Another Suitor for Warriors?
The bid of Oracle CEO Larry Ellison has been out there, but details of another intriguing offer to buy the Warriors has emerged, several sources told Yahoo! Sports. There is a well-moneyed and politically connected Bay Area group that has approached Cohan about purchasing the team and building a privately funded arena in downtown San Francisco. What’s more, the group has already had third parties call several well-respected NBA front-office executives about running the team.

The fact that they said move the team to SF make me want to throw up.
If someone wants us to move to SF it’s for money. They won’t care about us they will look at it as a “business opportunity”. Nothing against the SF fans but I would just be very mad if we moved out of Oracle. Oracle is arguably the best arena in the NBA. The fans are louder in the area where Oracle is. Moving it to a business area will make the stadium much quieter ( like the Cowboys new stadium.) If someone buys this team I want them to keep us where we are!

San Francisco Warriors?
That’s shallower than LA Lakers

Ellison
You guys think this report will force Ellison’s hand, or does he bow out of the running?

I think Ellison will make a strong push for this team
He actually cares about the team, but those other guys are just looking to make more money off an NBA team.

It's no secret this franchise is a cash cow
The Bay Area is the 2nd most smartest city in America so there are plenty of middle class people that have the money to spend on “A Great Time Out!”

"2nd most smartest"
I like that.
For the thirteen time in 3 or one evers, I found myself toothlessly thinking about Manny Ramirez.

It’s a city? What’s the most smartest?

I don't care who buys the team.
Just get rid of Cohan and Rowell.

This would be great.
AT&T Park brings in the fans and cash..I don’t see why a new arena can’t. A good reason why a lot of Warriors fans from San Francisco don’t go to games “as often” is because it’s such a hassle having to take BART or driving to Oracle Arena. Not to mention the surrounding area is a dump. San Francisco would give the Warriors a better image…and cut the association with cruddy Oakland.

Because LA give the Clippers such a better image from San Diego?
Or Oklahoma City is better then Seattle? The fans in SF are not the same as the fans in Oakland. And who cares if the surrounding area is bad? Like when the Raiders went to LA the fans were not nearly as crazy as they were in Oakland. A new city won’t give us a better image, winning does. Look at Detroit, when they won the Finals they got tons of respect but were in a horrible area.

Ellison makes Mikhail Prokhorov seem poor
the luxury tax would be non-existent and this would truly turn the franchise around

I love the Oracle and all,
but it would be pretty sweet if the Warriors played in SF. After all, it is their original location in the bay and to be honest, I think the fans would still go crazy there. Either way, get Cohan out of there.
