Replace Ellis with Iverson for the rest of the year!
Ok Look. I'm no expert, just a decades long warriors fan and general sports fiend. I just read the headline on the homepage about Monta Ellis wanting to be traded. Let's say that the warriors do trade him (which I am in favor of). I'm not going to speculate on actual Names/Deals, but I would hope it would be for someone good: a savage, promising, team-oriented SF/PF who's not old.
Say that went down... what if we picked up AI for the rest of the year to replace Ellis at SG (whom Morrow can back up, or AI plays a little PG, back him up with Curry and start Morrow). I know it sounds crazy, but I do believe people can change, or at least change to fit the circumstances... and yes, in do believe in fifth and sixth chances at times, ha ha. Even for people with huge egos. This experiment would only succeed if AI and Nelson and the rest of the Team got on the same page though. This would not be an invite for AI to dribble the ball for 19 seconds then shoot one up... I think AI would have to look to pass first and shoot second and it would have to be understood... (I have visions of Iverson driving to the hoop and dishing it to AR4 for a dunk, or Curry and/or Morrow for corner threes...) With Nellyball you can afford to do that and still get up 15-19 shots per game because of the pace of the game. Besides, AI would thrive in Nelly's uptempo system, and in most respects, AI is just like Monta Ellis, just Ellis from the future. So why not sign him for the rest of the year? See how things go... he did say he wants to go to an east contender, but he also says he wants to start... And besides, he's more savvy on defense that Ellis is at the moment. And we would still have the cash to sign the free-agent that we covet during next summer, right?
So what if the Warriors make it interesting out West in the end? Think of how electrified Oracle would get should the Warriors pull it together, become a real team and play like there's nothing left to lose. They could be very scary, especially if they don't slack on D for a single play. If AI gets on board with a mental intensity to help the warriors win, I think it would rub off on the others and it would translate to tougher D. Who knows... crazier things have happened. Like Sammy Sosa's image change...
A little food for thought never hurts anyone...

Even as a stopgap,
I don’t like what AI brings to the table.
I’d rather keep Montay, bad attitude and all.

absolutely not.
id rather see them bring back Tim Hardaway and Spree, give them 35 min a game, and see what happens than Iverson….AI would severely harm any growth Curry may have this season. plus why add another cancer when you just removed one?

I would pick up Iverson, if I already had a trade like Boozer for Monta..but honestly I'd keep Monta and focus on moving someone else like expiring contracts for a big man!

Replace Ellis with Iverson for the rest of the year!
Haha, Iverson is too experienced to want to play with this group of kids. Why would he want to be a part of all this nonsense, he’s winding down his career and don’t need the hassle?

he signed on to Memphis!!! Once again he signed up to play for Memphis. That team is worse than us. His only problem was minutes and starting. Skeptic….did you bang your head?

Once again he signed up to play for Memphis
and it took him 3 games to realized he didn’t need the hassle so why repeat it here?

I am still potentially for this
This season is gone, done, over. The Dubs FO F’ed it up.
I wouldnt mind seeing the following team out of pure entertainment value:
Curry / Watson
Iverson / Morrow
Bell / Buike
Randolph / Wright
Biedrins / Turiaf
AI with our shooters, plus the big guys looking for dunks and alley oops would be a lot of fun and we would have some defense.
Of course the whole roster is getting injured constantly so I guess we can forget this too

I love Iverson.
The dude won’t cause any problems if he’s a starter. If we traded Monta I would be all for giving AI a starting job.

Getting Iverson would be the worse thing ever. Especially a team that is trying to rebuild. Why would we want to play Iverson when he isnt going to be a Warrior for the long term

Rebuilding?
You mean creating a new plan on how to suck every year so we are entertained by the new suckage?

But at least we got a Thing A thumbs down for our troubles.

Why?
We would have curry, monta, morrow, bell, iverson, watson. thats half of an active roster guards, while we still don’t have a healthy C.
If you want to make a smart move, sign Pops Mensah-Bonsu to a 10-day contract and see how he works out.
