Meanwhile… As we’ve been suggesting and hinting, looks like Warriors little-used center Kosta Perovic is in serious negotiations to sign with a Spanish team this season.
This note was a part of his talking points blog about Monta Ellis. Monta 090808. A blog called The Hoop has cited Spanish online newspaper Terra.com as the source. Here is the Hoop blog article: Perovic
If Perovic does sign with another team his 1.6 million dollar salary for this season is taken off the books. It still doesn't free up much cap space as the Warriors are still over the 56 Million dollar soft salary cap. However, the hard cap is some where around 70 million, so the Perovic's departure would help stay under the hard cap. I believe the warriors still have a low level and mid level exemption left.
Also, remember that CJ Watson has yet to be signed, though his is in the Warriors training camp. Therefore the Dubs only have 13 signed players and two open roster spots. Assuming that they sign Watson the question is:
Poll
How should the Warriors fill the roster spot open by Perovic departure?
Add another point guard to mix in with Williams and Watson. (7 votes)
Do some prospecting and sign Shaun Livingston. (151 votes)
Wait until training camp ends to see if a player the Warriors may want is released. (46 votes)
Leave the spot open and find some one during the season from the D-League. (20 votes)
Work on a two for one trade that can address the point guard issue. (25 votes)
We don't need 15 players... 14 players on the roster is enough. (32 votes)
