Yet Another Trade Proposal...
Lets send Stephen Jackson to the Chicago Bulls!!!
Tyrus Thomas and Jerome James.
Here are the salaries for the Warriors:
Jackson: $7,650,000
Turiaf: ~$4,100,000
Here are the salaries for the Bulls:
Thomas: $4,750,000
James: $6,600,000
Why the Warriors should do this trade: Get's rid of Jackson. Enough Said.
Why the Bulls should do this trade: Tyrus Thomas has been in conflict with coach vinny del negro recently and it looks like it's not something that will be easily resolved. Also they drafted two power forwards in Taj Gibson and James Johnson. Both are 6-9 versatile forwards who can play both the SF and PF positions. They would be getting back a bigger more traditional PF in Turiaf and getting a solid wing man in Jackson. A lineup of Rose, Jackson, Deng, Turiaf, Noah with Hinrich and Salmons off the bench could be tempting for chicago.
The Warriors possible lineup with this trade:
Curry, Ellis, Randolph, Thomas, Biedrins

Not sure what to think
of this proposal. I do think that Thomas would be a great fit in the W’s uptempo style of basketball, however, the guy’s a bit of a headcase. Sure Jackson is as well and I’d love nothing more than to get rid of him, but I don’t want Turiaf in this deal. He’s our best defensive player and his salary is a steal. Jackson for Thomas straight up, I might consider, if Thomas is in a contract year then I do it.

I might consider it if he signs an extension
I prefer a Wallace or Prince but I also would like to win the lottery……
Rookie: "Why did you bench me?"
Nellie: "You're a rookie"

Bulls probably wouldn’t do it, as it’d prevent them from being able to bid on D-Wade. They sure wouldn’t mind getting rid of Thomas, though, and it’d be expiring deals for us, with the option of giving Thomas another year if he intrigues us. It’s an interesting thought.

This is very true...
It would lock up more money in 2010 and they won’t be able to offer Wade as much money…..
But if they are looking short term, to compete in the east, this trade will be an upgrade for the Bulls.

Yea I don’t hate this at all. I wonder if the Bulls would want to do this.

I’m not sure if Nelson would even play Thomas to be honest. I’m leaning towards no, just because I’m not sure letting Ronny go is what’s best right now. If Jackson goes—fine—but let’s not drop any more productive players.
Warriors, Stupidest franchise in the league.
I told Randolph that Bill Russell would tell him to keep that ball in play and start the break.
RANDOLPH: "I know. But sometimes, you gotta let ‘em know."

I can’t see why the building Bulls would be interested in Jackson and his 4 year contract. Would make better sense for the Cavs, who feel that Jax might be the player to put them over the top.

"Curry, Ellis, Randolph, Thomas, Biedrins"
If Nellie won’t play Randolph as a 4, why the heck would you think he’d play him as a 3?

Get rid of Turiaf?
Really? The Dubs don’t need Tyrus Thomas or James, even if they are expiring contracts. The Dubs said they wanted to trade Jackson for someone who they think is as valuable in return. Personally, I don’t think Thomas or James is worth Jackson. I know you want to clear up cap room, but I’d do it if it excluded Turiaf.

Thomas and Randolph
Are very similar players. It either motivates AR to listen to coach better, or compete harder(which I don’t see as a problem) or it makes him feel marginalized and turns him into C-Webb Jr.
I will say that Thomas is more marketable than Stephen Jackson. If Thomas acted as a one year substitute for the rehabbing Wright, then I think he would be easier to trade this off-season. I think our play style would make him look sexier than he really is and you would have some takers by season’s end. All in all, I think you would have a shot at getting more talent back then, as opposed to Jackson now.
Long term, I don’t like it one bit. I would hate to have Thomas and Randolph on the same team, as much as I hated having Pietrus and Barnes on the same team.
I’m not a big Turiaf fan for our current roster. He’s a spectacular complimentary player. We don’t have any players he can compliment yet. He belongs on a team with an Al Jefferson or a Stoudemire, or Bosh, not us. He protects the rim sure, but it seems like he either blocks the shot or he levels somebody. I rarely see him try to change every shot, setting up Biedrins and co. for defensive rebounds. He wants to send every ball to the 17th row. I like his energy dunking the ball, I like his screens, but he’s not the defensive player everyone thinks he is just because he has a clutch block that will make the average fan go goo-goo.
He needs to rebound the ball better, play the defensive post smarter and not foul as much. Hopefully by then, Biedrins will have developed into something a bit more formidable on offense, and Randolph will have decided exactly what kind of player he wants to be and work on exclusive facets of the game, rather than trying to do absolutely everything.

Other trade idea
I think that while this is not a bad trade, I would prefer this one. Jackson and Magette for Diaw and Vlad Radmonovic. If they would not take that we could take Nazr Mohammed.

Marc stein has already reported that the Bobcats are in the Jackson hunt because they are so desperate for offense. They also may be willing to lose Diaw and are desperate to lose Muhammed and would also not mind losing V-Rad. Their players have two year contracts, which gives us greater future freedom. Let’s face it, Magette is a bust and Jackson has to go. This gives us a great asset in Diaw, who would probably be a great fit for our team and Mohammed or VRad would fit into our rotation and could be easily dealt next year.

Can somebody please tell me why
a team like the Bobcats would be dumb enough to think they could sweep the elephant under the rug and take on a problem like Jackson? Wouldn’t he basically be in the same situation he is in now in Charlotte? I guess he would be closer to home, but he’s still not home. It doesn’t make any sense to make that trade if I’m the Bobcats. I know they’re desperate but wow!
