Another Thoughtless Trade: Hinrich for Ellis

Here's the link:

http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/smith_090126.html

Here's where I found it:

www.nba.com

Here's my response:

Kirk Hinrich, Andres Nocioni and Tyrus Thomas for Monta Ellis, Corey Maggette, Brandan Wright and Ronny Turiaf

Okay, so we give up somebody who's potentially a future all star, Mr. Bad Porn, the guy we traded away J-Rich for, and the best cheerleader in the league. So we give up a facillitator who is a threat in the open court. Corey gives us tons of points and turnovers off the bench. B-Wright, everybody has their own opinion about him. And Ronny Turiaf, he's a top-notch defender except when it comes to the King.

Kirk Hinrich, my first guess is that he'll have a clash with Crawford. Andres Nocioni might be able to stretch the defense, but slow much?!?! Tyrus Thomas? Uhh...sure. I don't know. Whatever

What a useless fan post.

Here's your thoughts:

EDIT: I only spent four minutes writing this post cause I had to go play basketball. Now that I'm back, and I pulled a muscle in my back, I think I have TONS of time to write now.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Nope

Just needed to read the title to realize that this was a dumb idea. WE ARE NOT TRADING MONTA ELLIS. Everyone just needs to accept that and stop with the pointless trade ideas. Focus them instead on trading Davidson, Kurz, and Williams for a semi decent guy who doesnt mind not playing at all when we have a healthy 12 man rotation.

I Believe In Monta Ellis.

That's a good idea

I ought to try it in 2k9. Rose and Ellis backcourt!

I read this over at the Blog-a-Bull

and was wondering what you guys thought about this. My first thought was, “Why would GS give up Monta for this??” I think this is from the mind of Sam Smith. The guy is a rumor machine.

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Worst trade ever...

a while ago one of our members suggested that we trade a bunch of our garbage for Oden. That’s got to be up there.

Thing 2

by olympicmike on Jan 26, 2009 3:46 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

and not just for the warriors. dude wants to blow up the bulls and poach every available player off the worst teams of the west coast. wtf? this will somehow make the bulls a contender in the second half of the season? monta, derrick rose, maggette, deng, and kaman? do those five people even know each other’s names?

o right. maggette and kaman do. that’s what it is! rebuild the clippers from 5 years ago in chicago with a really good rookie and england’s best basketball player = MAGIC.

by Ormolov on Jan 26, 2009 6:30 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Monta Ellis>Kirk Hinrich
Corey Maggette>Andres Nocioni
Brandan Wright>Tyrus Thomas

then plus just giving away Ronny Turiaf?!?!?
are you kidding me

by gorillas on Jan 26, 2009 3:05 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

the only one I’m not sure about there is Wright over Thomas. Its close. But yea your point still works.

Hinrich for Ellis

Even I wouldn’t do this trade. We can do better than hindrick with Montay. Either a better point or a power forward.

Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?
I noticed there's so many of them
and there's really not that many of us.

by Skeptic con Urquell on Jan 26, 2009 3:10 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

wow!

Sam Smith is retarded. aint he the guy who bashed J Rch not to long ago? and to think we would rather have that. and to just give up Turiaf?! if we did not have him we would have less wins than the Clippers.

So I don't have a signature well these words would do! Who knew that upgrades can have downgrades too!

wow.........

trade monta, wright, mags, turiaf for those scrubs?
i would only trade them for STAT

by rOracle408 on Jan 26, 2009 4:02 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

The only way I would ever, ever, ever possibly trade Monta

Is in an Antonio McDyess style trade for Baron Davis. Where monta then rejoins the team.

or probably for LeBron James. Or Dwyane Wade. Maybe Chris Paul. But that’s it!

by bradyk2 on Jan 26, 2009 4:12 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Monta

He still has a way to go to get back to form. If he ever does (which I hope he will).

I’d be surprised anyone would trade for him until he shows he can do what he used to be able to do consistently.

Personally, I’d say a suns trade of sorts would make more sense (lets get Nash!)

by mosdl on Jan 26, 2009 4:14 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

He already proved he's just as fast as before and can jump still

He just needs to get his conditioning back. And why the hell would we want Nash? He’s an old and aging point that needs a near championship team around him for it to make sense. That’s not us.

by Calamity on Jan 26, 2009 4:27 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

THe nash thing was a joke :)

We want to continue to develop our youngsters.

I hope his mid-long range jumper comes back – conditioning is easy to get back.

If it comes from Sam Smith, you already know it’s not a credible source.

Wow,

I sat back and tried to think of a possible upside to this trade and counldnt think of even 1. We get rid of Maggette’s contract but pick up bad ones in Nocioni and Hinrich. Both are decent players but are grossly over paid for several years. Thomas is a high flyer and does ok on the glass, but seems to have a low basketball iq and a bad attitude. Also Thomas is not as good as Wright, and we are also losing are only backup center. To complete the deal we are tossing in our franchise player(22 years old, just inked a pretty reasonable contract in the off season) for some reason to be determined.

Can anyone think of one positive?

Too bad our front office is such a debacle, otherwise we might be good someday...

we wouldnt have to try and tank then....

so maybe its part of our master plan to get Griffin.

just because he got on Charles Barkley’s nerves so much. Only other white player that was good was none other than white chocolate, but what a waste of talent. Nothing wrong with great white players, just the average ones, like Hinrich, we don’t need to see anymore of, please ’o please!
