LaMarcus Aldridge to the Bay
Heres an idea that i have been thinking about for a bit. Lets try to bring in L mar. Hes strong, big, he can score and play some d. This is his last year in his contract so maybe the blazers would like to move him if we take on rafe La-Lames big contract. He only has a year left to. We could give them Al and a future pick and some one to fill the rest of the sal. He would be a huge addition. Him and b-right could be a dominate tandom. Anyone agree?

portland would never consider a swap or Al for aldridge. i dont see how u think this can acually work
by GSwarrior on Jul 9, 2008 7:46 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I know it would be hard to do but Portland has alot of youg kids and maybe would be willing to part with him. After the Gasol trade anything is possible. Pluse if we take raefs contract they will have room to pick another man up.

I'd rather go with trading the Nets
That team literally is a goldmine right now with alot of talent… They can definitely be a scary team in the EAST in my opinion but they do lack a legitimate PF and if I was going to try to send Harrington anywhere I’d send him there… they have a nice PG in Marcus Williams over there
Stop crying about it alright?!?! GO MULLIN.

Marcus Williams
sucks! he can’t play. he’s turnover prone and very inconsistent making him consistently bad. It isn’t like he didn’t play with talent. He had jason kidd, jefferson, and vince carter. WHat more do you need to be successful? But i guess you never know. look what happened to matt barnes two years back

Well what I see in him is his shot
He has a pure shot and if he’s atleast half descent he’d be able to work with the W’s… He can shoot the 3 I know statistically he’s not WOW but again I’m talking about Nets as a whole who have A LOT of pieces that we can use.
Stop crying about it alright?!?! GO MULLIN.

Actually here check this...
Marcus Williams 6.4 PPG 3 APG 39% FG 32% 3PT in 16 MPG and his turnover ratio is 1 in every 2 passes lol hahahahahahahahaahaha

lamarcus aldridge is the 3rd piece of the puzzle up in portland they would never EVER trade him
by Foulacy on Jul 9, 2008 8:02 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Why? Portlands not going to win it all this year anyway. If they get ride him and raef they will have sal to make a run at marion and get a true leader for a young team. If it all doesnt work out for them they can try and resign him next year.

why do u have the assumption
that portland is going to try at win it all this year? they have all the peices for a championship caliber team. you make no sense. in 2-3 years after they develop their guys there gunan be a force in the west.
by GSwarrior on Jul 9, 2008 8:12 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
they have some leadership
on that team already, roy and oden should be able to provide that. breaking the bank on marion just doesn’t make much sense. i just see zero reason for them to make this trade.

Aldridge (who is grossly overrated by most fans) is young and big and the Blazers can keep him this year and next at a reasonable, rookie scale price. They aren’t dumping him to free up salary unless they get a good player in return. Harrington is not that player.
I’m not really a big fan of Aldridge. His points come on too many shots. He doesn’t draw fouls and he’s a middle of the road rebounder (or worse) for his size. Scoring points gets players money. Scoring points simply by taking shots doesn’t help win games. Big men who aren’t overly good rebounders better do something else superbly or they’re a liability, and a liability that tends to go unnoticed and gets overpaid.

The thing is…that Raef LaFrentz contract that only has a year left, it’s a pretty damn good trading chip. If you remember Atlanta got Mike Bibby last year for all expiring contracts.
And besides that, LaMarcus is a big part of Portland’s plans, I don’t see them giving him away for Harrington and a first because if we get LaMarcus we probably won’t be giving them that valuable of a pick in that trade.

Haven’t we given the guys over at Blazers Edge enough reason to come over here and make fun of us.

that greg oden post was a disaster for that. although, at least half of the blazers edge folks posted to apologize for their more obnoxious guys.

What about Josh Smith?
I think he fits into your system better. He runs well, rebounds, and defends the paint. Do you have enough money left to go after him? Mullin just threw $4 million at Turiaf? I don’t understand why he did that. There’s a Turiaf in every draft.

come on man. Whatever team gives J Smooth the max or close to it is going to regret it. He coasts now when he makes nothing. How hard is he going to play when you remove the incentive by giving him 70 million guaranteed?
by Nellieball on Jul 9, 2008 8:46 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
It would be cool to have him. But he will be way to over priced. Atlanta wants to keep him and say they will match any offer. They and the clips will wind up having a bidding war and over pay him.

Dude we won’t get aldridge, but lost is right, there is no harm in looking at it as a possibility. The fact is we have some bigs now, but they are all skinny other than turiaf and hendrix. We need a big man that can bang with the boozers etc., but aldridge isn’t all that great and we’d have to give up way too much to get him.
There is no need to try to make him feel like an idiot when he is throwing out ideas.
by scwarrior24 on Jul 9, 2008 9:00 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
No way
Why would Portland make this trade? Why would Portland care about his contract situation? He has a team option for 2010 that no doubt Blazers will pick up. Then a qualifying offer the next year. And even after that, Paul Allen is a billionaire who loves to spend money on his team and can go over the cap to keep his guys. LA is a perfect high post complement to Oden. Maybe if Aldridge chokes McMillen or something, we have a chance then.

Blazers Edger here
you guys come up with the funniest ideas for trades. NO dis respect intended, but come on! Oden and Aldridge paired together, why would we give that up… ... .. .Anyway, as always, nice idea!

nothing to hold against anyone!
I just couldn’t help but comment because I just think it’s funny, but it’s all in good fun> I posted a diary about this post trade idea on Blazers Edge, but then decided to delete it because there’s been enough of us over reacting to silly trade ideas as of late, and we’re certainly guilty of it ourselves. We’re all bored waiting for the season to start, what else can we do but come up with wacky trade ideas.

yea that team looks amazing on paper
Not that this hasnt been said a billion times before but-Bayless and Roy seem like they will fit perfectly together. Adding Oden allows Aldrige to concentrate more on offense. Plenty of depth in the backcourt with Blake and the foreign guy coming over this year. Pryzbilla and Frye are underrated bigs who should be great in bench roles. If Martell Webster and/or Travis Outlaw can continue to improve that team will be downright scary.

Awesome.
I alway enjoy a chuckle before I go to bed. Thanks for the laugh.
Al Harrington is a nice player, but he’s simply not as good as Aldridge is, and he’s not even close to how good Aldridge will be in a few years. Aldridge has a feathery outside jumper, and he is the absolute perfect complement to playing with a low-post beast like Oden. This combination of size, skill, speed, power, athleticism, etc. will be absolutely sickening to watch. No way Portland trades away a chance at this for Al Harrington.
As for RLEC (Raef Lafrentz’s expiring contract), if we can pair some good young talent like Outlaw or Fernandez with RLEC, we’ll be looking to get a serious player in return. In other words, we won’t be trading it for Al Harrington.
To put this in Warrior-fan terms, this would be like us proposing to trade Steve Blake and Martell Webster for Monta Ellis. I bet you’d enjoy a good chuckle at that one too.
All the best to you Warrior fans. Sorry to see Boom Dizzle go. I enjoyed watching your team the last couple of years. Peace.

maybe we can get Oden
he’s gonna cost a lot in a few years, and i bet they dont want to be on the hook for that money. i’m thinking maybe something like chris webber (sign and trade), a six pack of the high life and a bag of weed. i mean, we should at least try, right?

I’m still mad that Diogu was added on as a throwaway in that deal. He has been criminally underutilized over his career. He doesn’t have enough D to be a starter but he gets buckets.
I like Oden a lot but I’m kind of hoping he doesn’t work out because of injuries because that is the only way I see your team being derailed.
