Season Ticket Locker!!!!!!!!!!
I swear......what is going on with the marketing guys at GSW???????
We spend the most money on season tickets that has been asked of fans in recent years and our season tickets arrive in a "Toy" 12' Warriors Locker!!! with a padlock!! just in case the thieves that break into your house think of stealing those prized tickets.................
Last year we had a backpack which you could fit a BBall in and I have to say I have used it quite a bit when going to my local courts to shoot some hoops....not expensive to make but functional for the fans.
But this............
DEAR GOD GUYS C'MON........ this is a piece of crap!
How about a really good quality Polo Shirt or team shirt specific to season ticket holders, or a signed Photo from the whole team with "Thanks" for being a season ticket holder....... This is not freakin rocket science, but noooooooooooo lets treat all fans like they are 10 years old! GREAT.....WELL PLAYED......IDIOTS!
At least being retangular it will hurt more when shoved back up the orrifice it came from, from said marketing numpty that came up with this idea when I meet them!
It's not a hard job marketing, I have done it now for 12 years.....and when fans are being asked to pay more money they should get MORE.....which includes more QUALITY, not only on the court but also in the amenities, quality of products in the shop AND.... the gifts offered by the team.
If I have to stand inline for an entire quarter at any point this year to get a freakin Burger or a hot dog, then Front Office needs to standby....because in the words of Maximus Decimus Meridius...I will ..."UNLEASH HELL!!"
Yours...a little cheesed off

Let's see...
How about a really good quality Polo Shirt or team shirt specific to season ticket holders, or a signed Photo from the whole team with “Thanks” for being a season ticket holder
Just so you know… I got seats the year BD arrived. I forget what we got, but the 05-06 season we got a signed J-Rich 8 × 10 photo. The next year 06-07 we got a polo shirt with the team logo and a coffee mug with “The City” logo on it. As he states last season we got a cheap backpack that was useful until it broke down and we all got a Stephen Jackson autographed photo with him in a blue Warriors throw back being guarded by Allen Iverson in a Nuggets throwback. I haven’t gotten my tickets in mail yet and I’m sure the locker going to suck ass, but to bitch about GSW season ticket relations seem bit petty.
A Sonics fan without a team.. Though I'm auditioning GS Warriors this season.
by mcwalter44 on Sep 22, 2008 3:18 PM PDT 0 recs
Not Petty...just good business.
It’s the first impression the season ticket holder gets and I am not saying the previous years has been any better, but THIS year, this “Locker” is a bad marketing choice unless you happen to be a kid, in which cae it might be quite cool to keep your pencils and crayons in.
You miss the intention of the post. It is pointing out that GSW season ticket relations SHOULD be putting some thought and effort into this a little more, in ADDITION to the other areas that need rapid improvement like the lines at consession stands.

LOLLERSKATES!
Imagine how much metal that they wasted on that. What’s supposed to go in there once the tickets are done? What possible use could is serve other than being a model? It’s like sending the fans a toy car.
But yeah, when I was a Hornets season ticket holder for 2 seasons all I got was a donut handed to me personally by Cedric Simmons.
Haven’t gotten anything from the Thunder yet, but we’ll see.

SAME HERE
I haven’t gotten my lowers yet either! Although I hear what you’re saying Brit about the WARRIORS organization putting more thought into what our tix come in or w/, I think getting anything at all is cool. I loved the portfolio we got a couple of years ago. I use it at work. Anyone remember the cigar case? Although useless to me since I don’t smoke, it was a pretty nice piece of wood. The only thing some of these non-functional items do is take up space in my house, but if I ever get a bigger place, I’ll have a room dedicated to all the useless WARRIORS memorabilia that came w/ my season tickets!
I hope my locker comes w/ a key, now that would suck!

What would you want as this years season ticket holder gift?
I didn’t like the backpack last season… it was okay… the planner err… binder I got the year before was sweet, I use it at all of my freelance meetings… I believe the year before that was a popcorn tub?
Hmm… what would be an ideal treat for us supporting W fans?

