What the Warriors should do
This offseason the Warriors should not try to get Elton Brand or Maggette because honestly that is not going to make us a contender. What they should do is try to make a major run at Josh Smith or Andre Iguodala, but most likely they're not going to get either one. So they should try to use this season to develop our young guys and keep guys like Jackson to help mentor and show them how it's done. They should also look to trade some of our vets like Harrington and get some good young players in return to help build a good young team for the future. Next offseason they really shouldn't try to get any big names in free agency because they are either too old for our young team or they don't fit what we need (Kobe Bryant neither too old and fits what we need but he's probably gonna stay with the lakers, Carlos Boozer, Allen Iverson, Ron Artest, Richard Hamilton, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, Andre Miller, Lamar Odom and Rasheed Wallace). All they should do is just keep on doing the same as the previous year. Then in 2010 they should really make a run at some guys. They will have a bunch of money to spend because they didn't spend it this year and Al will be gone and Jackson becomes a free agent. Their are some really good free agents that year but they should only go after certain ones. Let's be honest, although it would be great to sign LeBron, I hate to say it but it is very unlikely that they could get him because he's either going to the Nets, Knicks, or maybe resigning (doubt it).So here's the complete list of free agents in 2010, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Redd. In my opinion I think they should go after either Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and/or Amare Stoudemire depending on how the Warriors younger post players like Brandan Wright, Anthony Randolph, and Richard Hendrux have developed, as well as future draft picks. If they went after Wade and were to succesfully sign him, then assuming that Monta has become a solid point guard, they would have a great backcourt. If guys like Brandan Wright turn out to be busts then they could try to go after Amare or Bosh.
The ideal 2010 Warriors starting lineup: PG: Monta Ellis, SG: Dwayne Wade, SF: Anthony Randolph, PF: Brandan Wright, C: Andris Biedrins

D-Wade
he’s either staying in Miami for the extra money and extra year they can offer or going to a big market team that loses the LeBron derby. Guys like Wade, Bosh, Amare, and Deron Williams are almost as big of pipe dreams as LeBron-they simply arent gonna happen. The only guys I see on that list that could have some interest in the the Warriors are west coast guy Richard Jefferson and Yao due to the large asian-american fan base. Maybe Dirk if Nellie is still hangin around in some sort of front office capacity. The rest of those guys will be pretty old, some may be retired by then. If we cant grab a developing young guy before he hits superstardom we have to concentrate on drafting well and using our tradeable assets well.
