Warriors Fantasy Questions
Hey everyone, I'm a mavs/blazers fan (whose 2007 hatred for GS left with Baron Davis/JRich). On my fantasy team I got a few Warriors with Anthony Randolph, Biedrins, and Cap'n Jack. I know blazersedge (portland's sbnation site) is full of really good insight into the team and the players so I thought I'd get your opinion on a few things...
I'm keeping Randolph for sure and Biedrins felt like a safe (personally love his game) but seeing him have a subpar first outing and not knowing how his preseason went makes me wonder if Turiaf is slipping into his game. Is Biedrins planned for big minutes? I know that if Big Z comes up for Jack it's going to probably really hurt his minutes.
And when it comes to Jackson, the latest I've heard is that you guys are probably going to hold on to him until the trade deadline where you can get more value out of him. If that happens how would you imagine Nellie and management handling it? I know Nelson's extremely unpredictable but I've been getting conflicting reports on the internet and I can't tell if you guys are planning on playing him a lot to get his value up or benching him in disgust. What do you guys think/what have you heard?
Oh, and have you heard anything about Randolph and tonight's Phoenix game? Do you think he's still ramping up slowly or does he look like he's going to be playing major minutes now that he's supposed to start? Sorry for all the fantasy stuff, I just figure go to the source for good information. I appreciate the help and don't worry, you guys aren't alone in the Jack hate, every other team's fans are going to hate him when he joins Denver/Cavs/Boston/Lakers/SA or whatever ungodly city that gets him for virtually nothing.

forget about jackson and biedrins.
keep randolph and pickup morrow NOW. he is a cheap version of ray allen.
I personally hate Jackson as a fantasy player this year
Biedrins is always solid, Randolph basically won me my league last year, and don’t even worry about Big Z cause that trade ain’t happening. I’d kop Stephen Curry if he’s available though.
I’d grab Curry if he was still available but I have solid (late pick) upcoming guards in Lou Williams + Eric Gordon so I’m ok on that front. I agree with Jackson but I picked him up on the cheap as well. When did Nellie start playing rookies?! I can think of some years where I wish he had done that back with Dallas.
Anybody know how Randolph is feeling, still hurting from that injury or is he planning on playing solid minutes? Normally I’d bench him until he’s healthy but these fantasy wet dream Warrior Suns games only happen 4 times a year.

Biedrins will be fine
Houston is a bad match up, i expect him to rebound back (literally and figuratively)
This is how you know we're a terrible team
A Mavs fan is already over the biggest upset in NBA playoff history because really how could you hate a team this bad.
Haha
Nah, just since then you’ve gotten rid of the players that I hated (SJax really being the last one and we all know how that’s going) and replaced them with likable entertaining guys (c’mon! what other team gives you scooter accidents!). Plus, I still remember telling my friend that year that anytime you played the ‘07 Warriors it was russian roulette so I wasn’t completely surprised. It was the worst possible matchup, kinda like Hornets the year after.
It’s true though, I don’t think many people see the Warriors as a threat this year but still a damn entertaining/young team and probably the best core of offensive swing players in the league. Minus Maggette, who nobody likes.

damn
thought we could pawn maggette onto you…
I hope not
I know at dallasbasketball.com there’s a HUGE love for Biedrins tied in with some trade that has SJax and Josh Howard at the core but I kind of wish they’d consider Howard for Jackson and Turiaf… Who knows. I don’t see Maggette being part of anything.

Expect Biedrins to continue to receive minutes. Turiaf has double duty b/c Wright is out for the season (PF & C) and is foul prone. Whether he produces at the same rate is harder to figure out only b/c he’s looked rather lethargic in the preseason & game 1. I’d hold onto him if I were you at least for 10-15 games. The Warriors have a light schedule and his #’s should pick up.
Jackson will get his minutes (mainly b/c he has Monta’s “ear”), but his production will be down from last year b/c of Curry & Monta doing most of the initiating on offense.
Like Number22Drew mentioned, Randolph is expected to start tonight. He should do okay enough for Nelson to play him 20+ minutes considering Amare still looks like he isn’t in shape & Channing Frye is a defensive sieve. though if i were you, i’d feel a lot safer starting Randolph in fantasy at times when Maggette is hurt which is at least 20-30 some games.
Jackson will fill up the whole board for you except for blocks. He’ll probably average something like:
15 Points
2 3PM
4 Rebounds
4 Assists
1 Steal
3 Turnovers/Game
Biedrins you can expect:
10 Points
10 Rebounds
50%+ Shooting Percentage
1.5 Blocks/Game
AR you can expect:
15 Points
8 Rebounds
2+ Blocks/Game
Welcome to the Warriors, Stephen Curry, the 2009 NBA Rookie of the Year.
Panda's and Curry in the Bey Area. Who would've known?
Conductor of the "We're Back!" Bandwagon!
thats underselling Jack and overselling Randolph
if jack stays, you can expect a productive fantasy player minus FG% and TOs ( I dunno how big your league is, mine is 14 teams so outside of your first or second pick, every player I have has limitations.
My projections:
IF JACK STAYS:
17-20 ppg (there is no way he averages less on this warrior team)
1.5-2 3pt
4 rpg
4 apg
1 steal
3 TOs
Randolph you should expect some growing pains. He’ll see a 2-3 week cycle of good production then 2-3 of not. He is young. That being said, he’ll end around 10 ppg, 7-8 rpg, 2 blocks a game
Sounds good
I’ll probably start all three tonight since it’s Phoenix and then bench Randolph until he’s a little more settled in and hope for the best. I really appreciate the insight. Good luck with the game tonight, it’s going to be really fun to watch.

Nellie really bringing Randolph from the bench?!!
Please say ESPN is incorrect and Nellie really isn’t putting Jack at PF and Randolph from the bench! Haha, from what I heard he looked pretty good in his minutes last game, am I off?
