Nellie smokes Cuban, again
"'This was not so much a legal defeat for Cuban as it was an old-fashioned ass-whupping,' said John O'Connor, Nelson's lawyer. 'We couldn't have done any better. This is a home run.'"
Just two years removed from the epic 2007 playoff series, Nellie gets the better of Cuban again, this time in the courtroom. The result: an extra $6.3 million in Nellie's bank vault once he rides off into the Maui sunset.

"it was an old-fashioned ass-whupping"
Is that a legal term?

Most important takeaway
Nelson risked his career and relationship with the owner and $6M in deferred compensation to protect the career of Dirk Nowitski. He promised Dirk’s father he would look after him like his own son bringing him to the NBA. Dirk is a quality individual who spent the summer after the duality of embarrassing himself in the playoffs and winning the competitive MVP title backpacking Australia. This is an amazing story and proves that Cuban is a bona fide jerkoff trying to bully his way to get what he wants. He demanded his employees risk their careers for his own glory. What a tool. He’s a great entrepreneur and has some interesting insights on his blog about bootstrapping models, but again, they only puff his own ego as a self-made man, while we know there are skeletons in those closets as well.
