That's Nellie, not afraid to experiment
We’ll see how physical Acie Law really is on defense.

Great.
There goes AR’s playing time. He’ll be riding the pine after AR gets a quadruple double this year. just wait.
“After Anthony Randolph records 23 points. 10 rebounds. 10 assists. and 10 blocks, Don Nelson rewards him with 0 minutes playing time vs. the Los Angeles Lakers. Can anyone explain that?”
“AR’s just not NBA ready.”
right?
Another one of Nellie’s bright ideas. I don’t know why some of you LOVE NELLIE so much.
This is just frustrating.

I don’t think AR playing time will be affected much by Acie Law. AR is more of a PF/C than SF most of the time. Acie Law won’t get much playing time, probably less than 5-10 min/game

What makes you think playing the point forward will take away AR's time?
I think Nellie is referring to the small forward spot for Acie Law.
by IQofaWarrior on Oct 15, 2009 4:07 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Because it's Nellie's idea.
And in Nellie World, the Small Forward position is for Steph Curry to play.
He also created the idea for the acronym of PF to mean Point Forward because of Chris Webber.
We all know Nellie is stubborn and we know he going to stick with his wacky instincts, plans and ideas.
Then we are all going to wonder WHY Curry isnt playing well …
ORRRRRR WHY acie LAW sucks.
THEY DONT SUCK. its because Nellie forces players to play out of position.
Curry IS NOT a SF. Acie Law is not a POWER FORWARD. They are GUARDS and shouldn’t play anything outside of that position.
Pietrus is a natural Guard. HE IS NOT A POWER FORWARD.
“Why couldn’t he do that with the Warriors?”

whoa, whoa, whoa. CALM. DOWN. Curry hasn’t played a minute of small forward yet and Law has yet to play a minute of power forward, or small forward, or point forward, or forward forward. You should know better than to take Nelson at his word and at this point its just something they are experimenting with in practice.
I wouldnt be quick to blame Nelson if Curry bombs as Nellie has a pretty phenomenal track record of developing younger players.
If Acie Law sucks this year then it probably IS because he sucks He wasn’t good in ATL so why should we blame Nelson if he comes here and continues to not be good?
Pietrus’ numbers in Orlando are almost identical to his numbers here so I’m not really sure what it is that youre referring to that he was unable to do here.

My overraction towards Nellie.
Waddup sam23. I’m sure you have read enough of my Warrior Blabberings to know how I feel about Nellie, and I’m just about sick of him coaching this team right now.
You are right. I can’t put all the blame on him for the mess now or for any future mess.
All I know is he loves to play mind games and does a pretty good job of avoiding full blown blame without actual solidifed factual proof.
It’s really the FO as a WHOLE to blame. You cant say OH ITS MULLIN… GOOD RIDDENS. OH ITS NELLIE… FIRE HIM NOW! (notice how i didn’t mention RR AND CC for being singled out.)
You know I want to give KEITH SMART a PROVEN CHANCE to be head coach of this squad. With Nellie’s track record, it seems to be slowly walking into that direction. (i hope).
I kinda see the situation folding out like Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary’s transaction to Head Coach. No im not putting Keith Smart in that realm of greatness in Singletary…but a parellel crown to it. Only because We all know Singletary is a PLAYERS’ COACH. I believe Keith Smart is the same way with the Dubs Players. I think he has their respect (which i think is reciprocated between coach and player(s) ). He has been learning under Nellie’s offensive scheme but he is different from nellie where he seems to communicate well with the players and would like to emphasize on TEAM DEFENSE.
I could only hope for this to happen. and to happen soon. Give him 2 years is all i ask.
if he fails..FINE. then I’m dead wrong. Ain’t nothin new to me. I chant GO WARRIORS (place the year hEAR) NBA CHAMPS! SO WHAT! Being wrong ain’t nathan new to me and I will continue to be optimistic as best as I can regardless of my furious frustrations with the team.
Just give KEITH SMART a PROVEN chance.
I’m sick of this organization on giving up on something so quickly that was never GIVEN A PROVEN CHANCE. It’s my biggest pet peeve. It just proves that this wreckless world doesn’t believe in patience and strong belief.
“GIVE ME INSTANT SUCCESS. I DEMAND IT NOW. ME ME ME! NOW NOW NOW!”
I WANT A GOLDEN GOOSE NOOOOOWWWWWWW – Veruca
Yes I am a Nellie basher, but I don’t completely hate his arse. I’ve said this before that I felt he was the best coach for this Warrior team which was lead by Baron. I loved that WE BELIEVE moment in 2007.
I actually believed him and give him much respect in honing Anthony Randolph into the better Man & Player that AR is today. I believe that AR was stubborn, lazy, and truly didnt realize what the acronym of N.B.A. truly defines.
No Boys Allowed.
That is stamped into AR’s brain and I hope AR lives to those words until his career is over and beyond that. Yes. We can THANK DON NELSON for that.
ROMESdavidWOOD37 THANKS DON NELSON FOR THAT.
It is the reason why AR is an absolute MONSTER RIGHT NOW and ALL OF THIS WILL BE REWARDED down ANTHONY RANDOLPH’S timeline of the future if NOT IMMEDIATELY SOON.
BUT…I really wish…after DON NELSON GETS HIS MOST WINNINGESSSEESST RECORD…that he passes the torch to Keith Smart to coach this talented team and wish us the best.
I really wish Don Nelson Stays away from OUR FRONT OFFICE, RETIRES FOR GOOD, watches the Warrior games from Maui, screams his lungs out there for us, walks out as the winningest coach, and wishes us Warrior players and Warrior fans the best.
I wish the front office would do us hard core Warrior Fans a favor and fire themselves. (request number 1337)
We could only wish.
We are tired of this crap. It’s time to move on.
These Loyal Warrior Fans Deserve it. This young great talented team deserves it.
Anthony Randolph who will be better than Lebron deserves it.
Don’t you think?
Lets….
Go…
warriors…still.
or something.

