Boycott the Warriors!

You all probably get many different emails throughout the season from ticket reps on ticket deals on various games or the next GSoM night. I've been alot getting them for the past few years having been on this site or just randomly purchasing tickets from the gswarriors.com website. ANYWAYS, after seeing how this season has started out, I've told myself that I will boycott the warriors and not attend anymore games. Not only am I just ignoring these ticket rep emails but I also replied to one of them (Chris Murphy) with the following email:

"Chris,

First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for your professionalism throughout all these years as a ticket sales rep for the Golden State Warriors and constantly reminding me of upcoming deals on games, I've definitely purchased tickets to many games through you over the past few years. Anyways, I would just like to say that I will not be attending anymore Warrior games until something is done about the front office. I am sick and tired of watching my beloved Warriors be the laughing stock of the NBA. 1 playoff appearance and 2 winning seasons in 15 years is NOT acceptable in a league where more than half of the teams get into the playoffs! Having said that, I am joining thousands of other die hard Warrior fans and refusing to buy anymore tickets to Warrior games until there is some change and I see any one or a combination of the following: Don Nelson stepping down as head coach, Robert Rowell getting fired, or Chris Cohan selling the team. I will however, still support my Golden State Warriors on my television without putting anymore money into Cohan's wallet. Thanks again for all these years of service and helping promote the Golden State of Mind name. And again, Go Dubs!

(Your Name Here)"

I encourage you all to do the same the next time they send you a ticket promotion to really let them know we mean business! It may not do much in terms of their decisions but it's worth a shot!

been awhile since i’ve commented here, mostly just reading the good stuff other people have to say. I was talking to my friend today about the warriors (hes a laker fan) and he said we need to boycott the warriors and do a picket fence rally. Even though he was just kidding, it makes sense to me! Don’t support this organization that doesn’t care about the most loyal fans in the nba!! GO ON STRIKE!

No more Warriors games this season until one or all of the action items you listed happen.

Agree

We need to do something more to amplify our message tho…..

I DID THE SAME THING!

It’s funny because I sent a long reply to one of the Warriors ticket agents as well. I told him I am protesting the Warriors along with my friends until we have a change with Cohan and Rowell. He understood.

I’m glad there are many who feel the same way. SPREAD THE WORD!!!!

BOYCOTT!!!!! Let’s fill the blogs and message boards with calls to boycott!

Let's take our team back!

I’ve been talking about this a lot lately. No reason for Cohan to sell or change things up as long as we dedicated Warriors fans keep filling the seats.

As much as it might hurt, we need to boycott our beloved Warriors until we can enforce change at the top. I, for one, am not going to renew my season tickets next year if the current regime is in charge. I’d like to ask that our other disgruntled fans join me.

Additionally, for those of us who already have tickets for this year’s games, we should arrange a protest. Can we call upon Tony.PSD to create a t-shirt for us all to wear to games with an anti-front office remark? Let’s blanket the stadium like we did with the We Believe yellow during our playoff run.

I would even go so far as to say that we need to stand out in front of the Roaracle on game days with picket signs. We simply cannot let this go on any longer.

I don’t want to speak for Tony but he probably won’t do anything of the sort and for good reason. He would be alienating himself from the organization.

An easier thing to do is buy a bunch of paper bags and hand them out to everyone who would be willing to put them over their heads during a national televised game.

I don’t think this will have any bearing or affect on the front office but it will let the basketball world who happens to be watching the woeful Warriors on TNT how you (we) feel about the current situation.

Protest and Boycott!

It’s become painfully obvious that the Warriors are going to be horrible as long as we have Cohan, Rowell, and gang running the show. It’s even more obvious that Cohan is taking the loyalty of the fans for granted. As long as Cohan is making money with ticket and merchandise sales, he is either: perfectly content with the status of the Warriors as arguably (and probably) the worst franchise in the NBA, OR too incompetent to do anything about it. As a too loyal Warrior fan, it’s time to hit Cohan and Rowell in the only area where it can make a difference: their wallets.

Everyone needs to stop buying tickets, jerseys, etc., and stop going to the games and make it clear to Cohan that he needs to sell the franchise!!! 1 playoff appearance in 15 years in a league where half the teams make the playoffs! That is as Tom Tolbert put it, “Almost impossible to do.” Unless your name is Chris Cohan and you have your buddy Robert Rowell in charge. Time to protest. Tell your friends, family, anyone who is a true Warriors fan! Let’s get this franchise going in the right direction. That won’t happen until we have a regime change. PROTEST! PROTEST! PROTEST!!!

Anyone who can distribute posters/emails/anything to spread the word of our cause should do it!

This needs to get more RECs

Thanks for writing this. If people want things to change then they need to do something rather than just talking about it and hoping the situation gets better. I don’t really understand why some fans continue to monetarily support the franchise when it’s selling you a god awful product.

If starbucks started putting piss in your coffee would you still drink it just because you love your starbucks so much? Well the Warriors organization has been pissing in everyone’s coffee for years and for some reason people keep coming back and throwing away their money for it. What incentive would the ownership have to change anything if they’re still getting lots of people to buy tickets? If you’re really insistent on going to games still the least folks can do is start a "FIRE Rowell! chant or something.

The Boycott Movement

I’m not buying another Warriors ticket until Rowell and Cohan are gone!
Make your voice heard by not giving your money to Cohan. Hit ’em where it hurts most.

plain and simple....

we need a new owner that brings passion and enthusiasm about the game of basketball, along with a winning attitude, and importantly a sense of marketing this team nationally. what we have now is a reclusive loser who has no pull in the league and no connection to the fans. ex. back in 2007 when we beat Dallas, all the credit was given to Mully and Nellie as should have been, but nowhere to be mentioned was Cohan or his buddy Rowell. combined with the fact that they didn’t even attempt to take any credit for the success, shows how little they care about the Warriors.

Overall I’m sick of this franchise and the awful product they put out there year to year. Definitely considering writing the W’s a letter informing them that I plan on canceling my league pass because the product on the court is unacceptable for the price they charge. I hope I’m not alone in saying that I’m tired of being a fan of a team that is the joke of the league that would rather be a sideshow gimmick for profit than an actual sports team. ughhh.

You should rather write that letter to the league instead of the Ws, from my knowledge, I don’t think the Warriors (or any oither franchise) makes money off League Pass, the NBA as a league does. Correct me if I’m wrong…

WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...

wow.

didn’t actually read the OP all the way through and just felt like venting…but its nice to see that were all on the same page. this nightmare really has to end at some point or another. my question is why doesn’t David Stern realize how much of a cash cow this franchise could be when managed properly and force Cohan to sell?

Keep this alive

I feel you bro. I’m f-n’ tired of SUCKING. Keep this at the top!

This I can get behind.

I’ll respond to my last email from Chris Murphy with a similar note. I’m sure that guy’s having a rough year.

I am with you 100%

I actually started a website www.cohanpleasesell.com basically trying to do the same thing you are. This is the first time I’ve read your post but it looks like we are on the same page. Glad you wrote the letter the Chris Murphy. We need more fans like you!
