CJ Watson movement

Why isn't anyone talking about CJ Watson? This guy put up beast numbers while he was in the D-League and honestly... Basketball is basketball. If you can put those numbers up against people that know the game, then you got game. He put up 26.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists with 90% freethrows. Yeah I understand he's small but wow 2 inches smaller than BD and without the ass. Hes got way better bball IQ than Ellis at the point and he can knock down the 3. Hes cheap. I can see him as the next Rondo and surprise everyone. I can already see the article with Watson on the front page.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Theres a reason he went undrafted

I like the guy a lot, but he will never be starting point guard material. I’d much rather have Jackson running the point. He’s good for 10-15 minutes a game. Wouldn’t call him a playmaker or leader, which a point guard should be. His body type is similiar to Rondo, but he doesn’t have athleticism like him, which is Rondo’s best skill. And I still can’t get over him taking #23.

I can see him as the next Rondo

Can you also see KG, Pierce, and Rayray on the Warriors? If not then get outta here. A Rondo V.2 isn’t gonna carry just any team to the playoffs , Watson is a pretty good backup but not gonna be our savior, if only because he doesn’t have the experience. Wait for him to put in a couple of improving seasons before calling him the new messiah.

I can’t see him as the next Rondo. Rondo’s a good defensive player who grabs rebounds. He’s a much, much better assist man than Watson. Numbers don’t tell it all, but just by the numbers, Rondo’s about three times as productive as Watson. Given that Rondo’s got a solid defensive reputation and two years ago (i.e. before Garnett and Allen were there) was a +/- stud, I’d say there’s very good evidence that Rondo’s more than just an interchangeable cog in Boston’s operations. Watson? So far we’ve seen a guy who plays at a very, very mediocre level as a backup. Mediocre ain’t terrible, but it ain’t great neither.

I never said hes gonna be our savior but he sure as hell can play the point and at a near nothing price. Well… honestly I think were gonna be just like the celtics next season. We have Watson who is Rondo, Jackson who is Pierce, Belli who is Allen, Brand/Wright 1/2 of KG, Hendrix matches with Leon Powe… It may be just me being a crazy loving warriors fan but… geez… I believe.

lol

Very “Skeptic”, yet funny. I hope they squirt their way to the playoffs and shock the hell outta people.

agreed

start the ‘young guns’ movement. you started “the thing” this year Brit. considering it is doubtful for us for us to land brand, we will be a team laden with young talent. anyone else we sign-even if we sign one of the RFAs-will be young…. ‘young gun’ movement is all encompassing and starts NOW!

1/2 of kg

haha 1/2 of kg is where the problem is. also belli = 1/8 of allen is also a problem

hehehe

you know I started laughing right when I read, “Yeah I understand he’s small but wow 2 inches smaller than BD and without the ass.”

I forget which game, I think it was vs. Chicago when he had the shoulder wrap that sorta extended down his upper arm? Well, my sister goes, “damn, BD got ass! It’s so bubbly. AND why does he look so broken?” Keep in mind she doesn’t know too much about basket ball. She goes on to say, “how does guy have such a bubbly butt and how does he play with that thing on his shoulder?”

I say, “umm… hunnie, those are butt pads”

hehehe, humor me :)

Anyhow, I like CJ Watson. I think he’s a decent player, not exactly starter material YET, but a serviceable back up PG. I don’t think I’ve seen enough of him to actually judge him. I will keep a close eye on the summer league games to see how CJ, Marco, Brandan, and the two new rookies handle themselves =)

talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish

I dont think

anyone is really opposed to bringing Watson back, just that most of us dont think he’s a starter…...Ramon Sessions Movement!

We still need a pointguard

But there is no way in hell Nellie is going to get rid of Watson because there is no other player that can play the point. It’s either they sign another PG or Watson. So it’s almost guaranteed we’ll bring him back.
