The Inevitable Trade of Ellis... Proposal
So it looks like Monta Ellis is heading down the same path as Stephen Jackson... So let the trade proposals begin...
The most realistic trade partner in my opinion is the Philadelphia 76ers. Why? Because the 76ers want to move Dalembert and his $12 million dollar contract. Here is my proposal....76ers send:
Samuel Dalembert: $12,025,694
Andre Iguodala: $12,200,000
Thaddeus Young: $2,105,400
Total Salary: $36,331,094
Warriors send:
Monta Ellis: $11,000,000
Corey Maggette: $8,937,931
Speedy Claxton: $5,209,454
Total Salary: $25,147,385
Warriors unload a disgruntled player + a salary contract nightmare for a bigger 2 that can play in the backcourt with Curry and a SF to replace the loss of Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette. Dalembert can be a serviceable backup Center to Biedrins.
New Look Lineup:
PG: Curry / Watson
SG: Iguodala / Morrow
SF: Buike(When he returns from injury) / Young
PF: Randolph / Turiaf
C: Biedrins / Dalembert
Looks like a solid team to me. And we don't lose much talent wise.
What do you think?

why would the 76ers do that?
i wish..if we put in biedrins instead of maggette they might take it
Dalembert
They’re so totally desperate to get rid of him.

Maybe
I don’t think they would part with Iguodala myself, though.

whaaaaat?
why on earth would philly do that? just because the salaries match up doenst mean theyll dismantle their team. basically they are giving up their best and second best player for monta ellis and garbage? not to mention they can get a good package just for dalembert while keeping the one guy selling tickets. horrible post
yea they just woudlnt take this
maybe if anthony randolph was in there+1st round pick
Statistically
Monta > Iguodala
Maggette > Young
Brandan Wright can be a throw in if need be.
Maybe statistically...
But Iguodala is, by far, the better all-around player.

I can think of 30 GMs in the league
that would take Iggy over Monta
...and that's a good thing

Ai is one of the only people I'd want in return of Monta
But what are the chances of that?
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"
I LOVE IT!!!
Too bad it’s a terrible trade for Philly lol

Philly Doesn't Do This With A Gun At Their Head
Never never never will happen..Is this your cream dream??
Philly's...
3/5 starting lineup are in that trade. No way they would do that considering Andre Iguodala is in it. Iguodala is better than Monta Ellis, no way they would trade their franchise player for him, let alone throw in their starting F and C for a guy that is overpaid and comes off the bench.
more realistic trade
iggy dal 4 monta, biedrins, george….
personally i’d do it. Biedrins is overrated and overvalued. Iggy is clearly best player of the 4, an unselfish swing with high assist to turn over ratio, and a very VERY good defender. We’d still be al ottery team, and there are a variety of good young bigs (Favors, Motejuanetas, Ed Davis, Cole Aldrich, Greg Monroe off top of my head).
Second, next summer we’d be around 30 mil under the cap with Bigs like Pau Gasol, David West, Yao Ming, Al hortford, Greg Oden).
Third, if we didn’t wanna go into free agent market Vlad + dalemberts expirings should be able to be valuable trade pieces…
I think you’re overvaluing Dalembert a little. He isn’t very good, his contract is HORRIBLE, and he’s old.

it expires in 2011 though....
Which if this trade happened we’d have to deal w/ him a little over a year.
Next season we could have…
curry, Iggy, keleena on the perimeter positions. Which defensively would be a huge upgrade, and offensively could be too (iggy is as efficient if not more than current monta, and a better passer)
he isn old....
he’s 28. His ocntract expires when he’s 30
Huh, I thought his contract was a little longer than that.
Still- he’s not a great player.
