Time Machine

Of all of the moves in the past decade by the W's which of them was so bad that you would sacrifice the past 2 years of glory for it. UPDATE: sorry i did not include amare over dunleavy

Star-divide

I personally would have chosen Kevin Garnett over Joe Smith in the 1995  draft more so than picking kobe bryant. bryant wasnt a great player unless jerry west developed him and he was put next to a nice core uncluding shaq. garnett was picked by a team a couple of years removed from being an expansion and he developed on his own with a horrible team....

I give you a REC

But if ANYBODY uses this diary as an excuse to discuss the JRich trade, pro or con, I will unrec it just as quickly.

On the other hand, the discussions about the various spellings of Brandan Wright’s name are always scintillating…

Don't mess with ^^^^ !!

the JRich trade

  Brandan’s alright, he’s just near.
  he’s delicate like a mirror
and he just makes it too concise and too clear
   that Jason’s not here.

go way back

How about not tradin parish and the pick that became McHale for Joe Barely Cares?

in fact lets keep that whole championship team together for a few years instead of breaking them up immediately going Charlie o finley on them…thanks franklin Meuli

barry, wilkes, smith, williams, parish, cj , …. and on and on

It still hurts thinking about it
First the Swinging A’s get torn apart, then the Raiders are nearly owned by Pittsburgh through the 70’s except that one year they escaped to beat the Vikes and then the Warriors win it all and then get torn apart…. ugh

IT hurt almost as much as the nfl salary cap blowing up what could have been a second niner dynasty after the chargers whooping or …

oh yeah going back

I dont trade WEbber and i say bye bye Nellie

I dont trade Richmond for owens

I dont give away T Hill

And I NEVER EVER ALLOW COHAN TO BUY THE WARRIORS!!!!!!!!!

be the change you wish to see in the world.

draft Kobe

I don’t give Jerry West the credit for Kobe becoming Kobe.

I pray i never have to use a gun again...

...unless i'm at a strip club parking lot...

...and somebody tries to run me over with their car...

...But how often does that happen??

don't hate me for this...

…but what about picking Karl Malone over Chris Mullin?
don’t get me wrong, i love Mully to death and so does my whole family…but Karl Malone…super beast

How come the premise is to take back a move in the past decade...

and we have 1995 in it? If anything I would have taken Amare over Dunleavy.

by joestar on Aug 21, 2008 10:55 PM PDT   0 recs

Finally

Someone brings it up. I too would have taken Amare 3rd. Leave Jamison at the 3, have Richardson at the 2 and Arenas at the point… with all those scoring options we would have had plenty of room to start Foyle as the designated fouling center… get as many blocks and rebounds before 6 fouls baby!

by Mr. Monday Night on Aug 22, 2008 1:24 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

What about...

T-Mac over Foyle in ’97??

What about trading all of our draft picks for Jordan in '84?

I hate Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, and Russel Peters because they make fun of white people like me. They also make fun of other kinds of people, which hurts me deep down because my ancestry is so mixed that I don't know what my official "race" is... so I get offended for all races!

by Dubs fan in Boston on Aug 22, 2008 10:30 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I meant all of our draft picks.

1985 #1 and #2
1986 #1 and #2
etc.

I would have..

Mos Def put that in the poll, at least. I loved Foyle as a person, but he had bust written all over him. T-Mac was a bit of a wild card, but taking the chance was an obvious upgrade over Stone Hands.

We may have passed up another all star caliber player this year too in Donte Greene.

WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...

High School kid Kobe did want to play anywhere but LA

Kobe was as demanding as a HS kid as he is now. I remember reading about this HS kid insisted to play for the Lakers and no one else period. http://hoopedia.nba.com/index.php/Kobe_Bryant

Bay

Area teams are known for making stupid decisions, hence the 49ers, A’s in particular, Dubs, Giants in keeping bonds another year, raiders i guess, only smart 1s we got are the least cared about in the nation, Sharks and Sabercats

Thanks for not contributing to the thread.

Did you get your blogging style from Atma?

by joestar on Aug 23, 2008 1:16 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah...

Joe Montana and Jerry Rice were totally stupid draft picks. Keeping Steve Young around to back up Montana while we could have gotten good value out of him for a trade was pretty dumb too IMHO. And recently, Patrick Willis was a horrible, horrible draft pick. Such stupid decisions.
Chris Webber and Andris Biendrins were pretty bad too. Oh, and the Warriors have a horrendous record of drafting terrible talent in the second round… players like Gilbert Arenas and Monta Ellis. Who dey?

On a serious note, everybody who has ever made a draft pick, signed a free agent, or traded a player has come out with a bad result once or twice.

NEWS FLASH

if we had taken KG we would have been the TIMBERSUCKS for the last 10 years until we traded him away!!!!! WE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN KOBE!

realistically, we should have kept jrich last year.

by Foulacy on Aug 23, 2008 2:24 PM PDT   0 recs

you must know

that it wasn’t kevin garnett’s fault that the wolves have been awful recently, it was kevin mchale’s. and did you forget about the year he led them to the #1 seed in the west, when the rest of his starting lineup was sam cassell, latrell sprewell, trenton hassel and ervin johnson? he was always given a terrible supporting cast in minnesota, and always played his heart out and gave that team more than any other player would have. but maybe you’re right and he’ll go down as the kind of guy who can never play for a winner.

by cap'n hack on Aug 24, 2008 2:59 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

So can we also transport people through the time machine?

What about abducting Magic or Jordan to play for us next season?

by dajrichshow on Aug 24, 2008 9:15 PM PDT   0 recs

I don't know about moves, but contracts...here's some

Donyell Marshal
Jason Caffey
Adonal Foyal
JRich
Corey Mag’s

Those be some bad contracts that handcuffed the Dubs big time from being able to shop around for good FA’s.

Now trades? #1 without a doubt was Mitch Richmond to Sacramento. Billy O did virtually nothing and broke up RUN-TMC which could have made a good run for a championship.

CWebb for Goog’s was pretty lame too.

Drafts. There are way too many f’ed up draft picks to mention, but come on yall. KG was a HUGE gamble when the Dubs had the #1 draft pick. Joe Smith was far and away the best college player available. He took a Maryland team to the Final Four that year too. Joe Smith was at the time of the draft, the best player available, so anyone who says that we should have drafted KG is either high on meth or was in like 9 years old watching Duck Tails or Johnny Quest.

Picking Mike Dunleavy over AMARE STOUDEMIRE

Marcus Williams, just watch. This SIG won't be deleted till Warriors make the playoffs.

by AKA JustPlainOldDubsFan on Aug 25, 2008 7:03 PM PDT   0 recs

Gotta be Kobe

Good thing the dubs jumped on the high school thing in time to draft Monta…but it was still about 7 years too late.

by djfivenine on Aug 25, 2008 10:06 PM PDT   0 recs

at least Joe Smith did a little something in the NBA, but we drafted Todd Fuller over Kobe…TODD FULLER
