atma’s fanhood is really not one of those things that i think about when i come here. and the comedy involved with saying that you have too much respect to post his pics, but then essentially calling the guy a race traitor cannot be overstated. if you’re done with this site, as you say you are, good. we don’t need crap like this.

As for me, I never even thought much of the Warriors until I moved down here from Seattle (because I was huge Sonics fan). However, being I basketball junkie I ended getting season tickets and follow the Dubs much closer. Now that my team is in OKC would you “out me” for not being a Dubs fan from birth?

Atma, D.J, Fantasy and all the guys that have been running GSoM for the past few years have always been cool to everyone I’ve seen. Just like the rest of us, they have opinions on all the matters we talk about, whether they agree with us or not, THEY have final say on what goes up on, and what comes down.

I’m a Warrior fan first… but I’ve branched my favoritism out to the home of former Warrior greats. This meant that I was a temporary fan of the Kings during the Richmond era, the Heat during the Tim Hardaway Era, Pacers during the Mullin years, and now the Bobcats while Richardson is there. So does that make me any less of a Warrior fan? I can bet you that I’d know more about Warrior history that at least half of the people on this site… more than likely 75%.

Wow. Just reading it again makes me think how low can someone go… so you have a pic of Atma in a NY jersey… why would I want a picture of that? I gotta picture of me in 12th grade wearing a Kings Mitch Richmond Jersey… if I gave that to you what the hell are you gonna do with that?

I thinks it’s been about a year since I officially joined GSoM and started drawing for you folks and during our frequent meetings and e-mails with the group I asked so many questions on why they started GSoM and what drives them to cater to such a huge crowd devoted to Golden State Basketball and from what I’ve learned, it’s way more than dude’s ramblings about getting season tix, etc… shoot the folks at GSoM even share the wealth and give some of those tix away!

There’s nothing here in this post to bring somebody up. Baronsclipps is nothing but an e-thug trying to get some e-credibility like a wanna a poser thug. He’s a snitch that goes directly to SB Nation and gets no respect in my book. If I ever saw him at a game I’d just walk on by and disreguard him as a Warriors fan since he disrespected one of my peoples.

I don’t think I have much time left (my choice for what should be obvious personal and professional reasons by now), but I do think the record should be set straight since it has been completely distorted in the above FanPost. GSDubbz/ DubsBall/ BaronsClipps doesn’t deserve a response, but I do sincerely believe that the rest of the community deserves some transparency to prevent inaccuracies from floating around.

Hmmmmmmm… I guess when Baron came on the team and he realized he could make money, (which he did, with his SB nation check he bought season tix), he became a full Warrior fan and erased that website when we found it.

That timeline and logic is all wrong. SB Nation to this day hasn’t paid any of us a dime. In fact it’s the complete opposite- they make money off us. They heavily recruited us years ago when we were on blogspot and asked us to start a Warriors blog for them. Our hard work and efforts in making this site one of their most popular and heavily trafficked communities (even pre-We Believe) have given this network more credibility, exposure, and revenue to help build the platform you are using right now. We aren’t SBNation employees in any real tangible sense. We were supposed to/ promised to share in the ownership of this network, but hey- we’ve been told a lot of things that never actually happened.

My crew and I have used the dough from ads on GSoM which we negotiated on our own (the top 2 generate money for them not us though) to buy season tickets to share with the community at large (which was one of our fundamental goals from day 1 back when were on blogspot). The premise that I personally “became” a “full Warrior fan” to make money is just laughable. It has always been the hobby that funds itself. It doesn’t pay the bills in any sense.

Also my personal/ professional site was never erased, nor were there ever any pics of me in a Knicks jersey. Not that anyone cares or should care. There’s some very odd causal models in the logic above.

I actually did not ban GSDubbz. If I remember correctly OZ (our former moderator) banned GSDubbz for all these nasty personal attacks (including a picture GSDubbz made calling him a pervert or something of that nature) and invading the personal privacy of Coma. Personally I would’ve issued him a warning or let things cool off, but I’m not hating on OZ for that decision one bit. There were things that FJ, Fuzzy, and I didn’t appreciate about OZ’s style as a moderator, but this wasn’t one of them.

I was on the site last year, and he blocked me after I tried to protest some racist people on this site posting fanatical comments and attacking people who had differing views. On GSOM the word racist is illegal, but discriminating is not. Atma was afraid of them and took their side.

How do you respond to something that doesn’t have basis in reality any nor any evidence? Well you don’t.

I emailed the owner of SB nation and within a few days they made major changes such as removing the diary/fanpost moderator named “Oz”.

Actually none of that is true. The timing is all off too. We didn’t relieve Oz of his moderation duties because of GSDubbz/ DubsBall/ BaronsClipps’ predictably histrionic and false claims and inferences. That was done months later for other reasons- mostly because he just wasn’t a good fit for our brand/ style- and that isn’t to say anything bad about Oz. We all appreciate his help for those few months. (Oz’s banning is an entirely separate and unrelated issue.) In actuality Blez (from AN) forwarded us the email from GSDubbz/ DubsBall/ BaronsClipps and we all laughed it off. It was just that ridiculous and absurd- although I don’t think I have to prove that to you when you look at the manufacturing above.

Another take away is that we run this site pretty much independently on SBNation. We’ve had our own style here since day 1 and we stick to it. Other SBNation sites have different flavas- swearing is allowed, racist comments are fine, and personal attacks are the norm. That isn’t in the DNA of this community. We don’t “answer” or “report” to anyone.

I have a crazy imagination, but trust me- nothing tops the ridiculous trade proposals that show up in the community and other online spots! Again no basis in reality and no evidence. By the way how could someone know if I made up a rumor?

Actually from day 1 I explicitly stated that Jack deserved another chance. If someone said I demonized Dunleavy in the past, although I wouldn’t agree, I’d listen to what they had to say. This? Well I’m not even listening. This silly baseless allegation is just the complete opposite from the truth and GSDubbz/ DubsBall/ BaronsClipps was never banned for this.

And I don’t care I’m done with this site it sucks and it’s not representative of the East Bay at all.

4 of the 6 authors of this site including me grew up in the East Bay. To infer that we don’t have love for the East Bay is to foolishly infer… well everything wrongly inferred the above FanPost.

Another funny thing- this guy has said he’s done with this site many times in the past, but he keeps coming back to spew more pointless venom and nonsense.

He looked up my email and posted on another thread to tell other people who I was… so I’m returning the favor baby!

Clicking his name in the admin view displays “Other users logging in from this IP- GSDubbz” which I noticed when I sent him a message to move his hollow FanPost to a FanShot where it would be more appropriate.

You robbed GSoM of its soul. Fanshots do not replace Webpins. Big, honking, funny, user-generated webpins made this place better than Fast Break or other blogs. There was identity and accountability. Self-policing worked fine. Dumb diary? Ignore it. It will work. We didn’t need OZ but its sad that he’s not around posting anymore. We generate a lot of buzz, but its equal parts admins, community. (How awesome was Zorgon on ABC before Game 1 in Dallas?) Tony.PSD and his amazing creations made this place look amazing as did other amazing graphic designers lending their skills to web pins. I wish that Koz and Blez can find a way to keep Atma and crew engaged and paid to keep this place ‘golden.’ I don’t just want to reminisce about the “We Believe” era. Let’s hope the amazing progress made by our players ramp up GSoM as a positive, happy place to love being a Warriors fan and shocking the world at the same time.
