Using Shot Location to Diagnose Positional Identity Crises [Hoopdata]
A Discussion of Identity and Where They're Launching [Hardwood Paroxysm]
Tom and Matt dig deep into the data and provide an interesting look at shot distribution (Rim, Short, Mid, Long, Threes) by position (PG, SG, SF, SF, PF, and C).
I can tell you without looking at the data that regardless of where Warrior opponents are taking their shots and regardless of position- they go in at a high rate.

From the few games we saw Channing Frye
I knew he was a 3 pt shooting center, but his shot distribution is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more towards 3 pt shooting that I thought. Nellie probably has fantasies of trading Biedrins or Turiaf for Frye.
I like that term… shooting center. Of course, it helps a whole lot when you have that Amar’e guy rolling to the basket drawing the D into the paint.

I still never got why we didn't try for him....
I realize he didn’t pan in portland but he’s 26 talented big w/ a shot (always saw him more as a PF). He did very well in NYK (well enough to be a backup big anyway). I realize he’s a bit soft, but he is an ideal fit for nellie’s system.
He makes what 2 mil? We offered mikki moore 1.3 mil???
he never showed he had this type of range before.
He worked on his shooting over the summer to go from a mid-range shooting big with no 3 point range to a 40% shooter from 3. You don’t normally hear about that.

thats true BUTTT
He did have a consistent 15-18 footer, which for a PF/C is range.
What a waste of sharpies
The big blue line show point guards shooting the same number of close shots as small forwards? Without explaining that they get them completely different ways?
