the way he talks in that article makes it sound like he does want to be here.

I'm not sure, but I think it was Marc Spears who said yesterday that the rumors about Ellis' agent were false and that no interview had been set up.

The Bay Area media just tries to make so much out of nothing, especially Kawakami. The reson that they made up that meeting rumor is because his agent is in town because he is Andre Wards agent as well. I wouldn’t make much at all of the recent Monta trade rumors because he is the face of the franchise.

I hope he believes

Because a lot of fans want him here for a while. Mostly everyone has his back so I don’t see why he would want to leave.

the cynic in me says...

he’s just trying to look good so it helps his trade value.
but…
the optimist in me says – ITS A NEW DAY! AND A HAPPY MONTE!
we’ll see!

Woohooo

Now that’s what I want to hear from Ellis!

Will this matter a year from now?

Monta is our leader

I have always like Monta’s game and I will continue to support him as long as he wants to be here. And it sounds like he wants to be here and wants to get better at leading the team. I hope everything he said, he truly believes and is committed to investing in his teammates and the organization.

But if he starts complaining and whining about the situation I will lose respect. No player is greater than the team as a whole. (THAT’S RIGHT STEPHEN JACKSON!!)

Monta, WE BELIEVE!! (i hope you do too)

Great to hear

I am really excited about this Warrior team, even if we aren’t going to make the playoffs this year. We added some good veteran leadership, and the mood seems to be 100% different with the absence of Jackson. Watch out Blazers, the Warriors are coming! Go Warriors!

The Warriors are not going to trade Monta by any mean

Monta is the heart of this team offense. He can drive, finish, and dish. He is the immediate threat that forces other teams to rotate to defend him and leave holes for a 3pt shot. Warriors are a shooting team, so he is not going any where.
Monta knows really well about his importance in the team. He is just pissed at the injuries we have lately. I am mad to Monta, but hang in there

Well, that’s good to hear.

On a separate note, can someone please get rid of the Macy’s ad on the side. I’m tired of that douche with the vanilla ice hair popping up while I navigate around GSoM.

This is good to hear

Of course he might be lying as some of you suggested but I think he might actually want to be here, wants to embrace that leadership role and start winning… I mean where else can he go to and be handed the keys to the franchise ?? Every team already has their franchise player to build around, he’s ours….now please let stop bringing up crazy trade ideas for him, pleaseeee

by ARandolph on Nov 20, 2009 11:30 AM PST reply actions   0 recs

That is good for Monta

and good for the team. And Monta should always think twice before demanding a trade. Right now he is the face of a franchise, a team captain and everything. If he got traded today, with some other team, how long he would wait until he will be a face of the franchise of that given team. He will back to being the follower of whoever team captain of that team.
