What about Al Harrington for Ron Artest?
I have objected to Ron Artest before, but maybe this could work. This of course would only work if we signed Okafor, Brand or Smith, but then we could have jackson and artest share the 2-3 spots with artest defending the other teams best player and have monta as our point. Then Biedrins and the nw PF up front.
financially, this could help us too, ron's contract is about 2 million less than Harrington's so we'd have 2million more to sign a power forward.
Also, I don't see Harrington pushing us over the edge this season and I artest clearly hates his team. Maybe if we take on artest for a year he will like it and want to come back and play hard for us. He has never really fit in on a team well, maybe he'll find that with us. Either way, this year is about shaping a new team, and we'll have more cap room now, and even more cap room at the end of the season. He only has one year left too.

ummm...
Why would Sac-Town do this? Even though Artest is doubting his “not opting out decision”, he’s still a upgrade over Al. Ron-Ron is a a great defender that is aggressive off the bounce(we need someone like him) who is strong and big enough to defend both F positions. Al is just a SF in a PF’s body that can score but is not a good defender or rebounder. I would love if this trade happened, but i doubt it will.
But then again, the Queens are dumb enough to draft Jason Thompson in the lottery. Make it happen Mully!!!!!
i hope we win a championship soon

Why would Sac-Town do this?
Do they need a TMNT? do they have any interest in homeboy Barnes? How bout Randolph for Ronron?

no way
We saw what happened in Indiana when you pair up Stephen Jackson with Ron Artest, no way would we benefit from two erratic, emotional players. Artest doesn’t help with what we have trouble with rebounding and now a PG. Nor do I believe that adding Artest will make us a good defensive team, we are an offensive team as long as we have Nelson as coach and as such, we should look to trade for offensive players.

but it would make us at least 1/5 of a defensive team. There’s not many players better than Ronron when he wants to be.

lol hahahaha yea exactly
beat me to it… If no one plays defense aside from Ron Ron… that means NO ONE PLAYS DEFENSE completely lol why is he going to work extra hard if he’s in a system that doesn’t care

Without Baron to regulate
and vouch for Nellie I wouldn’t risk it. If Baron were here, I would be more inclined. Without him, this place becomes a powder keg.

i think they would do it in a heartbeat.
Ron Ron already said he regrets not opting out, which means they’re looking to trade him ASAP. Harrington is productive, plays Artests’ position, versatile, and most importantly, his contract expires in LeBron’s 2010, which makes his contract very valuable

It's possible but I really don't think
Sacramento has their eyes set into getting a bidding ticket for LeBron James… I see them more on the terms of rebuilding their pretty descent to good franchise… unless they would consider using Harrington as a trading chip… but that too seems like an awful lot of work just to make space for someone… Maybe we should just keep Harrington… then if it’s so valuable aye? lol But naa I’d say it’s slim to impossible to see LeBron over here in the land of the WARRIORS!!!

yeah. The cap space might be valuable, but I have a tough time seeing Lebron going to a small market like Sacto for any amount of money.