Also. I like AR's extreme optimistic mentality.
But wow. top 5? He can. but not Amo.
He will be the best shooter. He will lead the league in 3pt %.
He works extremely hard to be an all around player, but he won’t be a top 5 all around player for the NBA anytime soon.
Don’t matter to me. I love what he gives the Dubs and I enjoy watching him play.
Go A-MO!

Might be saying top5 at his position
Randolph might be saying Morrow can be top 5 at his position. Or maybe not. Can’t blame a guy for having a very high opinion of his friend, especially when that friend has been playing some very good basketball and has an amazing talent.
Top 5 in the league, even if it is just at SG/SF, is a very lofty prediction. I’d love to see it happen. If it does, Warriors are in the playoffs for sure. Of course, we might find ourselves in another Gilbert Arenas situation shortly thereafter.

+1
Word.
Of course, we might find ourselves in another Gilbert Arenas situation shortly thereafter.
It’s only a matter of time before Monta, Morrow, and Randolph are all gone.
Exit next, Curry.
Enjoy this exciting team before it becomes extinct within the next 2-3 years or even soon.
Go Warriors still or something.

sorry to get you all riled up
I posted this to give everyone a good “oh that kooky Don Nelson, what will he say next?” chuckle and maybe provide just a little distraction from the despair of the Jackson saga.

No worries bro.
I been riled up. I been frustrated as hell. All the Warriors Drama I been reading have added extra stress to the stress I had at work the last past two weeks.
I honestly needed to get away from Warriors crap.
It seriously got to me. I don’t need it. we dont need it. Seriously.
We have a life of Warriors that takes up 90% of our time and mental. 10% of our other life is probably more important. Sometimes we gotta get away from that 90% and appreciate that 10% of our lives.
You’re still my ongline GSoM friend sam23. Hi Pibe.
I think? Hello sam23? u still there?
(hand still hanging up in the air for a high five.)
go warriors still or somesthing.

Do yourself a favor and listen to the Nellie KNBR interview link on the other fanshot and it won’t seem so bad. Don’t listen to all these drama queens who just wanna cause you stress. We’re gonna win 37 games and then some more.

The league changed the rules. There can no longer be a Arenas departure. If a team wants to keeps its players it can.

Well, provided they are willing to pay enough money, yes. But, unless the Warriors find their way out from under the Maggette and Jackson contracts (like this NOH trade posted elsewhere) they may not have the salary cap/luxury tax room to resign Morrow what he’d be worth as a top talent in the league. Also, since Morrow was an undrafted unrestricted free agent, I am fairly certain there will be no restricted free agency and may not be any associated “Bird rights.”

I hadn’t thought of that, it should be an interesting situation. It would really suck if it took Morrow leaving to force the NBA to adjust the rule the same way it took Arenas leaving town to adjust the rule before. Does anyone know how the rules apply to undrafted FAs?

Top 5 TALENT, not Top 5 PLAYER.
He’s basically saying that AR has the talent to be one of the best, but we have yet to see if he will live up to his potential. Same could have been said for Lamar Odom and Rasheed Wallace; those two have amazing talents and has the skillsets to be one of the best in the league.

AR said it about Morrow
Morrow has not been projected by anyone to have that much talent – certainly not top 5 talent. (Well, maybe a few Warriors fans. ) Randolph literally says he thinks Morrow will be “a top 5 player in the league, maybe this year.” As a fan I say “YEAH!!!!!!” but I also ask (quietly,) “by what measure?” I certainly like his progress. In points scored, offensive efficiency, win shares, and a number of other categories he might do it. I hope he does. I just wonder if AR has got any reasoning behind what he’s saying or if, as I suspect, he’s just saying he is very impressed with the way his buddy is paying ball.
