The Irony of,"We are healthy this year".-Larry Riley
I remember before the season started, there was an interview of Riley saying that the difference this year was that everyone was healthy. Note: I can't find the video, but it's somewhere in GSW's youtube page.
He said players who were banged up last year are healthy this year, which was true at that moment. Monta Ellis' ankle is not injured anymore, but has probably changed his game because of that. We were basically set and ready to go when everyone was healthy.
But as the off-season went on, things changed...
Pre-season then went off, and everyone was playing well without any injuries. Then Brandon Wright get's his shoulder dislocated again during a practice. I know accidents happen, and Wright is now injury prone, but the irony of Larry Riley saying everyone is healthy this year.
That was a huge loss, because having Wright start at PF was a great idea from Nellie. Randolph still needs to grow and be more settled down like Wright is. It's just very unfortunate that Wright had to be injured and have to go through surgery even.
Already short a key Power Foward in Wright, Warriors' Azabuike had to start off the season with a minor injury. Then Turiaf with his early injury too.
I know injuries happen and all, but isn't it a little ironic how Larry Riley said that we were healthy and injuries started piling up.
Now Biedrins is out along wih Turiaf, already mentioned Wright out( with Mikki Moore as a replacement?)
This is almost as bad as Monta's ankle injury except he was out a whole season.
If we were more fortunate, we would've had a great front court of Randolph/Wright, Turiaf/ Biedrins. But as of now... we have only Randolph and that's just not enough of a core for our defense.
Not blaming anyone for injuries but it's all too ironic.

The biggest loss is Wright, not because he’s as valuable as Biedrins or even Ronny, but because he’s out for so long.
The Wright injury was a pretty big deal. In an interview with Ralph and Tom shortly before the season started, Nellie said something to the effect of, “I still like this team. I REALLY liked it before Wright got hurt. But I still like this team okay.” Nellie’s enthusiasm in the preseason has steadily drained away, and I think you could tag Wright’s injury as the starting point for that descent. Wright was the insurance for Randolph’s wackiness.
If Nellie was still really invested in this season, he and Riley would’ve tried to make a move to add a big a while ago. Shrugging and going back to Maggette at the four was the first sign that Nellie was tuning out again.

Maggette at the 4 isn’t as bad as Mikkie Moore playing the 5…
but i see what you mean by LONG TERM.
Biedrins/turiaf will eventually come back, BUT Wright WON’T(sniffle) so then Maggette will most likely play the back up 4 with Randolph.
I would still go with Wright over Randolph any day. But they’re a good Duo.
So much for the “Thwin Towers” =[ if anyone remembers that thread.

Coudnt agree more onxln,
If Wright was healthy what would that have done to the current Randolph backup center to Mikki Moore Dynamic. It would also give us when healthy player so we could trade Jackson for a useless player with and expiring contract and still be able to play games. A healthy front court rotation of Wright/Biedrins/Turiaf/Randolph always manning the 4 and the 5, our defense would be better and the perimeter players would have more spacing. Curry’s passing would be more of a factor as well.
Things are looking pretty bad at the moment. If Jackson is dumped for nothing, this team might literally become the worst team in the association.

Without Devin Harris
The Nets suck pretty hard.
Warriors, Stupidest franchise in the league.
I told Randolph that Bill Russell would tell him to keep that ball in play and start the break.
RANDOLPH: "I know. But sometimes, you gotta let ‘em know."

BRANDAN WRIGHT IS A BUST in both his play and his body. When will you people comprehend that.

If you write it in all caps, it must be true.
There will be no extra point!

We should’ve went after Drew Gooden instead of Mikki Moore. He is MUCH better than Mikki Moore in every conceivable way, his career points/boards are twice as high as Moore’s, he’s 6 years younger, and he actually wanted to COME to Golden State since he was a hometown player! How did Larry Riley mess that up?!
WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...
But that would require Cohan shelling out the extra cash.

It's certainly Wright
because there was so much enthusiasm about his supposed improved body, aggressiveness, and attitude. To have that knocked out for basically the whole season was a punch in the guy. I expect Turiaf and Biedrins to be back eventually.
Nevertheless, I voted for “I just want Stephen Jackson traded already”, because, well, I do. :P
With Wright we wouldnt have needed Moore
I think we might have picked up a different player who filled a better gap if the FO didnt feel pressure to sign a 7 footer – even if that had to happen through trade.
You’re right, Wright’s injury was the start of the descent.

Uhhhh, Moore got signed BEFORE Wright got injured…

Fact is
And I know this should seem obvious, but guys typically get injured during the grueling 82 game season, not in the off season. Having guys healthy at the beginning of a season is nothing to celebrate.
You have been DFiBrillated.

YAY!
But when a player is hurt and cant play more often than he can play, it is a reason for concern……

The Warriors PR machine is in full effect
This is what the Warriors front office want…someone else to divert the blame from the atrocious front office.
Jackson isn’t the reason why this team sucks. What he and his agent have been saying (the retarded dismantling of a successful "we believe" team) is the reason this team sucks.
Getting rid of Jackson won’t do anything. They need to package their quantity and get some quality (star player) to build around.
Why did 1/3 of fans say “they just want Jackson traded?” Making a trade just to make a trade is how we get stuck with players like Gugliotta, Bimbo Coles, ETC etc. Wait for the right deal that will give GS an expirer or someone of value. This “trade Jax for anyone” talk is nonsense.

well at least the whole team hasn’t caught the swine flu (they sometimes have played like swine but they are still standin)
