Around SBN: Holy War Week Brings out the Worst in Fans

Looks like not only is Boom Dizzle out for Sunday, but he won't be making the trip up to the Yay Area.

I'm not really sure why Geoff Lepper thinks Warriors fans want "to boo him mercilessly for jumping ship in June" when Baron was ultimately forced out because Warriors President Robert Rowell didn't want to pay him and thought it wasn't prudent to bring back Baron after driving up season ticket sales with all the BD ads. But hey- I'm sure there will be plenty of boos. (We'll do a Polling GSoM when he does come back.)

I know I'll be rooting for BD to drop 40 points and posterize this sorry, mismanaged, and incompetent organization every time he's up here while sporting my #5 throwback Warriors jersey. Fear the Beard Rowell and the rest of the BD haters.

Like my main man DT over at FTB eloquently stated- I cheer for people, not laundry. We Believe was Baron, J-Rich, Barnes, MP2, Foyle, Jack, Al, Andris, Monta, Sarunas (the cheering), Nellie, and Mullin plus the golden fans.

Atma you should check FITZ on KNBR cuz he is singing a different story...

hey atma, you should really call in and check fitz because according to him it is all BARON’s fault. he never mentions RR or any of the other things that you have mentioned. I’ve tried to get in to lambaste fitz about his views on the situation but have never had enough time to stay on hold. Don’t know if you listen to KNBR but ROD does check him a little but then fitz gets a little homerish and doesn’t want to hear him. Could be a case of selective memory.
I know that he is buddies with Rowell and has said as much but I think when he pretends to be unbiased it just irks me. I love him as our announcer and overall think he is a good host but wit the Notre Dame stuff and being a little too homerish at times just annoys me. I know he gets his paycheck from the DUBS but just dont like it when he doesn’t tell both sides of the story.

Agreed

I think Ftiz is a great play-by-play man and he was a top notch radio personality in the 90’s. His work on the NBA 2k series is great too! He’s graciously done an interview with us in the past. I like the guy. But there’s an obvious conflict of interest there with him being an employee of the Warriors.

Just to clarify...

…you do want us to win the game that he drops 40 in, right? Cause I have no interest in the Clippers rolling over on us.

Very interesting point

With the lottery implications- yes, I’d like the Warriors to lose that game.

The primary objective for this team at this point in this lost season should be building up morale, finding out who to keep and who to move (not saying gift minutes- if they can’t earn it in practice they don’t deserve to play), and try to get the best lottery spot as possible. This season is lost.

I’m hoping they tank it in the most fun and entertaining way possible- that means beating the hated Fakers even though it means less super lotto balls.

i miss baron!

dang..im hella mad now..i been anticipating his return since the day he left! first i wanted to boo him for bouncing on us, then when i found out about the story, and i understood. it’s business man! but dang do we miss him out here in the Bay! now he’s not comin back to throw down an insane stat line against his former team? i’m upset! oh well at least Monta’s back. of BTW, i noticed how you named everyone from that “We believe” season : We Believe was Baron, J-Rich, Barnes, MP2, Foyle, Jack, Al, Andris, Monta, Sarunas (the cheering), Nellie, and Mullin plus the golden fans. You put Monta all the way at the end with next to Sarunas! come on now Atma…why do you hate him? forgive but don’t forget..he’s a warrior!

We are not the same, I am a Martian! -Weezy F. Baby! Ya Diiiigg!

I’m honored, but I think you’re reading way too much into what I’m writing!

And for the record:

  • Monta was an important part of We Believe during that 16-5 run, but not so much in the playoffs
  • No one “hates” Monta

So why are your running the Warriors Blog?
Like my main man DT over at FTB eloquently stated- I cheer for people, not laundry. We Believe was Baron, J-Rich, Barnes, MP2, Foyle, Jack, Al, Andris, Monta, Sarunas (the cheering), Nellie, and Mullin plus the golden fans.

I cheer for the name on the front of the jersey and not the back. That’s a true Warrior fan.
