A very telling quote
Jack - 'It’s a new team, so guys have to figure out how I want the ball."

Jackson
He needs the ball less if you ask me.

Maybe Jackson wants the ball to turn itself over, so he doesn't have to do the work!

The quote isn’t as dumb as it may sound to some people. Passing to Jackson at the right time and place can definitely help the team. He was their first option last year. He can help the team, IMO. Give them a few weeks to get their offense together. It’ll look good soon enough, I suspect.

Their ‘first option last year’ has been one of the least efficient players on the team since he’s been here. Just because he was the first option, doesn’t mean he was a good option.

I’d say he was pretty good, considering we had one of the best offenses in the NBA. Not that Jackson was fantastic, but he’s not a bad choice if you’re going to pass the ball. He’s a veteran with a strong will and a decent game.

He should never be a 1st option
Our options on offense should be in this order. Monta, Randolph, Curry, Morrow ,Buike, Jack, Maggs. Jack and Maggs mess up the flow of the game for. While Jack thinks it should be – Jack,Jack,Monta,Maggs,Jack.

His stats show how bad he was. A low efficiency high turnover volume shooter.
He should never be the first option, 3rd option at BEST.

I’d say he was pretty good, considering we had one of the best offenses in the NBA.
Actually, we didn’t; when you correct for pace, our offense rated only slightly above average, and was substantially worse than the ‘07-’08 offense. And while Jack’s .530 true shooting percentage last year wasn’t horrible, thanks to his ability to get to the line, it was A) slightly below the league average and B) lower than the TS% of Biedrins, Turiaf, Wright, Maggette, Morrow, Azubuike, CJ and even Crawford. Everybody on the team, in other words, except for Randolph, whose early poor play dragged his average down, and Monta, who shot horribly for a couple weeks coming off of the ankle injury. Efficiency’s not the whole story, of course… Jack can create his own shot, and there’s value in that. But Monta and Maggette can both do that too, and they do it better than he does.
Jack should never be more than our third option on offense, and even that’s pushing it. Trying to get open threes for Morrow and Azubuike is a far high-percentage strategy than letting Jack try to get something going on his own.
