UP in the rafters
Just got done reading the whole Jrich brouhaha and whoa! Anyway just to lessen the agitation and hatred amongst all of us, let me share something that I was discussing with a buddy of mine a few weeks ago.
Whose number should be next to be retired up in the rafters of Oracle? Here's some candidates...
17 Mullin
10 Hardaway
23 Richmond
13 Marciuilonis (can u retire 13 twice?)
20 Sleepy Floyd
Don Nelson
Frank Mieuli
Jim Barnett (microphone)
Active players
5 Davis
23 Richardson
8 Ellis
15 Biedrins
Mullin should be the next one, followed by former owner Mieuli (sp?) everyone else is up for debate, especially BD. Hopefully Monta and Biedrins would somewhat live up to their massive contracts and have a productive career with the warriors (whew that was hard to spit out). Who's next? anyone else?
This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Davis wasnt here long enough to retire his number, although he will always be a very memorable and unforgettable warrior

I love JR, as a person he is a role model, as a Bball player he is and has always been streaky...
His inconsistent performance is why he was traded and his number will never be retired here, he was a class act but so was adonal, JR had glimpses of greatness, but in the end is too inconsistent to take his team to a championship.

Mullin - no questions asked
Mullin made the most of his ability. He was all about taking the right angles (when getting shots off and making plays) and BBall I.Q. He had quick hands (with slow feet) and just knew how to play. I didn’t appreciate him enough during his career but looking back he was a great player.

Mullin is the only guy that is even close to deserving number retirement. No, J-Rich doesn’t deserve to have his jersey retired, no, Baron Davis doesn’t deserve to have his jersey retired. When management is as incompetent as it was for the last 12 years, and the players fix said incompetency, it doesn’t mean that they deserve jersey retirement. Sorry.

Go look at the numbers – Mullin was the best Warrior whose jersey isn’t in the rafters – period.

Mullin and Hardaway
should definately be retired it was a shame that Claxton ever wore number 10 what a disgrace to one of the best point gurads in the league. I will disagree with Sprewell since he basically was the reason Timmy got traded and then the next season choked the coach and ruined my team for several more years.
It's all about the killer cross-over baby!

Run TMC and JRich. I wouldn’t retire Davis. Yeah he helped the team a lot but he wasn’t here for very long and the way he left the W’s wasn’t the best. Retire Foyle’s number cause I love the guy and he was on the team for so long, regardless of his production.

Mieuli
I think they already raised a banner for him, but new management took it down. I remember a banner at the old arena with a silhouette of him… face and hunting hat.

Lets not
Retire most of these. Sleepy, Mully I can agree with but I can’t say the rest I would like to see retire. When Davis’ jersey is retired LeBron and Dwade will be wearing the Dubs jerseys

But with them again handing out the number 21, my hopes have been dashed.

possibly mullin, monta and/or biedrins
one of them or all of them need to lead this team to a NBA finals to be considered in my opinion.

Let’s retire Mike Dunleavy’s jersey. And let’s also retire the ?least relevant Warrior in history? Keith McLeod. He was part of a trade but in terms of name recognition…

I don't get the fascination with this Franco Finn character.
What does he actually do? He looks corny and I have no need to see or hear him at the games.

+1 Agreed
What he should do, is be the one to really gt the crowd going on their feet and get them really pumped up during key games rather than having to have the players stand there waving their arms upward!!!
Franco is purely there it seems to do sponsor giveaways….he short,..... He sucks!
They need someone new to get the house jumpin…..”cough, cough…ahem… big silly grin”

The original draft picks
Penny Hardaway & Vince Carter, before we traded them away for Webber & Jamison. Can’t forget about the #1 pick Joe Smith…

SLEEPY...
wore #21, not #20. I think that Run-TMC should have their numbers retired together. As much as I’d like to see BD’s number retired, I doubt it’ll happen. I’d like to see his number retired with Stack Jack’s. Also, if Monta continues to get better and better, everyone knows #8’s going up in the rafters too.
