?......

Good ole’ Uncle Cliffy (Cliff Robinson) sat right next to me at the bar for about an hour at least – he was chillin with a nice looking lady. I shook his hand and said what’s up, he was real cool. At different times other Warriors players came by to talk to Cliffy such as Dun, Avery, Bimbo, Troy. They were all goofy and yapping to each other, but were not really mixing it up with us common folks besides Uncle Cliffy…

One thing I remember about Avery Johnson is how big his mouth was in real life!!

Another time I ran into Barry Bonds and his dad at the golf course. Barry was waiting to tee off and I came about 10 feet from him (not even asking for an autograph or anything)
- I just said “hey Barry, thanks for the great seaon this year…even though you guys did not make it to the playoffs it was exciting and super close so thanks again” – and Barry gave me his patented 1000 yard stare -like he is looking straight through me and can’t tell where the voice that just spoke to him came from… and did not even nod his head, or say “thanks dude” or anything but just turned away without even acknowledging that I was there….what a D*&K

yea but

it’s one thing to be an arse to some dude who is getting in your grill asking for an autograph but how bout a simple “thanks buddy” or a nod even to someone who keeps their distance and respects your personal space but is kind enough to say nice things to you.

If somebody in the street who you do not know makes eye contact and tells you that he thinks your new pair of Jordans or your t-shirt is cool, you would likely say….”thanks dude” or nod, or give a thumbs up or something…you would probably not just ignore the complement and turn around and leave the guy hanging….which is exactly what Barry did.

When I tell folks this story, I always mention that I still think that he is the best pure hitter ever to play the game and that I could care less about his attitude when it comes to his profession.

But no doubt that he is one of the biggest jerks ever….

Workin in Honolulu....

... at LIDS in the major mall here, I’ve ran into a bunch of athletes. Pretty much every year during the week of the Pro Bowl all the players, plus their wives/entourage role in and buy up everything.

My personal stories include sellin hats to JRich (it was a busy day and I didnt even notice him in the store til he asked me if we had any more of a hat in the back). Got his autograph, plus he signed three other hats for a program we ran for kids with cancer.

The funnest for me was when Joe Smith and his wife came in. I talked to then for a half hour, and he left with over thirty hats! Made my sales numbers for the month on him, plus him and his wife were great people. He even told me to “make sure you finish that college degree”. Funny thing is, Im 6’3”, but standing next to Joe I didn’t feel that much smaller. He definitely was a lot shorter than 6’10”, probably closer to 6’7”.

I also met Chad Johnson, and I wasn’t a fan of his outspoken ways; but the dude is funny as hell. Love the guy now! Funny how meeting an athlete can completely change your opinion of them.

Back when Cal still played in Harmon Gym and tickets were hard to come by you could still get some game day in the season ticket “buy back” line. I found myself in line behind Willie McGee. Apparently, he’s got something of a college hoops addiction.

In college, I lived across the hall from Bernardo Harris (LB for the Packers about 8 years ago) and regularly beat later Packers FB William Henderson at Fuseball. He was a sucker for the hard shot from the 2-backs. I also sat behind George Lynch in a film class. Yeah, almost entirely empty theater and the 6-8 guy decides to sit down in front of me. Classic.

Monta at Chilli's in Union City.

Last year, I was having lunch the the Chilli’s at Union Landing in Union City on Sunday afternoon, watching the Raiders/Niners (or Niners/Seahawks, I don’t remember) game at the bar. Two friends of mine were with me and we were talking sports.

Two young guys come in, with tons of jewelry on, and sit down at one of the booths beside us. Well, I wasn’t really paying attention to them, when the topic of the Warriors came up with me and my friends.

I remember bashing Mike Dunleavy and saying all sorts of terrible things about Dun. Loudly. Everyone in the surrounding area could hear me. Well, a friend of mine gave me the “hey dumbass!” look and scribbled on a napkin that Monta was sitting beside us.

I peered over and sure enough, Monta and a friend of his (who looked about his age) were having burgers. He didn’t seem to interested in defending his teammate.

Anyway, on his way out, we all kind of acknowldged him and he seemed pretty mellow, but we didn’t bother asking for autographs or photos.

