Are New Uniforms on the way?

What do you guys know about this rumor swirling around? I thought maybe I'd change the subject from their awful play and lack of hope.

I really want to get a Biedie jersey, but I don't want to do it if they're going to make it obsolete in 8 months.

Any truth to these rumors? Does it have to do with our elimination of our mascot, Thunder because Clay Bennett gave OKC the worst name in pro sports? Our main logo has Thunder on it, and if he's gone from the games, I figure he's gotta be gone from the logo... then at that point, I figure they'll change the jerseys.

Any legit news you know would be sweet.

This FanPost is a submission from a member of the mighty Golden State of Mind community. While we're all here to throw up that W, these words do not necessarily reflect the views of the GSoM Crew. Still, chances are the preceding post is Unstoppable Baby!

Retro Jerseys

I love those. They are the best jerseys in the NBA.

for real, all our throwbacks are pretty clean.

They should be our regular jerseys now, even out of state casual fans would rock a Monta ‘The City’ jersey

by THIZZ-A-LOT on Jan 3, 2009 1:55 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

hell yeah

especially the logo with the california with the star over the bay. I think they should build around that logo and make a new jersey. I don’t think we should go retro as our every game jersey but those are definitely sick.

by Agent Zero on Jan 3, 2009 5:18 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

honestly

i think they will have to soon. In my opinion, changing a teams jersey is more about drawing the fans attention back in more than anything. Trying to symbolize that the team is changing for the better by changing the jersey to a better look. And right now a change is definitely in order. I think Warriors fans had put up with losing for so long that two good seasons is not enough to make up for the draught.

Monta! Montaye! Montae!

by Baked Biedrins on Jan 3, 2009 3:41 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah...

Although, things aren’t exactly getting better soon. It’s pretty ugly.

A lot of my buddies are convinced that new jerseys are on the way. One heard a rumor that they were going to try to incorporate the new Bay Bridge Tower….

But when they hell are they finishing that bridge? Malpractice Maggette has a better chance to start all 82 games in a season than that bridge does of being finished on time.

lol

stupid taxes and budgets i could of swore that thing was suppose to be done like 5 years ago and the toll was still $2 that bridge will be done in like 2222 by the time its done haha

So I don't have a signature well these words would do! Who knew that upgrades can have downgrades too!

Our jerseys right now sucks

almost as bad as the OKC ones…

We Believe 2.0!
I know the Warriors are a lot better than the way they're playing right now.
They just have to get healthy and dig deep. THERE'S MORE TO THIS TEAM.

by RunNdGun on Jan 3, 2009 1:42 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

know whats bad

most people think OKC copied our jerseys.

So I don't have a signature well these words would do! Who knew that upgrades can have downgrades too!

Know what's worse

I read the other day that the OKC mascot is planned to be similar to Benny the Bull and the Phoenix Gorilla

Monta! Montaye! Montae!

wow

do they even know how dumb they are looking?!!!

i actually like our Orange ones, except we dont wear em too much

But there will never be a better time for new jerseys, especially from a business point of view; “Distract the Disgruntled Fans” so i wouldnt be suprised if they do show up soon, then again with our teams managment, i wouldnt be suprised if they dont show up ever.
But man how heartbreaking would it be if they come out and are straight up ugly…

you are like 8 months too late .....

been talked about. thought they were coming out next season already….. you know how they are hush hush on all this shit tho. Before this season i remember talking about how people thought the uni’s were coming THIS year but all the evidence points to next season for the debut.

In other news, did you hear that Left-Eye from TLC was involved in a fatal car crash….. sad stuff.

I am Greg Oden, i am goingz to be trade to The Warrior. hoooray.

Warriors for life. Raiders till death. And The A's when i get free tickets.

Nike movement?

I’d love to see us get some of those new Nike jerseys they use at UNC, UConn, etc. The ones that have baggy shorts, and tight tops. and then get them with the mid-90s logo:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/1135000/images/_1136189_jamison150.jpg

That would be totally sick.

by bradyk2 on Jan 3, 2009 8:30 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

We must have polar opposite senses of court aesthetics. Those college shorts literally look like skirts.

by ffgolden on Jan 4, 2009 2:01 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i am not a fan of the tight tops at all

they look like an undershirt with the sleeves cut off

Simple

I hope our new jerseys are simple just like UConn and G-Town and not so flashy and bright like the ones we got now.

by Somar on Jan 3, 2009 9:38 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i wouldn't mind

gettin somethin simple like the run tmc days…

nellie's a loser

and even if the team wore uniforms to make the players invisible, the warriors STILL wouldn’t get any more rebounds—due to the idiocy that is nellie-ball.

You should get the Biedrins jersey

I bought an Ellis jersey a while back, even when I heard rumors of the team changing their jerseys.

That way, maybe 5 years from now when Monta is dominating the league (hopefully), I can rock the jersey that I have currently have and i’ll say, “Monta Ellis rookie jersey, baby”. (Since the Warriors would have new jerseys by the time Monta is in his prime). haha.

Also, the jerseys that the Warriors have right now are pretty nice IMO. I think people are just tired of them since we’ve had the same colorway on our jerseys for such a long time, and most of it was during our playoff drought. So in a sense, these current colors and layout of our jerseys paint out the word “we suck” for most Warriors fans. Blue and yellow have a more “winning” feel to the team, since we remember the Warriors in those colors as the ’75 championship team, as well as the Run TMC era where we made the playoffs a lot and had multiple all-stars.

With our current colors, it somewhat makes our team look “electrifying” on the court, in my opinion. I can see where the designers tried to go with our logo and colorway; the thunderbolt in our logo, along with the night-ish thunderish color scheme. The road jerseys really stood out best on 2 occasions: J-Rich in the dunk contest putting on a show with his thunderous dunks; and the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs when they were easily running a high octane offense against the Mavericks. It’s eye catching, except the Warriors have been sucking so bad over the years that their jersey’s just ended up representing a losing franchise. The jerseys look really nice when the team is winning, though.

It’s like, basketball fans are so used to yellow and purple as dominating because of the Lakers. But, if the Lakers were a bad franchise and had a terrible history, then eveyone would probably be making fun of their team for incorporating yellow and purple in their team’s colors, since it looks girly.

This post is hella random, but whatever.

Good point

I’m just glad I never pulled the trigger on a Baron jersey. Lord knows I wanted to and probably should have at the time, but I wouldn’t be able to look at it now.

i feel you!

i got baron’s last year’s throwback and it hurts me too much to look at it! but no matter what, i’m still gunna rock it since it’s so clean. at least he had many great performances wearing that jersey, so that definitely eases some of the pain especially since i spent $75 on it! LOL.

1989-1997

Best uniforms bar none. Simple, still modern and have the best color combo…Blue and Gold.
