Traitor

"Captain" Jack is no longer a Warriors team captain. Now he's just acting like a jack- well, it's a family show so we won't go there.

+ Stephen Jackson gives up Warriors' captaincy (Thanks to IQofaWarrior for the FanPost)

Hopefully there's NOT more to come on this. Seriously it's incredibly annoying writing about these silly tantrums. Let's talk BASKET-BAAAAAAAAALL. You know that BASKET-BAAAAAAAAAAALL!

You're welcome

I remember the flood of Stephen Jackson fanposts back when we first heard about his displeasure. Anyway, that Tony.psd photoshop seems all the more spot-on now, after reading some of Jack’s quotes from today.

I used to be a big fan of his and one of the few guys who supported him on this board. The word hate is strong but after what he has pulled and what he stands for it is time for this loser to go somewhere else. Ship him to Siberia!

I think the vast majority of folks in the Bay Area genuinely liked Jack before all this drama and that’s what makes it so sad. Don’t get me wrong- I still like the man, but he’s very much in the wrong about all of this.

No matter how incompetent and unprofessional Chris Cohan and Robert Rowell are that doesn’t excuse this silliness.

I side with Jax, I’m a fan of the players not a fan of management. We all talk about what a crappy job they are doing but Jax is the one putting his assets on the line. I don’t care what the “fans” think is due them, we wouldn’t have a strong game without strong players.
Look at the facts, they turned a playoff team into a kiddie team after telling Jax they were gonna build a winner, they traded everyone they could for someone cheaper or less experienced, then they leave him in after he gets two quick fouls trying to deal with Kobe, then they don’t back him up against the rookie refs? You are not pissed then you are not a player, how do you think Boom woulda reacted? How about Lebron, he’s been talkin about NEWYork for two years and can’t even come out and shake hands after being eliminated? All you “fans” that think Jax did you “wrong” better take up another sport cause you don’t understand this one.

Not sure I buy that. I sided with J-Rich, Baron, and to an extent Al Harrington over management. I root for players, not jerseys.

But don’t get it twisted, it is incredibly hard to root for Stephen Jackson right now. His latest quotes are simply idiotic. No 31 year old in their right mind would saying that garbage.

I don’t buy he’s so passionate about winning, etc. He signed his extension well after that silly Jason Richardson contract dump, after Baron Davis was sent packing, after Matt Barnes/ Mickael Pietrus were gone. That’s on him. He signed up to play on a loser- that was his choice and his choice alone. To whine about that and openly disrespect his teammates and the captain role is a joke.

Have you seen the replays of his latest fouls/ technical foul in that Laker game? He had it coming. What’s the coaching staff supposed to do? Get a T every time Jackson exhibits ZERO self control in a game? That’s not having his back, that’s being dumb.

Look the team is obviously trying to trade him- even to a contender if possible to do him a favor. Instead of giving other teams a reason to want to trade for him, he’s giving them all the reason to NOT trade for him and his guaranteed tantrums.

He’s just being honest with us, most of the guys won’t tell us what they really think because they are trying to cover their own butts.
Look at it from a players perspective. He signed on for a goal that they promised but then backed out on. They decided to cater to the soft fans who want young hype instead of sound theory. If they can sell tickets by drafting hype they can save money.
They shouldn’t have given him the extension if they didn’t want him around any more, they knew that with Jax you get what you see. He’s still the same everyone else has just changed.
Why didn’t they just pull him after the 2nd foul? why didn’t they jaw at the official? They had their own agenda and it wasn’t good. I’d like to see Jax get traded but not because I don’t like him but because I think he deserves better, He always had our backs when we didn’t get any respect around the league.

He’s making MILLIONS of dollars WORKING. What he has done has been extremely unprofessional and outright WRONG.

I do agree with him that the FO is very stupid, but the way he handled it is wrong and there is really no way to argue in his favor.

Really!? Really!?

Man, that’s crazy talk, just crazy talk. Did you even read the post you were responding to? The point is Jackson was out of control, hasn’t been on his best behavior, already had an issue with thinking management and the coaching staff had bailed on him, and he wasn’t playing smart. The only thing you might argue is that Nelson should have benched him sooner, but I guessing that doesn’t really solve the problem, because then he’s just sitting there on the bench stewing.

Jackson has got to realize, as a friend used to say to me “you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” He’s established a reputation as a whiner; Kobe has established a reputation as a winner. Yes, I know he’s a Laker and a cheat. I’m sure he was throwing elbows and we know he was taunting Jack. Jack’s job is to man up and shut him down anyway, not get enraged, rack up 5 fouls and get sent to the showers. Jackson has got to see that he is hurting himself more than anyone else. At worst, Nelson just gave him a chance to see it.

Maybe you think this would all be better if the Amar’e trade had gone through. Jackson is probably happier if it does, but I don’t think Amar’e is and I don’t think anyone who knows what Biedrins and Wright are worth are. If that trade went through, the Suns are certainly in the playoffs. The Warriors, not so much. Maybe this year, maybe eighth seed, but only this year because Amar’e moves on and good luck trying to find a decent center, let alone one of Biedrins quality.

Jackson hurt the team last year with his lack of faith in his team mates – exhibited primarily by poor shot selection and not passing to guys like Morrow when they are open. He did a lot to help the team too, but Jackson’s foolish misapprehension of his team mates abilities was on display then; it manifest itself as a demand for a big name then a trade demand this summer. Jackson isn’t a very good judge of what makes a good basketball player or a good basketball team. Judging by his comments regarding his contract, his actions, and other teams potential interest in him, Jackson also doesn’t understand anything else that goes in to building a good professional basketball team. If there is anyone in the organization less qualified to make personnel decisions for the Warriors than Robert Rowell, Stephen Jackson is that man.

Jackson isn’t a very good judge of what makes a good basketball player or a good basketball team.?

Haha, You think you are more qualified? I’ve learned to listen to the guys out in the field doing the work instead of the “experts” sitting around telling them how to do it. I think you’ll get a truer version from a player like Jax than from an executive like Rowell.
Just cause you don’t like the news don’t shoot the messenger, Jax is just being honest which is a good thing if you know how to live with the truth.

You think you are more qualified?

Than Jackson? To be a GM? Yes. No qualms with that idea whatsoever. To play NBA ball? no way.

Jax is just being honest which is a good thing if you know how to live with the truth.

Jackson isn’t being honest with himself, let alone anyone else. That’s the real problem here; he’s not willing (or able?) to see how his actions are connected to, and have in fact caused many of the things he is complaining about. I can’t say for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Jackson wasn’t part of why Amar’e wasn’t too excited to come to GSW.

hey Atma, lay off Monta he looks like he being a team player. Save the traitor stuff for when he has his bipolar moment in the future, not now. We need to come together.

Taking it too far...

Talk about a traitor. His comments are getting out of hand and are disrespectful to the fans in a way. This guy is a good back up player coming off the bench on another team at best. He was the number 3 or 4 guy on the 07 squad anyway.

I

hope he don’t pull a Marbury and just stop going than watch us in the stands. I hope he at least plays.

So I don't have a signature well these words would do! Who knew that upgrades can have downgrades too!

This is what happens when your team sucks.

Anyways, why is Monta’s name on there? I understand he made people mad (still does, maybe) but I don’t see “being a traitor” as his problem.
