Stephen Jackson to Denver a Possibility? [Hoopsworld]
Yay another TPE that would most likely expire into nothing left but a dream and J.R. Smith, who I like, but is also supposedly a head case. Whatever though. If they want that crap contract I say give it to them.

"Sorry to rain on the parade, folks, but Jackson is not coming to Denver. "
So this entire article was just a moot point…

I read that article too yesterday.
It was a complete waste of time with no useful information. Besides I don’t really like the writer, Travis Heath. He never has anything interesting to say on his chats, and his Warrior insight is horrible at best.
Warriors, Stupidest franchise in the league.
I told Randolph that Bill Russell would tell him to keep that ball in play and start the break.
RANDOLPH: "I know. But sometimes, you gotta let ‘em know."

Denver is not making this deal
Another undersized 2 guard is not what this team needs for Jack.

Correct, another one-trick-pony 2 guard is not what this team needs, we already have one in Morrow

at some point we need to realize its incredibly unlikely that we’re gonna get anything resembling “what this team needs” in return for Jackson. If we were able to get JR Smith in return (and we aren’t going to be able to) we should be thrilled that we got a younger player who isn’t completely useless with a much better contract.

+1
I’m all for finding a positive return for our team in trading Jack. But I totally agree that we may be getting some crap back if we want to trade Jack away. Hell, I’d even take another bloated contract back, as long as that player is not a detriment to the locker room like Jack is at this point.

Stephen Jackson would be an absolute beast in Denver
With Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony taking pressure off of him, Jack would be able to do more by doing less (meaning he’ll contribute more by not trying to do too much).
He’s best off as a 3rd option, he could end up being better than how he was on the We Believe team. I would be happy for Jackson if he got traded to Denver; he’d finally be able to leave this crap team that hasn’t made the Playoffs in 14 of the last 15 seasons (you shouldn’t be surprised that players don’t want to play here, it’s already proven in almost 2 straight decades that we can’t become good. And when we do become good like with ’94 C-Webb and the ’07 We Believe team, we find a way to ruin it).
I actually like JR Smith, but we already have way too many guards here. What’s worse is that we lose a player with good size in Jackson, and have him replaced with a 6’6" player who can’t play defense. We lose our best man to man defender and emotional leader in Jackson, and lose some size as well. I’d rather have Jackson as our legit SF and give our guards more playing time, instead of restricting them by adding another guard to our team.
PG: Monta Ellis / Stephen Curry / CJ Watson
SG: Anthony Morrow / Kelenna Azubuike / Acie Law
SF: Corey Maggette / JR Smith
PF: Anthony Randolph / Brandan Wright / Mikki Moore
C: Andris Biedrins / Ronny Turiaf
I put Corey in the starting line-up. I feel like Azubuike and JR Smith could benefit from Curry’s playmaking off the bench, but at the same time have enough ballhandling ability so that Curry doesn’t have to do all the dribbling. Corey in the starting line-up could put the other team in foul trouble early. Monta can score inside and in the mid range, he’ll have an efficient shooter in Morrow to dish it out to, and Monta’s penetration good get Randolph and Biedrins open for easy layups/dunks.
As mentioned, the trade wouldn’t happen. I’d be happy if Jack stayed, the money we’d get from Denver in a trade probably wouldn’t get us anyone relevant.
