Wait hold up, he didn't say what I think he did, did he? Now my Brother already dropped some thoughts on it earlier today, (see - Stephen "Captain Technical" - 2 technical fouls in 3 PRESEASON games?) but let me just say this Mr. Jackson. It's getting very hard to justify what I said in the player prediction from this year and last year. It is however, getting very easy to justify this portrait I drew of you.
Anyway, on to tonight's game!

- Monta Ellis has another 20+ game and makes me regret talkin all that smack last year.
- AR4 comes down with a double-double
- Captain Jack gets another tech - new record baby!
- Amar'e tears it up and we all ask ourselves why we still have Andris Biedrins and Brandan Wright.
- It's another sunny day in California!
- We're all ECSTACTIC that we don't have to watch a crappy stream of the game!

Run and gun time
The Suns are supposedly back to their run and gun ways, so I’m ready for some high flying action. If the winds pick up, there’s always slipping in for layups.
I was going to predict another poor shooting night for Curry, but shooting numbers won’t mean much if the wind picks up.

Remember the back 2 back games we had with them? High scoring!
Yeah, but now they don't have shaq
so they can run even more. However, I just read their first preseason recap, and they said they’re trying to focus on defense this season. So we’ll see how much defense each team tries to play tonight.

About Jackson's suspension
one local writer did make a point about how servring the suspension with a couple of preseason games don’t mean much, but I think the Warriors had to do it, even if the suspended games are preseason only.

think you would have a lane violation cause you cant pass the line untill it hits the rim. thats why everyone always stays still and does not shoot a jump shot for a FT.

there is no way to draw a brightline for a line violation other than one's feet & the floor
because today, 40% of your legs cross the “plane” when you bend to shoot, 90% of your arms go beyond the “plane” when releasing the ball, and a player almost always leans in after shooting, tapping their foot down right after the ball hits the rim (some even earlier).
As far as the “not seeing jump shots on free throws” goes, I think that’s just because a set shot is easier and free throws are usually a time players try to catch their breadth. Some players aren’t entirely still either- Gilbert starts in a wide stance and then shifts his right foot in during the shooting motion. Biedrins does some sort of two-foot scissor hop during his free throws.
The rule should only forbid contact beyond the “plane” with your feet. As long as the brick or swish hits before the player regains contact with the floor, it could work.
So… Just Imagine… Dwight Howard adopting the bounding Rick Berry. Or, Kobe doing a flying Tony Parker. Or, Anthony Randolph doing some sort of jumping-pivot-glide finger roll.
Not a good idea- but, possible and possibly interesting.

As...
…a staunch detractor of trading Biedrins, I’m always gonna be happy to see a game in which he dominates the boards. Especially snagging 15 rebounds to Amar’e’s 8. Also, much as Ellis and Curry have impressed me in their individual ways, minutes for Morrow have to come from somewhere. At this point I’d be fine tossing Jackson in the dumpster and giving the lion’s share of his minutes to Morrow.

Actually it was only 5 boards, in 29 minutes. Plus zero blocks. In the same number of minutes, AB had 15 boards and 3 blocks. Hm, what was that prediction again…?
Amar’e tears it up and we all ask ourselves why we still have Andris Biedrins and Brandan Wright.
I asked myself. And the answer came: because trading Biedrins, Wright and Curry for a taller version of Corey Maggette would have been a very silly thing to do.
