Pietrus reuniting with Foyle

Sources have confirmed to RealGM's Jarrod Rudolph that the Orlando Magic will sign free agent wing Mickael Pietrus to a contract on Wednesday.

Terms of the deal are not yet known and we will be delivering updates as we learn more.

Not that any of us were expecting him to be back, but it looks like he'll be reunited with Citizen Folye. I think Pietrus will fit in nicely with Rashard and Hedo.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Dang..

His defense and rebounding will be missed…but he’s been given too many seasons to progress, he won’t flourish under the Warriors anyways. Looks like we have even MORE cap space. Still, he’ll be missed!!

I make love to pressure - Stephen Jackson

i think his departure will be celabrated. he was scary to watch with the ball in his hand and a bball IQ of 4

His defense was often negated by his propensity to foul at inopportune times. HIs rebounding was good if he’s an off guard. As a swing man asked to play PF, I suspect he got some mild inflation in his actual abilities. We’d be better off with a legitimate forward in that position.

His departure doesn’t do anything for the cap space vis a vis Brand. I think offers for Brand assumed that Pietrus would be waved. This just saves GS the paperwork.

Was that intentional irony? Did you intend to misspell ‘weird’ when discussing weird spellings?

I’ll admit…I will miss the good laughs I’ve had every time Pietrus had the ball and we all yell “Noooooooooo!!!!”

Hilarious/frustrating if he turned it over, even more hilarious if he drained it

Thank you Mikey P

he was a little

bit cocky and he thinks he plays like kobe, but he was cool and he will be missed a little bit

Foyle

is an unrestricted FA so the title of the post isnt all that accurate

Yep ..

He opted out

Fare thee well, MP… you were fun sometimes.

He’s reportedly getting most of their midlevel exception… not yet clear how many years they’d be signing him for. Seems like a lot for the guy, but he’s not a bad fit for that team.

That sucks but there's no way the W's were going to spend that on him

He was like my second or third favorite player. At least I won’t have to hear people complain about the few times he steps out of bounds and give him no credit for his defense, rebounding and general strange awesomeness. Dude was hilarious.

Booo!!!!!!!

I liked the way he danced in the pregame huddle

Hey, why don’t we get a sign and trade for him? I’ll never understand this s**t even thoiugh I’m the Commish. We didn’t renounce his contract yet, did we?

CWebb is undoubtedly the answer but I forgot the question.

I will miss him

who else blocked a ball the way he did? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USvx_ghM-nc&feature=related

when he did screw up, it never seemed to damage him for an entire night and he’d come back and pull something big off. I also remember Nellie giving him credit for one of the wins against Dallas in the post season upset series.

I’ll be in the minority that call his leaving a loss. He was the closest thing to defense the Warriors had and he was going into the peak of his career.

he always wanted to go to Florida

Love the personality- not the game. Also, he developed a rep for taking too long to come back from injuries from his OWN teamates. Hopefully Randolph and Wright will supply some beautiful boards and blocks to help make up for the loss. Nellie’s game requires high IQ bball minds so I was always suprised he got as much pt as he did.
Would like to see Warriors in the news for something other than LOSING players though – why the wait? Why haven’t they re-signed Monta and Beans yet?

Can’t help but laugh when I think of how high a bball IQ it takes to shoot 3’s from the perimeter.
