THIS is the last straw!!! I officailly HATE Baron Davis

Now...I know it was a business decision, I know your an LA Kid.  But if there's one thing I had more that the LA Lakers and the LA Clippers in General, it's this.....

http://www.nba.com/clippers/photogallery/bdavis_lad_080730_1.html?rss=true

This adds insult to injury in my book, and I KNOW some of you really won't mind but this, THIS....this is too much. I officially RENOUCE Baron Davis! I wasn't going to boo you, I wasn't going to knock what you did for you what did to Dubs Franchise, I would have even applauded you when you came to the Bay.  BUT NOW, now it's ON.  Thats TWO of my teams you've dissed now....and I can't takes no more!

It's OVER!

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

ALL YOU GUYS ARE STUPID FOR HATING THE GUY

that put the warriors back on the map. i bet none of you guys would be warrior fans right now if the warriors weren’t winning. give him some love!! put your self in his position. lets reverse it. if you played for the clips and made them a playoff team and they d!ck e d you during negotiations and then the warriors come calling willing to offer you a lot more money to go back home to all your family and friends, i bet you’d jump on that in a heart beat. if it wasn’t for the guy you’re hating, we would still be like the bucks and oracle will still be half full.

come on

it should be the sight of him in a clippers’ jersey that makes you mad (or if you’re like me, sad and introspective). i couldn’t care less who my favorite or ex-favorite players want to root for in other sports. either way, i’ll be cheering when baron comes back to the bay. until tipoff, that is.

oakland...

is a real city, with personality, with flaws, not like SF. Man, I do not enjoy that city. I like the warriors because they represent Oakland.

What do the Giants represent? How can you have watched the whole Bonds fiasco without losing all interest in them as a team?

by kinetic on Aug 1, 2008 1:01 AM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

And the A’s had no one on roids either, right?

by faust10 on Aug 1, 2008 4:04 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Dude, that makes no sense. Why would you lose ALL interest in an entire team for what one guy did? Would you root for the A’s if Chavvy was on roids? If McGwire had played his entire career out with the A’s, no doubt you wouldn’t like McGwire, but you’d still be an A’s fan no?

If you’re a real fan, you’re not going to let one player change your idea about an entire ballclub bro

by i wish we were good on Aug 1, 2008 10:25 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

it's not just the one guy,

it’s watching a franchise submit to the one guy, and then make horrendous baseball decisions for the past decade.

OH MY JEEBUS!!!!!

As a Giants fan… I’m naturally inclined to hate Baron Davis now! F’ the Dodgers!

As a Warrior fan, I’m appreciative of what he did…. fortunately, I am a Warrior fan first and foremost… so I will show him apprciation

how someone can support that GIANT mess of a situation over there (Sabean and Magowan have got to be morons) I’ll never understand.

by kinetic on Jul 31, 2008 3:19 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

our mess?

we were in the world series 5 years ago…..you guys trade away your best players as soon as they develop. The decade of being in contention may have finally caught up to us and caused a bad recent stretch, but its the price we pay. We’ll be back on our feet with Timmy, Matt and AnVil leading the charge soon. Oh, and we still do a pretty nice job of packing the park which A’s fans cant manage to do even when they are competitive.

by sam23 on Jul 31, 2008 9:10 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Amen

Yeah I’m still pissed about Zito but at least we go out and get players instead of trading em away. Still laughin over ya’ll trading Tejada. I’ll never understand.

by Captain Jack on Jul 31, 2008 11:15 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

whoa...

really? you think the Giants are going to be in contention any time soon? Really? Their farm system is a joke. There’s one decent guy in the Giants farm system (Schierholtz) and a bunch of nothing. They haven’t produced a decent bat in…forever? Don’t say Pedro was a decent bat either.

So you say the Giants are better because they promoted a roid-fueled record chase that led to a new ballpark and yuppie new fans?

by kinetic on Aug 1, 2008 1:04 AM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

So you say the Giants are better because they promoted a roid-fueled record chase that led to a new ballpark and yuppie new fans?

excuse me, but the roid-fueled record chase started AFTER the ballpark was built.

get your facts straight. lol.

the A’s aren’t doing much better than the giants either, so i don’t see why you’re all even arguing about who’s going to the playoffs in the next few years. bottom line: both teams are gonna suck, regardless of which farm system is better.

by jchao204 on Aug 1, 2008 3:16 AM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

the A's

have a STACKED farm system. Granted, their major league club isn’t looking too good, but in the next couple of years they’re going to be great and very young. The Giants big league club looks terrible and their farm system is even worse. The A’s will be contenders probably as soon as next year. The Giants will be terrible for a LONG time.

by kinetic on Aug 2, 2008 5:38 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

nope

while you werent looking our farm system got pretty solid. Granted most of it is at the low levels, but help is on its way, and we CAN sign a free agent difference maker or trade for a vet. In fact, just let us know when Barton, Buck, Gonzalez or Gallagher get too good to play for you anymore. Might as well change the team name to the Quadruple A’s.

by sam23 on Aug 5, 2008 9:46 AM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

lincecum

is great. He’s the only bright spot on the roster.

by kinetic on Aug 2, 2008 5:37 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

false

their farm system is no longer a joke. You’d be hard pressed to find a team other than the Rays with better pitching in their system, and we actually have several very good hitters in the low levels. I just have a little more hope since its actually feasible we may make a trade to get BETTER rather than just younger in the next several years. Have fun trying to bump past the Angels with a squad of 24 year olds for the next decade.

