Marco as Point Guard

I want to try it out. Monta is out and we need people to step up, how about him. he will be called a bust if he doesnt do anything this season. Marco may not be a great distributor but he has nice playmaking ability and great shooting ability.

Star-divide

I believe we should give Marcus his chance but only at 30-35 minutes a game and belinelli as back up point guard at 20 minutes a night. i would not be suprised to see his stats around the 10 points, 3 assists mark if he does this. i want to see all of our youngsters but i want marco to have a chance.

He's only been in the league for one year.

Just because he barely got playing time doesn’t mean he sucks. He’s only like 22 years old too. Brandan Wright barely got playing time too and I don’t think it was because he “sucks”. People write players off too quickly.

Anthony Randolph sucks!

…and he hasn’t started a game!

…jk!

Marco at point

I think there was a point last season where Nellie said he was planning on playing Marco at point. He said he thinks it could work well since Marco has good height for the ‘1’.

In fact when Marco was drafted Nelson did mention that he might see time at the PG, but he’d not even seen him play in person. Marco was Mullin’s pick all the way. Then they picked CJ up after Nelson had seen MB up close.

Last season, in Nelson’s eyes CJ was better than Marco despite Marco’s size and international experience advantages, and the stats support it.

This summer they brought in Williams to supplant CJ as backup PG, so that would suggest Marco is behind both of them there, as well as behind Jackson, Maggs, and KAz at the wing. And if Wright improves, the best chance to get Randolph any minutes may be at the SF.

While the injury to Ellis certainly opens up the opportunity for him to compete against some pedestrian point guards, Marco’s getting squeezed out unless he proves he can outperform them. My question montadaboss, is why or how did you relaunch your post keeping the poll results and ditching the comments?

never mind the last question, I got confused

nah

you can tell brandan wright can be a really good player in this league. marco actually got more of a chance than brandan. Wright was a total mystery to me, he would put up 12 points and 7 rebounds in the first quarter he played, and only end up playing a total of 26 minutes or something like that. you can watch bellinelli play and see he won’t be that good of a player. slow footspeed, horrendous defense, too streaky of a shooter. wright made stuff happen when he came into the game.

guilty! I thought Andris was a bust

i’d be happy to be just as wrong about Marco too

by hardcore on Sep 1, 2008 3:55 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I thought Biedrins was a bust too.

He would always get into foul trouble and in my eyes (at the time) he didn’t show signs of great scoring or defense.

I was like, man this guy sucks. But when I went on online forums I kept seeing people praising his potential. I was like “what these people are crazy!”, but then I took a second look at Andris and realized how good he really is.

i hate negative energy

Me too, when Bellynelllie comes into a game my energy level just plummets. When he sits back down on the bench I feel much better. If he shows up in street clothes I’m very high.

marco is a pure shooter

I dunno but I like the fact that we have a pure shooter on our team. If this guy gets enough PT i wouldn’t be surprised to see him as a kyle korver type of player. If he plays the point i can see him swinging the ball to magette, magette drives and kicks back to belli and knocks down the 3.

marco isn't even a summer league allstar

he had a few huge games but also bad ones. Plenty of players in the NBA have had a big night when they would score 30+ points. It’s only worth mentioning if they do it consistently, and he didn’t even do that in summer league.

i don't trust his decision making

nearly enough to trust him to play the 1.

Actually

she’s a soon to be GILF, her daughter is pregnant. Her 17 year old daughter which means she is a “bad parent” in the eyes of some and lessen the amount of votes McCain is given.

by boomdizzleness on Sep 1, 2008 9:40 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

She may already be a GILF

The child with Down’s syndrome might actually be her grandaughter (i.e., the 17-y.o.‘s first kid). Or so the internet speculation goes, anyway. I’m about 25% convinced…

Don't mess with ^^^^ !!

She may already be a GILF

Guess McCain has a thing for ex minor beauty queens? maybe that comes from living in a box for years? his wife was also Miss something or other. wonder how she really feels about this new edition?
I don’t care about the daughter’s affairs but I don’t like the fact that GILFy likes to kill animals and force other women to be slaves to her religious beliefs.

and thats what he expects in a VP….damn hes so old

im pretty sure he's not our answer for our pg problem

but YES his stroke is like none other on our team.

I’d feel more safe with bellinelli on the floor than matt barnes, heck even pietrus. We know what we’ll get with Belli, that’s instant offense. It kinda suck he did so good during summer league because it just put incredibly high expectations on him. It’s not like he sucks either, he only played 33 games last season, averaging around 7 minutes. They never even ran ANY plays for him. I think he was a steal at the 18th pick a year ago. Maybe because I’m part italian I believe in Marco, but I cant wait to see a thread in the future with everyone on his ballsack.

Let him run point for 5-10 posessions.....

During garbage time…see how it works out…then make a decision. If he’s really been working on it like he says he is then he should make at least a small positive impact.

by Butt Secks on Sep 1, 2008 9:38 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Belli at point?

He would get manhandled by the other PG and jack way too many contested 3’s ala Baron. I was high on him before, and hope he still can fill a need for us, but at Shooting guard

by Pearlsofwisdom on Sep 1, 2008 11:26 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Marco ain't no PG

The guy averaged around 0.6 assists in the Italian League.
Heck, even Adonal Foyle had a higher assist rate.
