Cj Watson = Most consistent shooter on this team?

Hey all , I'm new to this forum and yeah , SUP!

OKLAHOMA CITY — Point guard C.J. Watson hit just nine 3-pointers in his first 32 games with the Warriors last season.

He's surpassed that total in just the past seven games.

Watson, who made his name as a scorer when he was in the developmental league early last season, continues to be a threat from the outside, as he made a career-high four 3-pointers during Wednesday night's 107-100 loss to the host Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the past five games, Watson has made 12 of 21 shots from behind the arc and has quickly become one of the Warriors' most consistent perimeter shooters.

Watson is 21-of-40 from behind the line this season, as the right elbow injury he suffered before the season continues to improve.

"I feel a lot more confident now because my arm's a little better," Watson said. "At the beginning of the season, it was still messed up. But it's feeling a little better day by day, so I'm just trying to get it to where it's 100 percent and just go from there."

Is CJ Watson the next Bruce Bowen, good at defense and loves the corner?

He's been consistent these past few games so yeah , is he going to develop into a James Posey type of player?

Anyways thats my first post , leave your thoughts and comments . LATERS

uhh yeah i guess

but pretty much from that corner..i tihnk hes brick from the other corner..and hes horrible on fastbreaks and always messes up, and naw hes not clutch, just really smooth on that shot

by gswfan1 on Jan 1, 2009 1:18 AM PST reply actions

True

but you gotta give him at least another year to develop… after all this is only his 2nd year as a professional player.

by RunNdGun on Jan 1, 2009 1:21 AM PST up reply actions

well he is prob the most consistant shooter

but honestly everytime hes on a fastbreak we never convert a bucket with him

he should just pass to someone that can finish inside.

but no hes good for spot up shooting, honestly he should be a 2

by gswfan1 on Jan 1, 2009 1:46 AM PST reply actions

good at defense?

uhhhh….no comment on that one, but yes he loves the corner.

When Maggette missed those consecutive shots in a span of a humming bird’s flap,
Crawford simply looked at the bench and said, "Are you serious?"

agreed

Nelly has wet dreams about starting Monta at center.

His defense is frustrating. He is not a good defender right now, but there is no reason why he couldn’t be. He just doesn’t put the effort forward on that end. His shot is his best (and possibly only) asset. He can’t run a fast break, break down a defense, finish at the rim in traffic, or run the pick n roll.

If he works on the other parts of his game (IE playmaking, shaky handles, defense), I can see him having a Mo Williams type of ceiling. Not really a true PG, but capable, but his shot is his best asset.

oh yea that too

not a good defender..
i see marco becoming a good defender though, if he works out more he could get the stregnth to defend against 3s

He might not be a lockdown defender

but those hands of his seems to stick out at the right time to save our rear ends. For example the Toronto game winning steal, he killed plenty of fastbreaks with those steals. Also on some plays he forces bad shots from some players, but overall i wouldn’t call him a lockdown defender like Bruce Bowen. What can we say though,GIVE HIM and our other rookies a chance to prove themselves fully.

I know the Warriors are a lot better than the way they're playing right now.
They just have to get healthy and dig deep. THERE'S MORE TO THIS TEAM.

His problem on defense is effort and recognizing the situation. He cannot go under the screen with every guy he’s guarding. He gets torched sometimes doing that.

yeah

expecially RANDOLPH

i mean in 2 games where he palyed signifigant minutes he had like 11 and 10 and 12 and 6

and the nellie chooses nto to play him for 3 games for some reason, well the laker game i got but toronto and .oaklahoma? i mean just for like 10 minutes in the second quarter or somthing….i mean a player will never fully develop to there potental hes not actually on the court learning

I think Randolph did something to piss Nellie off haha

Like Marcus Williams did.

I can't understand this

what’s the problem with Nelson regarding Randolph? This dude has the whole package and is the next Kevin Garnett + dribbling

=Gaucho=

by Gaucho! on Jan 1, 2009 8:16 AM PST up reply actions

You have to perform in practice to get playing time

That goes for everybody and i think Randolph is not giving 100%
That’s why Rob Kurz was actually a part of the rotation for a few games.

CJ exceeded my expectations

At the very least he could make sure we don’t get a huge drop off offensively when we go to the bench.

I love how he always looks happy out there, like “aw shucks just glad to be here”. Maybe it’ll rub off on mister pouty pants on the bench.

i think CJ is one of our most consistant players so far this year.

not good defender...

Pbra17 …the threat reads “Cj Watson = Most consistent shooter on this team?” Not defense! Not sure about D though, but his steals are pretty awesome for a PG. (for our team) Other than Cap Jack, who steals?
