NEWS: Don't unpack your suitcase Damon Jones
It appears that the recently traded Damon Jones may find himself being traded...again!
Damon Jones was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. He knows he probably won't need to unpack his suitcase. The Bucks' backcourt is bloated with point guards Luke Ridnour, Ramon Sessions, Tyronn Lue and Charlie Bell.
"They might move me somewhere else," Jones said in a telephone interview. "I will resurrect my career again similar to what I did in Miami and Milwaukee. I'm in better shape now than I was in the last two years. I want to find someone who really believes in me." -- The News-Herald

For those that don't remember, DJ used to be a Golden State Warrior back in 1999-2000. He didn't play much at all, so he wasn't really able to showcase his shooting ability. He has since established himself as a consistent shooter w/ a career 40% beyond the arc. I think he's on the last year of a 4-year/$16.1 million dollar contract he signed w/ the Cavs back in 2005.
Should the Warriors take a crack at trading for DJ? Who would you trade for him? Would it even be a good idea? He would definitely bring some consistent 3 pt. shooting to a team that loves to launch them more than any other team in the NBA, not to mention a veteran presence at the point w/ a number of years of playoff experience!
Just putting it out there since there hasn't been a lot going on w/ the Dubs lately. Thoughts?

no way
there’s really no point to having him on the team. he’s not an upgrade over anyone on the roster and there was a reason he doesn’t get much PT. he’s a one trick pony and we’ve got a couple of them already on the bench. no thanks.

no
We should give Belinelli one more year to try and be our 3-pt bench guy. every good team usually has one and we might as well give the job to someone we don’t pay much money to with potential. lets let monta get use to pg and let maggette get used to the team before we do many more trades

not unless
he was only a piece in the trade to make it work contractually. And I dont see much on the Milwaukee roster that makes a lot of sense for us.

NO!!!
We are already cluttered with guards. Why take on another guard when we have CJ and Morrow? I would much rather get a veteran big man to fill in our roster

What’s the point of this thread? We have a lot of young guards to see about. Seriously, at least make sense with your proposals. It’s not even relevant to us at all.

IT'S NOT A PROPOSAL
I’m just gathering thoughts, stirring discussions, since it’s been quite boring in Warriorsland as of late! If you really felt that there was no point to this thread you wouldn’t have left a comment!

Perfect sense.
That’s logical. You aren’t allowed to have an opinion unless it’s a good one.

man
he might have been a nice pick up if we didnt have marcus williams. williams is definately a better player but damon is a great shooter. maybe we should cut cj and bring him in as a 3rd point.

Ramon Sessions...
Another 2nd Round Sleeper.
remember when he dropped 20 points, 24 assists and grabbed 8 boards vs. the Bulls?
I know it was the second to last game, but it was still impressive to me and he did play consistently well the last 9 games or so.
Imagine him along side Monta.

Ramon Sessions is a very good player who could step in and help this team quite a bit. I don’t think he’s available, but if Milwaukee came calling for someone, I’d push for Ramon to be involved in the trade. His limited PT last year project him to be a rather good PG within the next couple of years.

Damon Jones?!?!?
Unless he’s an expiring contract I don’t see why we’d get him. Even if he were an expiring contract he couldn’t be all THAT valuable because he’d only be making 4-5mil or so. I suppose you could argue that he’d give that veteran presence because he’s been around the league so long, but I don’t see him useful as someone we want to give playing time to. Would you really want him on the court instead of Marcus Williams? I think he’s the definition of a 1-dimension player. Its not as if his one skill (39% Career 3PT Shooter) is enough to make up for all the things he doesn’t do.
