Off course he is angry
There is not much he can do with the current state of the team. Injuries are causing chaos for the team. It is hard to measure the team because it has never been in its full strength. So I think I am gonna wait and see the team w/ AB and Turiaf before making any noise.

I can't get it to work?
Any transcripts?
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"

you can't right click and download the mp3, and then play it?

Nope, it shows the player icon with a question mark over it
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"

that is absolutely weird
When I move my mouse over the title bar “The Don Nelson Show 11/19”, it shows the direct link to the mp3. I right click, and I save as. Then I play the file in a media player outside the browser.

Nellie doesn’t know whether or not the team’s star player and his agent had a meeting about getting traded today? Man, Nellie’s even phoning in his lies at this point. That doesn’t pass the laugh test. Also, TK very specifically had a source put Nellie at that fabled summer dinner with Rowell, Jack and Monta. I don’t know whether that was a lie or not, and I don’t particularly care about that dinner one way or the other, but Nellie sure sounds fuller and fuller of crap in these interviews.
Good on Tom and Ralph for pushing Nellie on stuff, but you get the feeling that there aren’t gonna be too many more of these one way or the other.

no he didn’t. this is what TK said.
-New info: GM Larry Riley actually flew out to Memphis not just once, but TWICE last off-season to talk things over with Ellis. We already knew about one of them; I just heard about the second Riley trip, this time with special assistant Calbert Cheaney in tow.
Oh, there are Don Nelson’s overall manipulations to factor into this, too. On most teams, that would be a huge deal. On the Warriors, a screwy coach who has the players quietly questioning every move and substitution… that’s just a sidelight.
Most pointedly, according to several NBA sources with close ties to both the Warriors and Ellis, the most recent flare-up started last summer, before the draft.
That’s when Riley and Nelson flew out to Memphis to meet with Ellis and (NEW INFO) led him to believe that they would probably trade their No. 1 pick for an established big man.
I’m told Nelson did not speak much during the dinner with Ellis. But Riley told Ellis forcefully that another No. 1 pick rookie probably wouldn’t contribute much to the upcoming season and that the Warriors had a few things brewing to acquire an established frontcourt player.
Someone like Amare Stoudemire, I presume.
(This also is a version of a conversation I believe Robert Rowell had when he took Stephen Jackson and Ellis out to dinner near the end of last season, when Rowell apparently told them that the Warriors were likely to add a major player to place alongside the two of them.)
according to Spears’ twitter (one day after TK’s allegation that a meeting was going down (17th 10:13 am))
# Ellis has not asked for trade, but is unhappy. Agent Fried, in Oak 2 promote boxing match, has no meeting set with RIley yet but could meet 7:57 AM Nov 18th from web
not that i disagree with your assessment that Nellie’s full of it, just getting the facts straight.

You’re right, I got mixed up… there was a Rowell/Jack/Monta dinner where Rowell said the team would acquire a star, then a later Riley/Nellie/Monta dinner where that was reiterated, with the added detail of the draft pick being used to make it happen. So yeah, if Nellie was saying he wasn’t at the first dinner, he wasn’t technically lying. Thanks for the correction.
As for yesterday’s meeting, I have no idea if it did or didn’t happen or even if it was or wasn’t scheduled, and I can certainly buy that Kawakami was trying to make something out of nothing. But I don’t buy that Nellie had no idea whether or not Riley had met with Jeff Fried yesterday. Whether they met or not, whether it went well or not, a head coach with front office influence would certainly know whether his GM had met with his star’s representatives. It’s just really disingenuous when Nellie claims to be separated from dealings in the front office. You can actually hear Ralph and Tom trying not to laugh whenever he does that.