Er where do you think the money comes from to buy this stuff?
So yes as season ticket holders we have paid for what is then sent to us, pretty simple to understand really? I.e. I have bought ST’s and therefore some of my own money gets me this trinket back!

I refuse to buy season tickets...
the value just isnt there right now, so maybe my opinion doesnt count. But if I was going to buy season tickets I would much rather have Chris Mullin just come over one game and say thanks for being a season ticket holder, let me buy you a drink. It would be way cheaper for the organization and I would definitely appreciate the personal sentiment more than some piece of crap toy headed for a landfill.
How long do you think it would take to personally thank all the season ticket holders? Would that even fit into a single season?
by warriorsvictim on Sep 23, 2008 3:10 PM PDT 0 recs
+111111111111111
My point exactly, this is the type of thing that you would appreciate so much more. or a couple of passes to training sessions.
In reply to Tony, I think a “Warriors” Welcome mat is a great idea! Hell even a Warriors key ring, Wallet, something I can use out and about that also helps get the Warriors logo and brand out there. A nice leather wallet with the “W” logo embossed on it would be good.
Maybe a Baseball hat unique to Season ticket holders? Hell even those cheap Binoculars that they have in theatres for those of us up in the gods!!!
Drinks glasses and mugs are always useful, stickers for the car, Warriors Salt and Pepper pots, A special season ticket Beer Mug which if you bring to the game you can get filled for $4, that sort of thing. It really is not that difficult when you start thinking about things that might be of use, rather than an item that will sitting a corner gathering dust!
Which was my point to the whole post…… a little more thought and much better response from the fan, all “helps” toward keeping that fan buying tickets the following year.
How many times are free T-shirts thrown out into the crowd during games? Where do most of them land??? the lower level, who lets face it, probably have less need and most likely less thankful than the people in the upper tier, who for some, a free T-shirt would be great. It’s these sorts of things where the marketing team are really missing the point, which in turn means the head of marketing is not doing their job properly.
Another classic example, Last years “Season Ticket Holder” long sleeve white T-Shirts given away at the start of the season (1 per ticket holder) not per number of tickets? Which in itself is poor, but then it was some cheap screen printed crap which probably was not something you would wear out during the the bold Navy print, etc, other than at a game. However the same long sleeve white T-shirt with a nice “W” stitched logo on the front with screen printed in White “Season Ticket Holder” across the shoulders on the back, would have be a good subtle shirt that you would wear elsewhere.
Like I said, this is not rocket science, Marketing is one of the easiest jobs out there, you find out what people like get some sample polls running when people sign up for their season tickets and then sort out the gift thereafter i.e:
If you had the choice of the following as a gift from GSW which would you prefer?
1: Unique Baseball Hat
2: Unique embroided Polo/T-Shirt
3: Welcome Mat
4: Wallet
5: Fridge Magnet
6: A date with Alexis
That sort of thing!!!!!!!!
Ok so we know which one we would pick from above!
:)

FREE T-SHIRT...
I’ve never won a free shirt thrown at the folks… what exactly are on those shirts? Are they the T’s sold at the stores as well?
If I had the choice of a free gift I’d chose 7: Warriors Bath Towel!
…and 6 too!

Er...numbers
Lets say 15,000 ticket holders for arguments sake, at say 48 games is roughly 312 people per game that Mullin would have to “meet and greet” and buy a beer for!!!
Now….48 minutes divided by 312 people, so thats just under 7 people a minute, so he could probably spend around 8 seconds with you!
“Hi…thanks for being a season ticket holder..we really appreciate it…enjoy the game and here have a beer!”
Perfect….no problem, I think it’s doable!!!
Chris…start the meet and greet!

But considering the recent price hikes (and personell issues)- I would think that a nicer gift would be in order.
