Basketball is played for the love of the game not for the money

Baron, if you read this. That message was just for you. I know it is kinda to late but I just gotta say it. If I played in the NBA I wouldn't ask for so much money if I don't deserve it. If you were gonna opt out then you shoulda at least told us BEFORE the draft so we coulda got a PG and not be stuck in this hole. Thank you for all the things you did for us but I hate you right now

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

WRONG

If you’re talking about the sport of basketball itself, then yes, people play it because they love it. But those who are good enough go pro for the money. How much money they ultimately want when they make it to the pros depends on the player, but, to paraphrase everyone’s favorite former Warrior, in the end they all have families that need to be fed.
