Voting
- The ballot comes out too early.
- It’s just a popularity contest.
- Everyone knows numbers one and two are both true.

It’s just a popularity contest.
I advocate that all star voting should be voted on solely by NBA head/assistant coaches, front office personnel, and players ONLY. That way it will be determined on talent and not a popularity contest. They could simply allow fans to vote but have it mean NOTHING only to make the fans feel like they’re apart of the voting process. This way, the all stars are all deserving to be there instead of simply a popularity contest. Like Yi Jian Lian, only way he gets so many votes is cause of the nation of China all voting for their countrymen. I am 100% Chinese myself and I find it absurd that he has a good chance of getting into the all star game solely because China’s population is so huge.

I am Chinese and I voted for Yi.
You just further proved my point that the all star game is just a glorified popularity contest. Do you HONESTLY think that Yi deserved to get into the all star game when there are so much better forwards in the East like Lebron, KG, Paul Pierce, Josh Smith, Turkoglu, Jamison, Rashard, Gerald Wallace, I can keep going, but you get the point, only reason why Yi has a standing chance to get into an all star game is because of all the Chinese voting for him based solely on his race instead of the stats he puts up. All the above mentioned forwards have WAY better numbers than Yi, but most of them will probably get less votes than Yi. I find it totally unfair. And again, I AM 100% Chinese and proud of it, but I don’t think that Yi deserves to be in the all star game unless he starts posting up 18-5-5 with 3 combined steals and blocks from now until the all star break.

Voting is only for who starts the game. The subs are chosen by coaches.
Do you really think Randolph will beat out the likes of Duncan, Carmelo, Nowitzki, Boozer, etc.?

Whoa!!!!
First off, I do not like the clippers!!!! But how in the world did Chris Kaman not make the ballot. You could argue that he is currently the best center in the league (no offense dwight).
