Polling GSoM: What's keeping you interested in the 2008-2009 Golden State Warriors?
To bring in the 2k9 we're adding a fresh new regular section to the mighty Golden State of Mind. There's thousands of you who come here daily to get your Warriors, NBA, and hoops culture fix, so we want to see thousands of votes here (not one hundred million Dr. Evil ballot stuffing votes).

All right Dubs Nation to kick off this first one let's see what's keeping the loyalest fans from the loyalest fanbase in the entire association interested in this incredibly difficult 2008-2009 Golden State Warriors season. It was less than 2 years ago when we were shocking the world with the most entertaining team in the league and now we're back to suck. What's keeping you golden right now?

Where is the option for...
I stayed interested for the previous suckfest, why would I not be interested now?
My pictures never show up here, so this is my new Signature

Furthermore...
the option for “I’m a golden state warriors fan and I don’t need a reason to cheer for my favorite team, even when they are the suck.”
If I had to choose though, it would be pending return of Mr. Moped. :)

Been a MANIAC diehard Warriors fan since Run TMC,
why quit now? The only bad thing about the ‘We Believe’ playoff run was it gave me this wierd idea that we are a real franchise and can actually compete. I still had that idea stuck in my head last season and it lingered in the back of my head for this season. But this year RR firmly reminded us that we are indeed not a real franchise and Chris Cohan has no clue how to run a franchsie. I went through the seven stages of depression but now I have calmy returned to fan I was before the 06’-07. Which is to watch, cheer(unconditionally), and enjoy the product, but ALWAYS remeber that our beloved franchise is run by clowns and the MOST competetive we can be is the 8th seed and a miracle upset.
There is almost nothing to be excited about our team at the moment. Horrible salary cap situation, best player injured via moped, front office in utter chaos, coach who likes the drama and soap opera more than actually winning. Young talent that hasnt proven anything that doesnt get playing time to get a chance to prove aything. However this was the norm back in the day and I am slowly adjusting back to it.
What is the status of our petitions to fire Robert Rowell and have Chris Cohan commit Hari Kiri, or at least sell the team?

Atma,
good post man, should change the poll question to what is the most intresting thing about the 2008-09 warriors.
I voted on Marcus Willaims minutes, I was hoping for an option like ‘Rookie has solid game followed by multiple DNP-CD.’ : )

Nice headline....
I’ll be a fan until I die or until they move to another city. I hope you guys wipe up your tears with your Dunleavy jerserys… If you’ve been fans for that long!

nellie's a loser
and run tmc only resulted in ONE playoff series win in the 3 years they existed. another reckless romanticizing of the fraud that is nellie-ball.
now, the 93-94 rookie-webber team had a much better chance to eventually do something (they made it to the playoffs without having hardaway that year)—but, of course, guess who blew THAT up?? the one and only egomaniacal, blackmailing, scumbag himself.

I like to watch
the way we bring out the best in opposing teams. We make ordinary players look like allstars . It’s fun to see what random scrub will knock down 30 points against our stellar Defense.

It is fun to see that random scrub have a career game, and guessing who it might be,
but it also fun to see the likes of Kevin Durant have a field day and boost his season stats all across the board signinficantly in just 4 games against the W’s.

Holy Crap!
Her very “squawky voice” really grates to the point that her last presentation she did, we all looked at each other in our section and said…. “what did she say?”
If I were her I would stick to the modelling as presenting..her voice at least…aint her bag!
Seems a nice lass though! :-)

Alot of reasons
Monta Ellis Return
Watching Wright Randolph Bellinelli and other young guys get better
Andris becoming one of the top centers in the NBA
Hopefully good draft picks
BlockBuster trades that may happen that change our team for the better
A future contending Team with a line up of
C Andris PF Wright SF Randolph SG Jackson PG Ellis

had to go with improbable playoff run
although, i would have changed the wording to “impossible”. either way, i’m a fan to see them win, even if they won’t.

I'm just sitting tight
and waiting to see if the W’s are gonna be good or not when Monta comes back. But anyway we do need to make a trade, mainly involving Maggs and Williams.

If I pretend it is most interesting part of the season, then it’s the young players. If I don’t then what everyone else said, who needs a reason other than because they are my team?

growing up in SF during the 60s
ever since FM brought the team to SF in the early 60s, I’ve been a fan. We lost a NBA championship to Boston … we traded Wilt to the 76ers & won 17 games – then we drafted ROY Rick Barry – and he got us back to the NBA finals only to get beat by the, you guessed it – 76ers. Crushing. Then Barry sat out in a contract dispute, and spent some years in the ABA. That’s when a boy realized sports was really business.
Barry returned and we won it all in 1974–75. How could anyone not be a fan when your team wins it all? The Bullets’ series was the epitome of a team built around defense, a star, young talent, and solid coaching. Thirty years later we’ve yet to replicate the success of that formula …

repeating as NBA champions is one of the most difficult tasks even for great teams
and that GSW was a big underdog to the Bullets in that series, making it all the sweeter – magnify the GSW playoff dismissal of Dallas by about x100

I live in Brazil and I´m a Warriors fan for more than a decade now. I started following the team reight before the 17, 19 and 19 wins seasons in the late 90s, early 2000s. I love my Warriors, I have a Warriors tattoo on my arm. I was a huge fan of Mookie Blaylock, I was a huge fan of Jamison, a huge fan of Baron Davis and now my favorite Warrior is Stephen Jackson (always loved him since his San Antonio days). I have all the Warriors games from the last 4 seasons downloaded, I have pictures, stats, videos, sounds, analisys from every day. I live the Warriors everyday. I have a life also, I´m married, I have my home, but the Dubs are my second love. I will keep following them, even if they suck OKC Thunder level suck. Warriors 4 ever man!

I'm not quite sure actually
I love watching sports. I love almost anything competitive. I love basketball. I love the warriors. As much as I hate them, I love them. I am a fan of the Dubz, as all of you are. A terrible losing streak can’t change that. Nor a terrible season (if it could, there would be very few of us). So I guess my answer to the poll is… all of the above? Everything listed there interests me, and I just wanna be along for the ride when all those sub-plots play out…
Go Dubz!!!
