The Lin Movement
Wasn't sure if Jeremy Lin has been discussed on GSoM before. He's a Bay Area product playing at Harvard, and he is balling! Can I request the Lin Movement?

Has anyone from Harvard ever played in the NBA?
Sittin in my scraper watchin Oakland goin wild, ta-dow!
No
Jeremy Lin is overrated.
He gets too much hype because he is a Bay Area cat.
People think he’s michael jordan because he’s the first Asian American to grasp attention in the basketball world.
Put him in a decent college program, and he would be riding bench, maybe not even playing.
He doesn’t even compare to any of the top guards in College.
I am being 100% honest here.
Let me clarify
Jeremy Lin is GOOD, but not good enough for the NBA.
He can certainly play overseas.
well
against top tier teams this year… he has scored
Boston U 19pts 5/11 fg
UCONN 30pts 11/18 fg
Boston College 25 pts 7/10 fg
with a game with Georgetown next
He’s led his team to 2 victories over those 3 so far… With the other team gearing their defenses for him! Who else would they focus on?
I can understand ignoring his scoring if he was a high volume shooter, but he’s hitting 51% from the field on the season!
2nd round draft pick doesn’t sound out of the question to me.
He would have to play PG
in the NBA.
He would get eaten up by any decent PG.
6’3 is generous for him.
He’s too small to play SG.
It's a good story
He put up 30 pts and 9 rebs on UConn and 25 points against Boston College, so he has put up good numbers against legit competition. I’m really rooting for the guy. Yeah, hey might not make the NBA, but I love rooting for underdogs. It would be a great thing if he could make the L because he is a talented player.
Ballin' like its '88!
NBA's a long shot for hin.
Us Chinese just don’t have that kind of athleticism! haha
WARRIORS BASKETBALL!!! Patiently waiting for a title...I may be waiting for a long time...

You're kidding right?

His dad and mom are Taiwanese making him Chinese.
“Gie-Ming Lin(Jeremy’s Father) was born in Taiwan, where academics were stressed and athletics ignored. He caught an occasional glimpse of basketball and, for reasons he can’t explain, was immediately smitten with the game.”
He's Taiwanese
Viet folks don’t have Lin as a last name and they don’t go to schools like Palo Alto. In one of the highlights for the UConn game on youtube, they misspoke saying he was Vietnamese.
