I had a dream...

I know it's MLK weekend and with all respect to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but this post is not at all related to his "I had a dream" speech. I'm posting this because last night, I finally saw the brief footage of Monta Ellis's first 5 on 5 practice (thankyou to Matt Steinmetz) and as I saw Monta step up at the top of the key and hit that sweet jumper that has been sorely missed by all Warrior fans, a new sense of hope began to cross my mind. It was the kind of optimism each Warrior fan has just weeks before the start of the regular season. After I saw that practice footage, I went to bed and I literally had a dream that Monta Ellis was going to be back in action before our match up with the Clippers (a game I will be attending) and possibly against the OKC Thunder (another game I will be attending). In the dream, Monta looked like he had never even been injured and was dunkin' over people like it was nothing to him. He was knockin' down that old reliable jumper and he was fast as ever. Maybe it's just false hope and he won't return until the end of the month but whatever, I believe he will be out there to spoil Baron Davis's return to the Bay Area. I think it's a sign! Either way, I think he's going to come back stronger even if it's not against the Thunder or Clippers and we as Warrior fans have something to look forward to.

I'm confident, that if all goes well with Monta and the front office and he recovers fully from his injury, that this mess of  a Warriors team will get back on track and make up some ground with him back on the team and healthy. Monta alone will change the dynamics of this team and with him in the lineup at full strength, players can go back to their regular positions. Crawford could go back to the 2, Jack at the 3, Wright (when he comes back) at the 4 and Biedrins at 5. Maggs will come off the bench where I think he'll be most effective. As for the rest of our guys, they can continue to come off the bench and provide all sorts of sparks to help this team. With Monta Ellis back in action, I look to see our team play a more inspired brand of basketball. If you read the articles by Matt Steinmetz, he reported that Ellis was playfully trash talking in practice and making the team work harder. He's already lifting the spirit of the team up and it's just good to see him back on that Warrior bench. We've all been patiently waiting and the day is almost here! Get ready Warrior fans, the real start of the 2K8-2K9 season will begin when Monta returns! Go Warriors and everyone have a good three day weekend!

I agree though....

Look at this lineup!!!

PG: Monta/Belinelli/Watson
SG: Crawford/Azubuike/Morrow
SF: Jackson/Maggette
PF: Wright/Randolph
C: Biedrins/Turiaf

Money.

and there you have it

Marco can even slide over to the 2 every once in a while and let Marcus Williams get some action……sike! Nelson would never let that happen. Kurz/Davidson can still maybe find a minute or 2 haha but yeah…our lineup would be way better than what we got right now.

i'm guessing

that the two of them would share the load and sort of play off of eachother. Crawford does have the better handles though and I think he would be doing most of the handling. It’s gonna be interesting to see none the less.

Yeah

We don’t really have a definite PG. Sometimes crawford brings it up, sometimes jackson, sometimes belinelli, sometimes even randolph. but we score, so I don’t mind much :)

I know the economy is bad and all but is that really what we’re calling “money” these days? To me it still just looks like a few too many overpaid guys and slightly less stinky garbage than what we’ve go now. Oh are you guys all wearing those new rose-colored 3D glasses we’re supposed to use to watch the super bowl halftime commercials? Or did I just fall into a sarchasm?

People are just excited...

to watch an actual NBA level product. That line-up isn’t a title contender by any means, but they are approaching middle of the pack, which is good by Warriors standards.

middle of the pack keeps us pretty much out of a shot at Blake Griffin though

Exactly...

I was just saying to a friend that I can see us getting healthy just in time to win enough meaningless games to take us out of good draft position. Wouldn’t be the first time.

From a completely short-term, selfish, instant gratification standpoint it would be nice to see them play well together and win some games at the end of the year.

Why, Do we get something from the wins? Money?? food? sex??

we get Don Nelson closer to his vaunted record & the sooner he gets it the sooner our franchise is likely to move on to rebuilding and retooling through moving some of these veterans out of the way for young studs we will keep drafting at our customary #11-#14 draft postion – well, maybe, just trying to find a silver lining and be optimistic …

i doubt we actually have a real shot at...

Blake Griffin. with the Warriors luck we"ll get the 14th slot again. Hopefully we could just pick up one of the better point guards in the draft.

B*tch! I GO so hard!!

How could we not get better than the 14th spot? Last I looked we were about the 5th worst team in the league?? Can’t our boys work that number down for the rest of the season?? ? They just need some leadership with math skill.

we would have a LOT more…if u look at our games…we had a TON of games that were decided by 5 or fewer points…

u dont think monta would have made that kind of difference?

Lottery

I think we’ll be at the back end of the lottery, but maybe by then, Andris Biedrins will be out for an extended period of time.

I wasnt bragging. It used to drive me crazy. After the first 3 or 4 I realized you must have known, but it took about 25 more for me to understand the joke of it. The humor is really only in the sheer repetition and stubborness involved and its still only very mildly funny.