The funny thing was, after he left, the waitress who served his table went back to clean up and picked up the tab. She blurted out really really loudly, “What a cheapskate, he didn’t even leave a tip!” Everyone at the bar laughed, and we all booed him, even though he was long gone by then.

Me and Nash on my honeymoon

Saw steve Nash on my honeymoon in Kauai last september at three different places. Told him I liked his game and to go easy on the Dubs. My wife laughed at me and he didn’t go easy on Dubs.

my sister..

my sister said that she used to hang out with half the phoenix suns roster whenever they came to play in the bay. funny story how it happened.

so my sister’s friend asked her to show his friend “steve” around SF. pretty harmless, my sister knows the city like the back of her hand and she has cute friends. it turns out “steve” is Steve Nash, and brought with him Raja Bell and Barbosa. They went bar-hopping all night, and continued to do so whenever they came into town.

I gave her the 3rd degree for not coming back with any autographed merchandise. she also got to meet B Diddy and a couple other Warriors that she couldn’t remember the names of.

I met........

I met a handful of Warriors in the past 2 years, during the whole playoff season especially.

I worked at the Hegenberger T-Mobile and literally every Warrior including J-Rich, Al Harrington , Monta, and Baron Davis came by.

It was super cool but Monta had come in and I was the guy to help in one day and he was trying to buy a internet card. I had to be truthful to him and tell him our cards were really lousy (which they were) but anyways he was rockin his warriors velour sui and just wearing a warriors hat. I was really suprised to talk to him but he had a deep accent and I just said have a great season. My coworker still talks to him when it comes to that shit.

I met Al Harrington again at work, he needed a car charger for his blackberry, he’s tall and pale. He again was really cool, signed an autograph and you know the same ol deal. He didnt talk so much, but his tattoos were sick in person.

Finally I met Pietrus at the end of the Knicks game last year at Wingstop in the Hegenberger plaza. He was ordering food and nobody noticed him, even the cashier was like PIET.. WHAT? Because she didnt understand him and he ended up writing his name on a piece of paper. I didnt greet him until he came back for his food. I asked for his picture and asked him if he wanted to be traded. I think my girlfriend said he didn’t but you know, things happen. He was cool as hell, and was rockin some LV slippers and all that good stuff. He came in a new BMW suv and had a driver.

Super!

While working room service in a hotel in Vegas,

I met Adonal Foyle at the end of the 2004 season. He had not signed his terrible extension yet. I had a 10 minute conversation with him about the season that passed. I told him I was a big Warrior fan and he shook my hand, smiled, and said thanks for the support. Before I left I told him I hoped that he would re-sign with the warriors (I really didn’t mean it, I was trying to make conversation) He told me maybe it will happen. 2 weeks later he re-signed with the warriors. I tell that story to my friends telling them it was because of me that Adonal Foyle resigned with the Warriors that year.

Later that month I also met Michael Vick. He actually had a conversation with me too. We talked about why he was in Vegas, the Bahamas, hurricanes, (there was a hurricane headed to the Bahamas and that is why he was in Vegas), and his watch. There was no mention of football throughout our conversation.

Out of all the athletes I have met, Michael Vick and Adonal Foyle were the nicest people I have ever met because they were so down to earth. Too bad he is in jail now.

For all you chinese out there, I met Nicholas Tse in a bathroom in Chinatown and my mom grew up with two of the band members of Beyond when they were in Hong Kong.

Nic and Beyond

I am Chinese and I happen to be a big fan of Beyond. It’s too bad Wong Ka Kui had to pass away so soon. Beyond was never the same after his passing.

They’d probably still be famous to this day. But yeah, my mom grew up with Ka Kui and Ka Keung in Hong Kong. When Ka Keung comes to visit, he always drops by my house, and we always go to see him when we’re in Hong Kong. Crazy stuff. I remember when I was a kid and people would always ask to get a picture with him, I always wondered why all these people want to take pictures with my mom’s friend. Haha, I realized later on that he was part of one of the most famous Hong Kong bands in Hong Kong music history…

LOL

This thread started as an Andris Biedrins DMV sighting, transformed into a ‘i met so-and-so sports athlete’ and suddenly took a turn for ‘my moms is tight with so-and-so Hong Kong music dude’.

WTH is next?

I pray i never have to use a gun again...

...unless i'm at a strip club parking lot...

...and somebody tries to run me over with their car...

...But how often does that happen??
