Larry Riley Needs to Fire Don Nelson and Keith Smart
Larry Riley needs to become a man and fire Don Nelson immediately! After a horrendous loss to the Milwaukee Bucks it's clear that Nelson has no control over the team and the lack of defense is absolutely disgusting. Most of the time it's basic fundamentals of basketball.
Such as getting out on a shooter instead of just giving them a wide open shot, picking up way too many cheap fouls, and most of all not moving their feet defensively.
The other problem is that too many times offensively the Warriors become one dimensional that means either Stephen Jackson and Monta Ellis are forcing up bad shots. It's not a wonder why the Warriors in their first five losses have been blown out and now the sixth had more of to do with the fact that the defense couldn't stop rookie Brandon Jennings.
Who ended up with 53 points! Jennings display continues to prove why the Warriors are the most pathetic franchise in the NBA! Each Warrior player should be absolutely embarrassed by allowing such a performance. Jennings is not Carmelo Anthony, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Brandon Roy, Tracy McGrady, or even Allen Iverson.
Jennings is only a rookie.
I'm also tired of hearing after every game about how Stephen Jackson is wanting to be traded, here's a thought for Riley get of your ass and trade him for another big man because the Warriors will not survive with Mikki Moore in the middle, Andris Biedrins out for over a week more now, Ronny Turiaf still sidelined, and Anthony Randolph not at 100 percent.
Stephen Curry needs to also get playing time as well, him playing on a couple minutes in New York is unacceptable! Just more proof why Nelson needs to be fired.

i guess Jennings dropping 32 points on Chauncey Billups also makes the Nuggets a pathetic franchise.

If Jennings...
…had dropped 32 on us it’d just be an aberrant (or not, depending on who was guarding him) incident. What Jennings did tonight was an utter humiliation, aided along by our absolutely pathetic defense. Blame of this magnitude falls on the players, and I admit that, but I have no confidence that even coaching as hard as he could Nelson could turn this around. Players can tune a singular voice out over the course of a few years. Even if you think Nelson’s done absolutely nothing wrong, it’s hard to argue there’s any merit to him helming this team.

Jennings scored 55. If you're gonna bash, at least get the facts right...

Incidentally...
…what I thought killed us lte in the fourth was pre-drive positioning. I remember both Curry and Maggette in particular running at their man’s hip trying to catch up. Cutting off the most direct angle for the drive is imperative stuff late in a game. Curry got burnt by Bell aong the baseline in just this way.

First off,
Riley doesnt have the authority to fire Nelson or Smart, or Rowell or ‘fire’ Ellis, or anybody else you want to name. Simmer down, one game when a rook had a career night. We have some big problems no doubt, but I dont see how firing Smart and Nellie helps anything.

Soooo, why fire Smart?
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"

It does not help when we have two skinny bigs playing center
CJ Watson guarding Jennings, or Maggette and Jack guarding 4’s.
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"

I'm Not a Fan of Nelson 2009
However,
After a horrendous loss to the Milwaukee Bucks it’s clear that Nelson has no control over the team and the lack of defense is absolutely disgusting.I didn’t think last night’s loss was horrendous. I think we played a pretty competitive game against what will be a surprising contender in the Eastern Conference. We were on the back end of a back-to-back, missing our top big man, and we are the Warriors. We did blow it in the third quarter, but they had a player that was ridiculously on fire, rookie or not, an NBA player on fire will burn you (Anthony Morrow vs. the Clips last year?) Also when one player gets hot, it always seems like the momentum and luck all swing to that team, like that beyond half-court 3 that went in to end the half.
Our guys showed some heart, especially a surprising Corey Maggette, and we made a game of it with an exciting run at the end.
Does Nellie need to go? Probably, but not based on this last game.

Inspired because he was one of our potential picks
Jennings is one of the players we were thinking of drafting last year. Because of that, regardless of most of his shots going in, he probably would of shot the ball alot because he wanted to show up a team that was thinking of getting him. Looking at his stats so far this season, he’s only had 1 bad game and he’s learning that he’s becoming the #1 option for the Bucks right now.
For the Warriors, you can’t fire the whole team, but you can fire the coach. In this case, let’s give Brandon Jennings his due- he’s going to score a lot this year.

Wow, Rocky posting a fanpost about firing a coach with no semblance of an actual argument about why the coach should be fired or solid examples/evidence that the coach isn’t doing his job and could be doing something differently that would work better. What a surprise. Bored because you can’t post your weekly fire Gregory post this week over at CGB Rocky? As for Jennings, it was just one of those lucky nights for him, so what? He accidentally banked a jumper in, he hit 7 of 8 3 pointers (and many people have questioned his shooting ability)…yeah, nobody has ever denied Jennings physical abilities, put that together with the kind of lucky shooting night he’s bound to have once every blue moon, and you get a good performance. So what?
He had a great game, it happens. If you have any useful suggestions about what we could have done differently, and how it would have affected the end result, go ahead and try to come up with a reasoned analysis (and be sure to include details and examples that back up your assertions), I’d enjoy it, but otherwise why don’t you just keep quiet?
Also, not sure what people expect Nelson to do with 3 of our top 4 big men out, and the other one hurting. That’s generally a huge detriment to a team, and we won our last game and would have won this game if it weren’t for a spectacular (and unusual) performance out of a rookie, one that he probably won’t be able to repeat again all year. That doesn’t look to me like strong evidence the coach is failing in his coaching.

“After a horrendous loss to the Milwaukee Bucks”
Did you watch the game?
It was a close, hard fought loss. Hell, if Jennings didn’t get hot in the third, it probably would have been a blow out in favor of the Warriors
