Watson Trade
I don’t remember what it was exactly, but I know we could have ripped them off.

Wasn’t the trade CJ Watson for Future 1st round draft pick, Anthony Johnson, and cash on top? I said it then and I’ll say it now, the Warriors SHOULDVE taken that offer.
WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...

If that was on the table, the Warriors should have jumped on it. There clearly wasn’t going to be much room for CJ, and a first-rounder would remove the trading difficulties we have from the Marcus Williams trade (the recent maneuvers just delayed those difficulties, instead of removing them). Plus, CJ really, really wanted to go — why not help the guy out, rather than force him to mope at the end of our bench all year?
If a first-rounder really was offered and we didn’t jump at it, that’d be a real mistake in an otherwise solidly handled summer.

If curry pans out (and looks like he will)
then the warriors will probably let CJ walk next season. They probably kept him just in case they needed another pg.
Still, a 1st rounder from the magic probably is quite low…

Probably between 23-29.
Still alot of talent is available in that range. good role players, perhaps a foreign player who wants to stay overseas etc. etc. You can never have too many draft pics. Look at the best teams in the league. The bulk know how to draft well for role players…

Unless they offered Dwight Howard for him
Then, I’m pretty sure that while it was probably a good offer. It’s not unbelievable. ;-p

I'm fine with CJ
Monta and Curry will probably end up starting in the backcourt, leaving CJ as the backup point guard while Claxton and Law get traded sometime this season.

Or maybe this guy is just getting personal and overstating how generous the offer was.

Maybe that guy overvalues his own players too much and thought he was offering us something really generous. haha.

glad we kept him
We’ve all seen the injury-bug. It doesn’t help that both Monta and Curry are pretty small and will get banged up. Keeping CJ gives us a solid backup in case Monta and Curry get injured. I’d much rather have CJ play than Law or Speedy (if we end up keeping them).

ASIDE: Funny how one “mask” (RealGM) is referencing another “mask” (ESPN Rumor Central). Shame on ESPN for linking to themselves! At least RealGM linked to their actual source, ESPN, which may reveal where RealGM really gets their info from.