I really do hate the Dodgers, and I have friends who are Dodger fans who hate the Giants, and I have to hear it from them….now..If Baron had join the Lakers, I would have hated him off the bat, but the Clipers….ehhhh. Now to see him through out the first pitch against a Bay Team, it could have been the A’s and I still would have been pissed.

Now, I hate the Angels..but I could have lived w/ that…but the Dodgers! LOL…I know most of you’all aren’t really trippin off it, just thought it was funny to see him do that.

OH! And now the Dodges get Manny Ramirez! I can’t win today!

by esco41510 on Jul 31, 2008 2:58 PM PDT reply reply   0 recs

the Giants...

aren’t going to be relevant for years. It’s not like Manny Ramirez is single-handedly going to keep the Giants from the playoffs or something. The people you should really be angry with are Magowan and Sabean.

by kinetic on Jul 31, 2008 3:21 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Yeah...

The Warriors weren’t relevant for late ‘90s and the earlier part of the century… it didn’t make me any less of a fan then! Why would I be less of a Giants fan because they currently suck… I still hate the Lakers just as much and if I were to see Jamarcus Russell wear a Laker jersey, I’d boo the ish out of him for about a game or two… maybe even more!

by Mr. Monday Night on Jul 31, 2008 3:38 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

I'm just saying...

don’t get down about the Ramirez trade. It really doesn’t make a difference to the Giants at all. Plus, you really think someone from the NL west is gonna make any noise in the playoffs? It’s gonna be one and done.

by kinetic on Jul 31, 2008 3:45 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Oh... the Ramirez trade...

That was bullcorn. But I’m not stressing about that. I’m stressing about Baron throwing a pitch for the Dodgers against the Giants! DAMN HIM!

by Mr. Monday Night on Jul 31, 2008 5:44 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

THIS IS DISGUSTING

i can understand baron throwin out the 1st pitch at the dodgers game…i think he might have thrown out a pitch or two for the giants and dodgers…?

but to do it at a game where the dodgers were PLAYING THE GIANTS is a disgrace. just plain rude.

FUCK THE DODGERS (and baron too)

dude,

who are the giants going to trade? Winn? Fred Lewis, the best 28-year old prospect ever? The Giants don’t have any assets outside of Cain, Lincecum, and Sanchez.

Kinetic...

I agree….The Giants Management are morons @ this point. However, like a loyal Warriors fan that I am during the Reign/Wrath of Cohan…I remain true to my squads. Plus I think it’s JUST as difficult to be an A’s fan? I mean, how hard is to to like a Team that gets rid of ALL the fan favorites? It’s just as hard!

by esco41510 on Jul 31, 2008 3:26 PM PDT reply reply   0 recs

I enjoy getting to know the young guys...

and really my biggest problem with the Giants is their fan base. I have no problems with old school, hardcore SF fans, but the yuppies that fill that ballpark I could really live without. You don’t see those at A’s games.

Boo Baron

That was the last straw. Leaving the bay was a business decision, and I can’t blame him, although I can still be mad, and becing a dodger fan is not shocking saying he’s from LA. But it’s the fact he had to do it against the giants and the fact that he handled leaving the bay in a way that screwed us over, by opting out so late, which gave us little time to plan things(but give mullins props for rebounding so nicely) that angers me most. Plus, I’d boo any dodger fans. Boo Baron Davis and make him wish he never left the bay!

According to the comminsioner of the nfl, 104 people retired last year. 7 due to age, and the rest because of Patrick Willis

by montasmob69 on Jul 31, 2008 6:58 PM PDT reply reply   0 recs

you guys really thing Baron...

planned this all out? You think he waited until the Dodgers were playing the Giants to try and stick it to the Bay Area one last time? That’s totally insane, he has much better things to do with his time, like make documentaries and hilarious parodies with Steve Nash.

by kinetic on Jul 31, 2008 7:49 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

you really think Baron...

is unaware of the Giants/Dodgers rivalry especially among the fans? He played in the Bay Area long enough to be aware of how the fans of the bay would take it. And if he wasn’t aware then even that goes to show you how much he really cared about being a sports figure here.

I pray i never have to use a gun again...

man...

some PR guy called him up, said, “hey, we’d love for you to throw out the first pitch, when would be a good time for you?”. B-Diddy, goes, oh, I’m gonna make those bay area fans hate my guts, I’m gonna really stick it to them, tee-he-he. No. They picked a game and it happened to be a Giants-Dodgers game.

It’s just totally ludicrous for anyone to think that he did it just to insult the bay area.

by kinetic on Jul 31, 2008 8:20 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

no no

Not saying that he did it to stick it to bay area fans, just saying that he was defintiely aware that it was a Giants game and he was most likely aware of how bay area fans would react to it but did it anyway. Athletes are sports fans too, so they understand these kinds of things more than you give them credit for. BD is an intelligent man. I have a hard time believing he would be oblivious to the expected fan reacation.

Athletes are sports fans too

Maybe Boom just wanted to see the Giants while they were in town? Throwing out the first pitch doesn’t mean much to the visiting team, it’s a ceremony for the game and has nothing to do with the visitors.
