ok, so this is my first post. and when i saw this on yahoo, i actually really got mad. wtf is wrong with bennet? what makes him feel that he can just steal stuff from other teams. ok at first glance i thought wow, that looks exactley like the knicks, but after reading a view of the comments and taking another look. you can see clearly that the home jerseys (durant pic) from the chest up look exactley like our home jerseys! WTF!? and they look ugly as hell, but hey im over it. guess it doesnt matter if a  team has no originality and no style (cant stress that enough) lol

Taken from Blue Blitz:

First of all, who wants that stupid mini text on the players butt crack? That’s been a huge trend in recent uniforms, and it’s really stupid. I mean, are we going to look there FOR the team name? I just don’t get it. Isn’t the sides enough? Anyway, it’s safe to say that I WILL NOT buy these shorts.

Second of all, the logos are extremely reminiscent of the 90s Pistons uniforms. Royce says otherwise, calling them “New York Knickish”. While they do look so if you look at it on that drawing he has on his site, if you look at the actual thing, they look moreso Pistons to me. But of course, the Pistons uniforms were much more outlandish, cartoony, and just plain cool. These look sort of bland an generic, just like….the logo! Whaddaya know!

Third of all, the fronts of both uniforms are just a little bit too bland and noisy. The white uniforms have orange tracing around them for some god-knows-why reason. Combining it with the white and yellow doesn’t turn out too well in my opinion. The road uniforms also suffer from problems, as it just looks like they slapped Oklahoma, City, and the numbers on there with absolutely no regard for style.

In conclusion, after a second look, these uniforms are pretty poor. They have some positive points on the colouring, but the uniforms are eternally marred by their use of butt crack logo and their overall genericness.

okluschen note: To me, it seems as if Thunder is just a formality for this team and if they didn’t have to have a team name, we wouldn’t have one. Everything the team does seems to be distant from Thunder. If you’re going to choose a name like the Thunder, show me some clouds or bolts or something! In the logo and the uniforms, they seem to be going conservative in their selections, as not to piss off anyone. However, in doing this, they’ve managed to offend everyone! Give us something to be proud of, please. It doesn’t need to be good even, Oklahomans will take to whatever. But give us something that isn’t plain jane generic.

Anyone remember

The atrocity that was late 90’s uniforms. The dino-style Raptors?
Teal and fuchsia horse-head Pistons unis? Single worst uniform change ever?

The Hawks jersey with a giant red hawk emblazoned across the center?

These Thunder jerseys are cut straight from that mold but remind me far more of the Shawn Kemp Era Cavaliers jerseys that ranked very high on my all time worst uni’s list…

Oh, that Lamond Murray look is sooo hot right now…..

What about some love for Tyrone Hill?
….. right there below the 97’ Warriors “LIGHTNING BOLT MADNESS” .

I’m a BIG fan of the retro look, but not recent enough to where these designs bring back familiar memories of the days of the lockout…..

Dude I love these uniforms!

At the very least they were original and innovative! Before that Era, uniforms were mostly very basic (with a few exceptions), and this era bought uniform design to new heights.

To me, it makes the uniforms look more like a mural. It really gave meaning to the teams name, rather than downplaying it.

Yea those were from the uniwatchblog.com contest.

They were having a contest to make a jersey and pick the name, it was then featured in an article Paul from unwatch writes for ESPN page 2. Someone took it from there and spread it around.

haet to say it,

but I hope OKC loses every single game this year. Competition is good for the league, but I just want that team to fail like no other team before so that crappy owner gets put in his place.

If they lose every game, no one will buy season tickets next year or buy team merchandise that is too ugly to be of any value on its own merits. Hopefully when it hits him in the pocketbook, he will get his act together and hold teh design team accountable for creating a strong brand

Bad Uni's

The road jerseys look like someone from 1981 designed them with the YMCA esque block lettering. Will the back of the jerseys have both the first and last name too?

The home jerseys look like the Bobcats, Grizzlies, Nuggets and Warriors thrown into a blender with the least expressive block lettering.

As far as a Dubs rip off, I think that belongs to Denver. Their road jerseys are identical to ours. Its a shame too because I can’t f’ing stand the Nuggets with bitch ass Mello and crew.
