Lebron changing his number; Asks rest of league to do the same
"I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized some way soon," James said. "There would be no LeBron James, no Kobe Bryant, no Dwyane Wade if there wasn't Michael Jordan first.
"He can't get the logo, and if he can't, something has to be done. I feel like no NBA player should wear 23. I'm starting a petition, and I've got to get everyone in the NBA to sign it. Now, if I'm not going to wear No. 23, then nobody else should be able to wear it"
Will C.J. change his number too?
*****UPDATE*****
CJ will change is number

Haha MJ's evil stare
probably kept bothering Lebron when they were in Miami last night. Why was Jordan there anyway?
Haha
Im sure C.J. will probably change his. Unless the NBA makes some sort of statement, which i dont really see happening. Then everyone will probably follow suit.

Was he their daddy?

What a self rightous SOB
If I don’t wear it, then nobody esle should either.
If I don’t congratulate an opposing playoff team for winning a series, then nobody else should either.
If I throw a tantrum when a call doesn’t go my way, then everybody else should too.

a bit of an exaggeration there, no? he’s got a lot of respect for MJ and thinks the league should retire his number. if he keeps bringing it up and making a big deal of it, then you can call him self righteous, but making one statement after a game about MJ being great doesn’t really bother me.
i don’t agree that no one should be allowed to wear 23 (save it for people who did something beyond athletic greatness, like baseball did with jackie robison and i’d like to see them do with roberto clemente), but why shouldn’t lebron be allowed to say what he thinks?
heart of a champion, will of the warrior.
This...
…is a nice concept, but only before he starts insisting everybody follow suit. The problem isn’t that he thinks, even, that people shouldn’t wear 23, it’s that because HE’S giving it up, surely everyone else should. It’s arrogance, plain and simple; appropriate, though, as it is a gesture in respect of a supremely arrogant predecessor.
Well that's funny because he'll be wearing #6..
And that’s Bill Russell’s number. It’s not like it’s written somewhere in the book that jordan is the greatest, it’s an opinion. Why not retire 24 then, just because _ of people think that Kobe is better?
yeah
they don’t realize it was the man not the number that was great. They should retire the players and leave the numbers to do their own thing in peace.
